The Baltimore Orioles agreed to terms on an undisclosed one-year deal with free-agent left-hander Tucker Davidson on Monday. Davidson joined the Orioles this offseason after being claimed off waivers from the Kansas City Royals after he was non-tendered. The 27-year-old southpaw spent the 2023 regular season with the Royals and Los Angeles Angels. In his 38 appearances (one starts) with the Angels and Royals last season, Davidson had a 5.96 ERA (4.27 FIP) and 1.62 WHIP with two saves, 19 walks and a career-high 46 strikeouts in 51 1/3 innings pitched. Davidson has been mediocre in four major-league seasons with a 5.98 ERA (5.09 FIP) and 1.62 WHIP in 125 innings over 55 outings (17 starts).
Orioles Claim Tucker Davidson Off Waivers From Royals
The Baltimore Orioles claimed left-hander Tucker Davidson off waivers from the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday. Davidson appeared in 38 games (one start) for the Royals and Los Angeles Angels in 2023, posting a combined 5.96 ERA (4.27 FIP), 1.62 WHIP, two saves, 19 walks and a career-high 46 strikeouts in 51 1/3 innings pitched. The 27-year-old southpaw was slightly better with the Royals in 20 appearances (one start), allowing 12 runs (11 earned) while walking eight and striking out 15 in 19 2/3 innings. Davidson has started 17 games in his major-league career over four seasons, but it's unclear what role the Orioles plan to use him in heading into the 2024 campaign.
The Kansas City Royals acquired left-hander Tucker Davidson from the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations. The move comes after the Angels designated Davidson for assignment last Thursday. The 27-year-old southpaw struggled in his time with the Halos this year, allowing 25 runs (23 earned) on 44 hits while walking 11 and striking out 31 in 31 2/3 relief innings over 18 appearances out of the bullpen. He also recorded his first two career saves. Davidson will now join Kansas City's bullpen in a long-relief role, which won't give him any fantasy appeal.
Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Tucker Davidson earned the win against the Minnesota Twins Sunday, throwing six innings and allowing two runs on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Davidson has pitched in two games, both starts, since coming over from the Atlanta Braves at the trade deadline, giving up eight total runs in 10 innings in those outings. For the season he has a 6.75 ERA and 1.74 WHIP with 14 strikeouts in 25 1/3 innings, numbers which keep him well off the fantasy radar despite his expected expanded opportunity with the Angels.
Tucker Davidson Called Up to Start Against Brewers
Atlanta Braves left-hander Tucker Davidson is being called up from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday in order to start against the Milwaukee Brewers. Left-hander Tyler Matzek (shoulder) is going on the injured list with a left shoulder issue. Davidson made one relief appearance for the Braves earlier this year, allowing five earned runs on five hits in just 2 2/3 innings, so he should be avoided as a fantasy streamer against Milwaukee in his first start of the season. In 26 1/3 innings at Gwinnett, the 26-year-old has a 4.44 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, nine walks and 34 strikeouts.
Tucker Davidson Will Start For Atlanta On Saturday
Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Tucker Davidson will take the mound for the team in a start on Saturday against the Minnesota Twins, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Justin Toscano. Davidson made his Major League debut last season with Atlanta, pitching to a 3.60 ERA and a 4.52 FIP in four starts spanning 20 innings. The left-handed starter also registered 18 strikeouts and eight walks in those 20 innings. Atlanta's other rotation options currently include fellow left-hander Max Fried and right-handed pitchers Charlie Morton, Ian Anderson, Kyle Wright, and Huascar Ynoa.
Tucker Davidson Replaces Charlie Morton On World Series Roster
Left-handed pitcher Tucker Davidson has been added to the Atlanta Braves' World Series roster as a replacement for injured pitcher Charlie Morton (leg). Morton suffered a fractured right fibula during the team's Game 1 win against the Houston Astros and will miss the rest of the series. A starter for most of his career, Davidson made four starts for Atlanta during the regular season, pitching to a 3.60 ERA and a 4.52 FIP in 20 innings while striking out 18 batters and surrendering eight walks.
Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Tucker Davidson (forearm) was placed on the injured list on Thursday. The southpaw left Tuesday's start because of forearm tightness and will now be shut down for the next 10 days before being reevaluated. It's feasible that the team won't take any chances with the 25-year-old, who is currently sitting on a 3.6 ERA throughout four starts, so he may not be back on the hill for at least a few turns through the rotation. It's unknown who will take Davidson's spot in the order, although skipper Brian Snitker may play the matchups moving forward.
Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Tucker Davidson (forearm) was removed from Tuesday's matchup against the Boston Red Sox. The 25-year-old was experiencing forearm tightness, and he lasted just over two innings of work. The southpaw, who was recently brought up from Triple-A Gwinnett back at the beginning of June, has had flashes of efficiency this season. Fantasy managers are undoubtedly disappointed with this latest development and will be even more heartbroken if Davidson takes a trip to the injured list. More information should be coming soon.
Atlanta Braves pitching prospect Tucker Davidson was almost untouchable on Sunday when he allowed just one hit a solo homer in six innings of work. He also issued one walk but he struck out nine batters. In three Triple-A starts this season, Davidson has a 0.90 ERA and has given up just eight hits in 20 innings of work. He also has a K-BB ratio of 23-4. The 25-year-old lefty made a spot start for the Braves at the MLB level last week and allowed three runs in six innings of work. He struck out five batters. Davidson has a solid chance to impact the 2021 fantasy season and appears to be fully MLB-ready. He has the ceiling of a No. 3 starter.
