Kirby Snead Fantasy Stats

Oakland Athletics reliever Kirby Snead (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day injured list. Snead had been dealing with some arm issues before he was termed with a strain in his left shoulder. The 28-year-old will likely miss the first two months of the season, which already depletes a lackluster A's bullpen. Snead showed some potential as an above-average reliever in his rookie 2021 campaign with the Toronto Blue Jays, where he posted a 2.35 ERA (4.61 FIP) with seven strikeouts across seven appearances. Once he migrated west to Oakland, Snead completely derailed and composed a horrid 5.84 ERA this past season. Once the southpaw returns, he will likely serve as depth in the back of the A's bullpen.

Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Kirby Snead had his contract selected from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday, according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network. To clear room for Snead on the roster, Toronto designated pitcher Jacob Barnes for assignment. Snead has been having a great year at Triple-A, going 2-0 with four saves, a 2.01 ERA, 0.862 WHIP and 35.5 percent strikeout rate over 31 1/3 innings of work. While he won't have much value in the majority of leagues, Snead should be a must-add off the waiver-wire in SV/HLD formats.
