Robby Snelling has Another Quality Start Thursday

Miami Marlins left-handed pitching prospect Robby Snelling allowed two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three against Triple-A Rochester. Thursday's outing was a step down from the dominance in recent starts, but still a quality start. He recorded 12 whiffs on 42 swings overall, again relying heavily on his four-seam and curveball combo. He got up to 98 mph on the heater and sat at 95 in the start. It caps an incredible August with only three earned runs in 30 innings. It comes out to a 0.90 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and a 38:9 K:BB ratio. The lefty has only gotten better since his promotion to Triple-A and could be inserted into the major league rotation at any moment. Ryan Gusto recently allowed nine runs in a start, while Adam Mazur was also recently promoted, but doesn't have the same upside as Snelling. Fantasy managers can stash him in 12-team leagues ahead of his call-up as a high-upside arm with strikeout upside.

Robby Snelling Extends Scoreless Streak

Miami Marlins pitching prospect Robby Snelling allowed four hits and three walks while striking out eight across six scoreless innings against Triple-A Worcester. Snelling has been lights out over his past three starts, extending his scoreless streak to 18 innings a 28:6 K:BB ratio. His curveball was especially effective in this outing, accounting for eight of his 10 whiffs. The lefty continues to impress at Triple-A, recording a dominant 1.13 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and a 51:10 K:BB in 39.2 innings. The 21-year-old is the number four prospect in the Marlins system, according to MLB.com.

Robby Snelling Strikes Out Nine Over Six Innings

Miami Marlins left-handed pitching prospect Robby Snelling took a tough luck loss on Wednesday as he allowed two runs (zero earned) on three hits and two walks while striking out nine against Triple-A Norfolk. Snelling pitched well overall, generating 13 whiffs on 45 swings and not allowing a ton of hard contact with an 86.6 MPH average exit velocity. The lefty has been lights out since being promoted to Triple-A Jacksonville on July 10, allowing only seven runs (five earned) across 33.2 innings with a 43:7 K:BB ratio. Snelling is young for the level at 21 years old and has looked great so far. He'll look to continue his strong performance and possibly earn a late-season call-up when rosters expand.

Robby Snelling Punches Out 11 in Win

Miami Marlins left-handed pitching prospect Robby Snelling allowed five hits and a walk while striking out 11 across six scoreless innings as he picked up the win against Triple-A Nashville. Snelling mowed through hitters with his fastball and curveball combo in Thursday's outing, generating 22 whiffs in total on 50 swings. The 21-year-old tied his season high in punchouts and has struck out a whopping 29 batters over his last three starts in 18.2 innings. Coming to Miami in the Tanner Scott deal at last year's trade deadline, Snelling has been much better this season after posting a 5.15 ERA across Double-A and Triple-A in 2024. He pitched most of 2025 at Double-A before being promoted on July 10. For the season, he owns a 3.06 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and a 119:27 K:BB ratio in 100 innings between the two levels.

Robby Snelling Shines Again at Triple-A

Miami Marlins pitching prospect Robby Snelling continued his strong start at Triple-A on Saturday, striking out 11 and generating 24 whiffs over six innings in a 3-0 loss to Durham. The 21-year-old left-hander allowed just two runs, both solo homers, while flashing a fastball that sat comfortably between 95 and 97 mph. Since his promotion to Jacksonville, Snelling has posted a 2.30 ERA with 16 strikeouts across 15 2/3 innings. With advanced poise, swing-and-miss stuff, and a fastball that plays at the top of the zone, Snelling is making a case for a late-season MLB debut.

Robby Snelling Tosses Five Shutout Frames on Thursday

Miami Marlins left-handed pitching prospect Robby Snelling tossed five shutout frames in his return to Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday evening. Snelling was recently promoted from Double-A after enjoying a productive first half. The No. 3-ranked prospect in the system made his Triple-A debut last season but appeared in just one contest. He looked quite strong in this start as he allowed just four hits and struck out three. He struggled with his command, as he allowed three free passes. Earlier in the campaign, the left-hander logged 72 1/3 innings with Double-A to the tune of a 3.61 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP. Fantasy managers in deeper formats should monitor his development, as he could contend for a late-season MLB debut if he continues to find success at the top level of the minor leagues.

Robby Snelling Headed to Triple-A Jacksonville

Miami Marlins pitching prospect Robby Snelling is moving up to Triple-A Jacksonville. The Marlins' third-ranked prospect began the year at Double-A, and although he posted a 3.61 ERA and 1.22 WHIP overall (14 starts), the lefty has been much better as of late. Over his last three starts, Snelling has allowed two earned runs in 18 innings (1.00 ERA) with a 0.89 WHIP and a 22:3 K:BB. The 6-foot-3 hurler has tallied 318 strikeouts in 291 1/3 minor league innings pitched (9.82 K/9), and the Marlins could use all the rotation help they can get, but at 21 years old and with Miami beginning to fade from the playoff race, there's no need to rush him to the majors. As a result, fantasy managers may not see him debut until 2026, but he could be a worthwhile add in very deep and NL-only leagues were he to get the call.

Robby Snelling Tallies Eight Strikeouts on Thursday

Miami Marlins left-handed pitching prospect Robby Snelling enjoyed another dominant outing at Double-A on Thursday evening. In this start, Snelling tossed five innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts. He allowed five hits and just one free pass. Since allowing four runs on June 11, Snelling has been one of the most dominant pitchers at the Double-A level. Over his last three outings, the southpaw has logged 18 innings to the tune of a 1.00 ERA and a 0.89 WHIP. During this stretch, Snelling has struck out 22 batters and served up just three walks. Fantasy managers should continue to closely monitor the 21-year-old as he should be in the mix to join Triple-A in the second half of the season. If the No. 3-ranked prospect in the system can carry his momentum into Triple-A, he could be in the mix to join Miami late in the regular season.

Robby Snelling Strikes Out Seven Across Seven Shutout Frames

Miami Marlins left-handed pitching prospect Robby Snelling tossed seven shutout frames en route to picking up the victory over Double-A Chattanooga on Wednesday. In this outing, Snelling struck out seven batters and allowed just three hits and no walks. This was Snelling's second-straight contest tallying at least seven strikeouts in a start. Since allowing four runs on June 11, Snelling has flipped the script, logging 13 innings of one-run ball with a near-perfect 14:2 K:BB. Through 67 1/3 total innings with Double-A Pensacola this season, Snelling has held a solid 3.74 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP. During this stint, Snelling has struck out 77 batters and allowed 21 walks. If he continues to find his footing at Double-A, Snelling should be in contention to earn a promotion to Triple-A Jacksonville in the second half.

Robby Snelling Strikes Out Eight Across Six Shutout Frames

Miami Marlins left-handed pitching prospect Robby Snelling struck out eight batters across six shutout frames on Wednesday evening. Snelling allowed just two hits and did not serve up a free pass. This was a much-needed bounce-back outing for the southpaw as he allowed 13 earned runs in his last three starts. However, before that rough three-game stretch, the left-hander posted a strong 1.61 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP across his first 22 1/3 innings (four starts) this season. Last season, the 21-year-old spent most of his season at the Double-A level, both in the San Diego and Miami systems. Across 109 1/3 innings, he held a 5.35 ERA with a 1.53 WHIP. Given his steady progress at Double-A this season, Snelling should be in the mix to move up to Triple-A early this season.
