Astros
Houston Astros starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti is available to pitch out of the bullpen this weekend, according to manager Joe Espada. The right-hander is scheduled to start on Sunday, but it sounds like the team would rather use him out of the bullpen. The assumption is that Arrighetti is going to be used as a reliever in the postseason, so they might be trying to gear him up for that. The rookie right-hander hasn't pitched out of the bullpen yet as he holds a 4.61 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and 167/62 K/BB ratio across 28 starts in Houston.

Spencer Arrighetti Dominates Phillies In Seventh Win
Houston Astros starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti made a statement in Wednesday afternoon's victory over the hosting Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Banks Park, throwing 7 2/3 shutout innings with 11 strikeouts. Arrighetti was stellar on the road on Wednesday against a vaunted Phillies lineup, taking a no-hitter into the eighth inning and ultimately scattering two hits and four walks for his seventh win of the year. The 24-year-old rookie right-hander endured a tough start to his big-league career, logging a 2.77 ERA, 71 punchouts, 18 walks, and three wins over his last 55 1/3 frames (nine starts) for the Astros. He's closing in on must-start fantasy status going forward.

Spencer Arrighetti Bounces Back With Six Scoreless Innings
Houston Astros starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti was terrific on Thursday, shutting out the Baltimore Orioles for six innings in a 6-0 win. Arrighetti fanned six O's while allowing just three hits and a walk. The 24-year-old has had his ups and downs this year with control being his biggest issue, but he has walked two or fewer in six straight starts while maintaining strong strikeout numbers. After a bit of shakiness against the White Sox last time out, it was a great sign that the rookie rebounded with one of his strongest starts of the year against a very good Orioles team. Those who held onto Arrighetti through his last start should feel good about it, and if he is available in any standard-size leagues he should be picked up.

Spencer Arrighetti Fans 13 On Saturday, Picks Up Win
Houston Astros starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti struck out 13 batters in seven innings of work and picked up the win in the Astros' 5-4 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Saturday. Arrighetti improved his record to 5-10 and he now has a 5.14 ERA on the season. The Astros' rookie has now recorded 12+ strikeouts in back-to-back starts. After a rough start to the season, Arrighetti has started to come into better form as of late. His 5.14 ERA is paired with a 4.06 xERA, telling us that positive regression should be headed the 24-year-old's way. As Houston has worked its way back into the lead in the AL West they will take everything they can get from Arrighetti. The right-hander will look to continue his hot streak next Friday when the Astros host the Chicago White Sox. Fantasy managers and DFS managers alike should be sure to target Arrighetti for that matchup with Chicago posting just a 75 wRC+ over the last 14 days, making it a prime matchup for the rookie.

Spencer Arrighetti Punches Out Career-High 12 Batters
Houston Astros starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti had a stellar performance on Sunday, striking out 12 over six one-run innings against the Tampa Bay Rays. He allowed just five hits and two walks. Unfortunately, he took the loss as the Astros were unable to generate any offense. Arrighetti has shown flashes of brilliance in his rookie season, but his lack of control and tendency to get hit hard when things aren't working have his season numbers looking pretty rough. If he can figure it out in the future, his upside is sky-high. For this year though, he should probably only be used as a streamer in favorable matchups or when strikeouts are a big need.

Spencer Arrighetti Records 10 Strikeouts
Houston Astros starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti was impressive on the mound during Wednesday's outing against the Colorado Rockies. The rookie right-hander struck out 10 batters over seven shutout innings during Wednesday's win. The Rockies' hitters only managed three hits off Arrighetti as he put together his best performance of the season. It's worth noting that Arrighetti was hit around by the White Sox and Tigers during his two previous outings. He'll be a boom-or-bust option for his next start against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Spencer Arrighetti Fans Career-High Eight In Third Win
Houston Astros rookie starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti gave the team's injury-plagued rotation a lift in Thursday's start against the division-rival Seattle Mariners, throwing six scoreless innings on two hits and three walks with eight strikeouts for his third win of the season. It was easily Arrighetti's best start in the major leagues thus far, achieving a career-high figure in punchouts. Even so, the 24-year-old rookie right-hander still carries a weak 5.98 ERA, 1.65 WHIP, and 51:23 K;BB through 43 2/3 frames (nine starts) for the Astros this season. Arrighetti is slated to toe the rubber next on Tuesday in a favorable matchup at home against the St. Louis Cardinals, so his strikeout upside will make him a reasonable streaming option in fantasy on the heels of his most encouraging MLB performance.

Spencer Arrighetti Fans Seven In Loss
Houston Astros starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti struck out seven batters over five innings of work in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Athletics. Arrighetti also allowed five hits and walked three batters in the contest, ultimately taking the loss in the game. His record now stands at 2-5 with a 6.93 ERA and 1.78 WHIP. The righty has a decent 24.3% K%, but a BB% of 11.3% reduces his K-BB% to 13.0%. The 24-year-old will get the Twins at home in his next start, and for what it's worth, he's been better at home with a 4.29 ERA and .253 opponent batting average versus a 10.26 ERA and .360 opponent batting average on the road.

Spencer Arrighetti Strikes Out Six On Thursday
Houston Astros right-hander Spencer Arrighetti turned in a solid performance in an 8-2 win over the Cleveland Guardians on Thursday. Arrighetti allowed two runs on four hits over 5 2/3 innings while striking out six and walking three but had to settle for a no-decision. The outing was a welcome sight for Arrighetti, who has struggled in 2024, posting a 8.27 ERA and a 1.96 WHIP across four starts. Fantasy managers will need to see a few more performances like Thursday's out of Arrighetti before they can trust him as a potential streaming option. His net start is scheduled to come on Wednesday on the road against the New York Yankees.

Spencer Arrighetti Shows Solid Stuff Thursday
Houston Astros starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti was solid in an 8-2 win over the Cleveland Guardians on Thursday. Arrighetti didn't end up getting the win with the Astros doing most of their damage late in the game, but he spun 5 frames of two-run ball and looked better than he has in any start this season. The 24-year-old gave up four hits and three walks while striking out six to round out his line. He has some prospect pedigree and is worth keeping an eye on in fantasy leagues as he has shown strong swing-and-miss stuff despite poor results early in his career.
