Monday Night Football DFS Preview: Patriots at Bills
Monday Night Football DFS Preview
Monday night's showdown between the Buffalo Bills (7-4) and the New England Patriots (8-4) has far-reaching implications for the AFC East race and the general AFC playoff picture. It looks like the teams will have to battle for division supremacy in the elements as high winds and extreme cold are in the forecast in Buffalo on Monday night. If you're thinking about placing a wager on this game, make sure you learn the three types of gambling sites in order to maximize your return.
That being said, there are plenty of options for Monday's Showdown slate on DraftKings. Here is a look at how to construct your lineup.
Captain Spot
Josh Allen, QB, Bills, $16,800
You have to pay way up to get him, but Allen is the clear standout in this game. The aforementioned weather does make this a little bit uncertain, but Allen is by far the best option in this spot in this game. Allen is coming off of a 28.7 point performance last week in DraftKings scoring. It hasn't always been pretty this season for Allen, but in the biggest game of its season so far, expect Buffalo to count on its biggest star. Allen is a threat to put up 40 DK points in any game and that's what you want in your captain spot.
Flex plays
Cole Beasley, WR, Bills, $7,800
Beasley is the Bills possession receiver and he could see a big role if the wind gusts are strong enough to limit deep shots from Josh Allen. Beasley has had single-digit outings the past three games, but he has three games this season with 20-plus points. Expect tonight to buy a busy one for Beasley against a tough New England defense.
Jakobi Meyers, WR, Patriots, $7,200
Meyers is starting to emerge as the favorite target of Mac Jones. The knock-on Meyers has always been the touchdowns, but he has remained heavily involved in the offense even if he hasn't cashed in with red-zone TDs. In Week 10 he scored his first career touchdown in the team's win over the Browns. Despite his lack of touchdowns, Meyers still has six games this season with double-digit DK points. Look for Mac Jones to target Meyers often and with Tre'Davious White injured, Meyers gets a more favorable matchup against the Bills secondary. Count on a heavy workload while a TD would be a bonus.
Dawson Knox, TE, Bills, $5,400
Knox has had two straight big games for the Bills and should continue to see high usage in this offense. Like Beasley, Knox's ability to work the short area and middle of the field should benefit him in tonight's game. He has become a reliable target for Josh Allen in the red zone and has seven TDs this season. Expect more of the same on Monday night. Fit Knox into your lineup with confidence.
Brandon Bolden, RB, Patriots, $3,200
Bolden is questionable for this game, so you will have to check and make sure he is playing before kickoff. If he does suit up for this one, he could have a nice role as the third-down and change of pace back. Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson are both available, so Bolden will have a very specific role and a somewhat limited outlook. But at his price, he could come through if the Patriots are chasing points and using him as a receiver out of the backfield. It's a shot worth taking to make your lineup different.
Gabriel Davis, WR, Bills, $1,200
If you are looking for a salary saver, you could do much worse than Gabriel Davis. Davis does not get much more than five targets in a game typically, but he has proven he can make the most of the passes Josh Allen throws his way. He has three games this season with a touchdown and one game with 100-plus receiving yards. At his salary, it just takes one big play for him to pay off. Plug him in and hope for that big play.
