Tyler Stuart Promoted To Triple-A

Starting pitcher Tyler Stuart has been promoted from the Double-A Harrisburg Senators to the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings. Stuart will prepare for his second stint with Rochester. The former sixth-round pick pitched just three innings in Grapefruit League play this spring, compiling a 6.00 ERA and 0.67 WHIP with a 4:1 K:BB rate. Stuart was superb in 2023 while spending time across two levels. However, he faltered last season upon being promoted to Triple-A -- albeit in a small sample. The 25-year-old ranks as a top-15 prospect for the Nationals, and he may make his way to Washington in 2025 for his first taste of big-league action. Stuart's fastball (sinker) is liable to be hit hard, but his slider profiles as a plus pitch and got a 41% whiff rate across all levels in 2024.

Tyler Stuart Fans Nine On Sunday

Washington Nationals starting pitching prospect Tyler Stuart threw six scoreless innings for Double-A Harrisburg on Sunday, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out nine. Stuart was recently traded to the Nationals from the Mets for outfielder Jesse Winker. In two starts with his new organization (11 IP), Stuart's posted a 2.45 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and 14:4 K/BB. Overall, he's got a 3.79 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and 104:24 K/BB through 95 innings in 2024. Washington's No. 16 prospect (per MLB.com), he could make his big-league debut by the end of this season.

Tyler Stuart Strikes Out 12 On Thursday

New York Mets starting pitching prospect Tyler Stuart tossed six innings of one-run ball and struck out 12 batters on Thursday. He allowed four hits and one free pass. This performance was the deepest he has gone in a game this season, and his 12 punchouts are a new single-game career-high. This dominant outing brings him to a 3.45 ERA and 1.40 WHIP across 15 2/3 innings at Double-A this season. The 24-year-old posted a similar 3.60 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in 35 innings at Double-A last season. Stuart could make a late-season push for a promotion to Triple-A and the majors, and this performance is an excellent step in that direction.
