Rays
The Tampa Bay Rays have added relief pitcher Tyler Zuber to their 40-man roster and optioned him to Triple-A Durham. It is a procedural move for the veteran pitcher that has not been in the big-leagues since 2021 with the Kansas City Royals. The 29-year-old has looked good this season for Durham with a 2.49 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 21 1/3 innings and this move could mean that he might get some time in Tampa Bay in the second half. Regardless of if he gets promoted or not, he can safely remain on the waiver wire.

Guardians Sign Tyler Zuber To Minor-League Deal
The Cleveland Guardians signed free-agent right-hander Tyler Zuber to a minor-league deal on Wednesday that includes a non-roster invite to major-league spring training. Zuber made 54 appearances out of the Kansas City Royals' bullpen in 2020 and 2021 and spent last year in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization following shoulder surgery in 2022. The 28-year-old reliever will give the Guardians some extra right-handed relief depth to open up the 2024 season but can be ignored everywhere in fantasy. In 20 2/3 innings at Triple-A Reno in 2023, he had a 5.23 ERA with 18 strikeouts and 10 walks. In his two seasons with the Royals, Zuber posted a 5.29 ERA, 55 strikeouts and 37 walks in 49 1/3 relief innings. Expect him to open the year with Triple-A Columbus.

Tyler Zuber Claimed Off Waivers By Diamondbacks
The Arizona Diamondbacks claimed right-hander Tyler Zuber off waivers from the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday. Zuber was placed on the 60-day injured list with right shoulder impingement syndrome on March 16 and didn't pitch at all in the big leagues in 2022. In his two seasons with the Royals in 2020 and 2021, Zuber had a 5.29 ERA (5.96 FIP), a 1.58 WHIP and a 55:37 K:BB in 49 1/3 innings pitched over 54 relief appearances. The 27-year-old resumed throwing off flat ground in recent weeks and has a shot to be ready for spring training with Arizona in 2023.

Tyler Zuber Resumes Throwing
Kansas City Royals right-handed reliever Tyler Zuber (shoulder) posted a video on his Twitter account on Wednesday of him throwing again on flat ground. Zuber missed all of the 2022 season while recovering from a right shoulder impingement, but he looks to be healthy now and ready to pitch in 2023. The 27-year-old has posted a 5.29 ERA (5.96 FIP), a 1.58 WHIP and a 55:37 K:BB in 49 1/3 innings in his two major-league seasons with the Royals in 2020 and 2021. He went 0-3 with a rough 6.26 ERA (6.17 FIP), a 1.57 WHIP, 25 strikeouts and 17 walks in 27 1/3 relief innings in his most recent season in 2021.
