Ravens, Broderick Washington Agree To Three-Year Deal
The Baltimore Ravens and defensive tackle Broderick Washington agreed to a new three-year, $17.5 million contract on Wednesday that includes $6.3 million combined in signing and option bonuses with $10 million total guaranteed, according to his agent, Evan Krakower. The former fifth-rounder out of Texas Tech in 2020 had by far his best season in 2022 in his third NFL campaign, recording 49 tackles (25 solo), one sack, four QB hits and six passes defensed in 17 games (nine starts) for Baltimore's defense last year. The 26-year-old was entering the final year of his rookie deal in 2023 and was set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2024, so the Ravens will keep him around longer as an asset in the middle of their defensive line.
Ravens Add Defensive Tackle Broderick Washington Jr.
With the 170th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens added another promising piece to their defense in Texas Tech defensive tackle Broderick Washington Jr. A powerful defender who can stop rushers over the middle, Washingtons lack of a pass rush will make it hard for him to be on the field on passing downs. But as a run-stopping nose tackle, Washington is an intriguing prospect.
