Miles McBride News
New York Knicks guard Miles McBride logged a season-high 47 minutes in Sunday's 107-98 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, collecting 16 points on 6-for-15 shooting, five assists, four three-pointers, and one rebound. Thrust into a ridiculous workload with Jalen Brunson (knee) hobbling off the court early, McBride came off the bench and didn't sit for the remainder of the contest following the All-Star's injury. Over McBride's four showings without Brunson in New York's lineup this season, the 23-year-old spot-up shooter is averaging 17.5 points, 4.8 dimes, 4.3 boards, 3.0 treys, and 1.5 steals in 42.2 minutes. With Brunson questionable at best for Tuesday's matchup versus the Atlanta Hawks, McBride is well worth a speculative add off fantasy waiver wires. The Hawks give up the second-most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards, and they are tied for the worst defensive efficiency rating (117.6).
New York Knicks guard Miles McBride will be with the organization for at least one more season. On Wednesday, the Knicks decided to pick up the $1.8 million team option on McBride. This seemed like a no-brainer for the Knicks with how well McBride played in limited action for the team. Last season, McBride only averaged 11.9 minutes per game, but the team was 20-5 in games where McBride played more than 15 minutes. The 22-year-old has hopefully earned himself a bigger role on the team going forward.
New York Knicks point guard Miles McBride had a strong Summer League game in the team's 102-89 win over the Orlando Magic on Thursday. He scored a team-high 23 points while adding five rebounds, five assists and three steals. He was efficient in the game, shooting 9-for-13 from the field and 4-for-5 from the free throw line. McBride has had a nice Summer League overall, averaging 16.8 points, 5.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game while committing just 2.3 turnovers per game. It's unlikely he'll break the team's rotation this year when the Knicks are healthy, but if he winds up being traded to a team with a less crowded backcourt, he could wind up being a fantasy contributor.
New York Knicks point guard Miles McBride (knee) has been ruled out for Saturday's game vs. Cleveland due to right knee soreness. McBride had been previously tagged as probable, but the Knicks have opted to keep him sidelined. While the rookie's playing time began to grow in March, he has logged 20 or more minutes just twice this year, severely limiting any kind of fantasy intrigue. His absence is likely to open a few additional backcourt minutes, which could be absorbed by Immanuel Quickley or Ryan Arcidiacono. McBride's next chance to return to action comes Sunday against the Magic.
