Robby Snelling Punches Out Six Over Three Scoreless Frames

Miami Marlins left-handed pitching prospect Robby Snelling was sharp in relief on Thursday afternoon, tossing three scoreless frames with one hit and one walk. He struck out six. The prospect entered the contest after Sandy Alcantara got the starting nod and logged three innings himself. This was a nice bounce-back outing for Snelling as he allowed five runs (four earned) in his most recent outing on February 27 against the Phillies. Overall, Snelling has tossed 5 1/3 innings this spring and allowed four earned runs with a 1.69 WHIP. Last summer, the left-hander looked quite comfortable during his first taste of Triple-A, tossing 63 2/3 innings to the tune of a 1.27 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and an 81:17 K:BB. While Snelling appears to be on the outside of the current five-man rotation, he is still a top stash option in deeper 12+ team leagues, as he should earn the call to Miami early in the first half.

Robby Snelling Begins Spring Training with Perfect Inning

Miami Marlins left-handed pitching prospect Robby Snelling tossed a perfect inning in his spring debut on Saturday afternoon. Facing the top of the New York lineup, Snelling would generate three straight outs against Marcus Semien, Juan Soto, and Bo Bichette. While he was unable to tally any strikeouts, he made quick work of them, throwing only 10 pitches. The 22-year-old appeared to be in the mix to earn the final spot in the Miami rotation but now projects to be the season as the team's No. 6 option, and likely at Triple-A. With veteran Chris Paddack being named as a starter and both Max Meyer and Braxton Garrett healthy, Snelling projects to be on the outside for the time being. However, he would likely be the first name called in the case of an injury. Last summer, the southpaw looked quite comfortable in his first taste of Triple-A, tossing 63 2/3 innings to the tune of a 1.27 ERA and a 0.99 WHIP. He remains a worthy early-season stash candidate for those in deeper 12-team leagues.

Robby Snelling Not Projected to Make Starting Rotation

Miami Marlins left-handed pitching prospect Robby Snelling is not projected to make the team's Opening Day starting rotation, according to Christina De Nicola of MLB.com. Barring injuries, the Marlins project to roll with Sandy Alcantara, Eury Perez, Max Meyer, Braxton Garrett, and Chris Paddack as their five starting pitchers. The 22-year-old Snelling was named the Marlins' Minor-League Pitcher of the Year in 2025 after he went 9-7 with a 2.51 ERA and 1.11 WHIP with 166 strikeouts and only 39 walks in 136 innings over 25 starts with Double-A Pensacola and Triple-A Jacksonville. If an injury strikes Miami's rotation at any point this year, which it inevitably will, Snelling could very well be the next man up for the Fish. The former top-100 prospect had a 1.27 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and 26.0 K-BB% in 11 starts at Triple-A. Snelling is a must-stash in dynasty/keeper leagues with good stuff, great command, and durability.

Robby Snelling Not a Lock to Make Opening Day Rotation?

Miami Marlins left-handed pitching prospect Robby Snelling may not be a lock to make the Opening Day rotation. Earlier in camp, the Marlins announced that veteran Chris Paddack would be joining the rotation, which gives Snelling one fewer starting position. Additionally, Max Meyer and Braxton Garrett are both fully healthy in the early stages of spring training. Both would have the edge over Snelling, given their previous MLB experience. As a result, Snelling currently sits as the team's No. 6 starter, on the outside of the five-man rotation. Last summer, Snelling looked quite comfortable in his first taste of Triple-A, logging 63 2/3 innings to the tune of a 1.27 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and an 81:17 K:BB. Managers should continue to monitor his status, but it appears the 22-year-old might be ticketed for Triple-A to begin the season if the Marlins opt to deploy a five-man rotation.

Robby Snelling Earns Ticket to Spring Training

The Miami Marlins have invited left-handed pitching prospect Robby Snelling to big league spring training. Snelling was on the verge of making his MLB debut last summer and is now in serious contention to break camp with the MLB roster. He began the 2025 season with Double-A Pensacola, where he logged 72 1/3 innings with a 3.61 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP. During this stint, the southpaw struck out 85 hitters and allowed only 22 walks. However, once he moved up to Triple-A, he took a massive step forward. During his first 63 2/3 innings at Triple-A, Snelling posted an impressive 1.27 ERA with a stellar 0.99 WHIP. He struck out 81 hitters while allowing only 17 free passes. With Ryan Weathers and Edward Cabrera shipped to new clubs this winter, Snelling appears to be in a great position to break camp with the MLB roster. He is a prime late-round target with high strikeout upside.

Robby Snelling Slated for Early MLB Debut in 2026?

Miami Marlins pitching prospect Robby Snelling appears poised to compete for a starting job in the rotation during spring training. Over the past week, the Marlins have sent two of their starting pitchers, Edward Cabrera and Ryan Weathers, to competing teams in exchange for top prospects. As a result, Snelling faces even less competition to crack the rotation next month. Last summer, the southpaw was one of the most dominant pitchers at the Triple-A level. While he had a modest start to the season at Double-A, where he posted a 3.61 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP across 72 1/3 innings, he reached a new level with Jacksonville. Through 63 2/3 innings at the top level of the minor leagues, Snelling posted an elite 1.27 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, with an 81:17 K:BB. Snelling is a name to closely monitor in spring training, as he would carry high-end sleeper appeal given the strikeout upside he flashed against the top hitters in the minor leagues if he begins the season in the majors.

Robby Snelling has Another Quality Start Thursday

Miami Marlins left-handed pitching prospect Robby Snelling allowed two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three against Triple-A Rochester. Thursday's outing was a step down from the dominance in recent starts, but still a quality start. He recorded 12 whiffs on 42 swings overall, again relying heavily on his four-seam and curveball combo. He got up to 98 mph on the heater and sat at 95 in the start. It caps an incredible August with only three earned runs in 30 innings. It comes out to a 0.90 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and a 38:9 K:BB ratio. The lefty has only gotten better since his promotion to Triple-A and could be inserted into the major league rotation at any moment. Ryan Gusto recently allowed nine runs in a start, while Adam Mazur was also recently promoted, but doesn't have the same upside as Snelling. Fantasy managers can stash him in 12-team leagues ahead of his call-up as a high-upside arm with strikeout upside.

Robby Snelling Extends Scoreless Streak

Miami Marlins pitching prospect Robby Snelling allowed four hits and three walks while striking out eight across six scoreless innings against Triple-A Worcester. Snelling has been lights out over his past three starts, extending his scoreless streak to 18 innings a 28:6 K:BB ratio. His curveball was especially effective in this outing, accounting for eight of his 10 whiffs. The lefty continues to impress at Triple-A, recording a dominant 1.13 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and a 51:10 K:BB in 39.2 innings. The 21-year-old is the number four prospect in the Marlins system, according to MLB.com.

Robby Snelling Strikes Out Nine Over Six Innings

Miami Marlins left-handed pitching prospect Robby Snelling took a tough luck loss on Wednesday as he allowed two runs (zero earned) on three hits and two walks while striking out nine against Triple-A Norfolk. Snelling pitched well overall, generating 13 whiffs on 45 swings and not allowing a ton of hard contact with an 86.6 MPH average exit velocity. The lefty has been lights out since being promoted to Triple-A Jacksonville on July 10, allowing only seven runs (five earned) across 33.2 innings with a 43:7 K:BB ratio. Snelling is young for the level at 21 years old and has looked great so far. He'll look to continue his strong performance and possibly earn a late-season call-up when rosters expand.

Robby Snelling Punches Out 11 in Win

Miami Marlins left-handed pitching prospect Robby Snelling allowed five hits and a walk while striking out 11 across six scoreless innings as he picked up the win against Triple-A Nashville. Snelling mowed through hitters with his fastball and curveball combo in Thursday's outing, generating 22 whiffs in total on 50 swings. The 21-year-old tied his season high in punchouts and has struck out a whopping 29 batters over his last three starts in 18.2 innings. Coming to Miami in the Tanner Scott deal at last year's trade deadline, Snelling has been much better this season after posting a 5.15 ERA across Double-A and Triple-A in 2024. He pitched most of 2025 at Double-A before being promoted on July 10. For the season, he owns a 3.06 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and a 119:27 K:BB ratio in 100 innings between the two levels.
