Mohamed Diawara Could Earn Bigger Role with Knicks

New York Knicks forward Mohamed Diawara could push for a larger rotation role in his second season, with The Athletic's James L. Edwards III writing that he would not be surprised if the 21-year-old becomes a staple by midseason. Diawara averaged 3.6 points and 1.4 rebounds in 9.2 minutes across 69 games as a rookie, but his best stretch came when Miles McBride missed 27 straight games. During that run, Diawara averaged 5.9 points in 14.2 minutes while shooting 40.5 percent from three. OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Hart still block a clean path to minutes, so Diawara remains off the fantasy radar unless injuries or a trade open the wing rotation.

Mohamed Diawara Expected to be Ready for Training Camp

New York Knicks forward Mohamed Diawara (finger) has resumed on-court workouts and is expected to be ready for the beginning of training camp in September. Diawara injured his finger during the Summer League, which required him to undergo surgery. It sounds worse than it is, with Diawara already back to doing basketball activities. Last season, Diawara averaged 3.6 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 9.2 minutes per game across 69 contests. He figures to be part of the rotation, but Diawara is unlikely to see enough playing time to warrant looking at in fantasy formats.

Mohamed Diawara Plans to Re-Sign with Knicks

New York Knicks forward Mohamed Diawara plans to re-sign on a multiyear deal worth more than $10 million, ESPN's Shams Charania reports. Diawara made the title team as a 2025 second-rounder on a standard deal but played a limited role, averaging 3.6 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 9.2 minutes across 69 games. He saw only limited playoff action, and his production remained modest, though his 37 percent shooting from deep hinted at long-term 3-and-D upside for the 21-year-old French forward. On a stacked New York roster, Diawara carries no fantasy weight right now. His re-signing is a low-cost developmental bet, not a move that shifts any rotation outlook.

Mohamed Diawara Starting on Saturday Night

New York Knicks forward Mohamed Diawara will start in Saturday's meeting with the Atlanta Hawks. Josh Hart (ankle) will miss the next few games, at the very least, after tweaking his ankle in the Christmas win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Diawara has started once this season, amassing five points, three boards, and one steal. He's not expected to be more productive than that, with the Knicks likely leaning more on Tyler Kolek and Jordan Clarkson to fill the void in the rotation.
