Starting pitcher Tyler Stuart has been promoted from the Double-A Harrisburg Senators to the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings. Stuart will prepare for his second stint with Rochester. Stuart was recently traded to the Nationals from the Mets for outfielder Jesse Winker. In two starts with his new organization (11 IP), Stuart's posted a 2.45 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and 14:4 K/BB. Overall, he's got a 3.79 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and 104:24 K/BB through 95 innings in 2024. Washington's No. 16 prospect (per MLB.com), he could make his big-league debut by the end of this season.

This performance was the deepest he has gone in a game this season, and his 12 punchouts are a new single-game career-high. This dominant outing brings him to a 3.45 ERA and 1.40 WHIP across 15 2/3 innings at Double-A this season. The 24-year-old posted a similar 3.60 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in 35 innings at Double-A last season. Stuart could make a late-season push for a promotion to Triple-A and the majors, and this performance is an excellent step in that direction.
