Kyle Hamilton News
Baltimore Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton earned the top grade among safeties in the NFL in his rookie season last year, according to Pro Football Focus. Hamilton spent more time in the slot and near the line of scrimmage than in a traditional safety location, though, and he also didn't see significant starting snaps until later in the season. With the Ravens trading Chuck Clark to the New York Jets this offseason, Hamilton will occupy safety more as it's traditionally defined in his sophomore season. The former first-rounder is excited about the expanded role. "I feel like I can slide into that role for sure and perform at a high level," Hamilton said. "I feel like that's what the Ravens drafted me for and that's what I'm here for, and I feel like I can definitely produce."
The Baltimore Ravens and first-round defensive back Kyle Hamilton agreed to terms on a four-year, fully guaranteed rookie contract worth $16.255 million on Tuesday with a signing bonus of $9.002 million, according to a source. Hamilton, the No. 14 overall pick, will receive a fifth-year club option as well. The Ravens acted quickly to give their secondary some high-end depth after they were decimated by injuries in 2021. With returning healthy players and with the addition of Hamilton, Baltimore's secondary should be much better this season. The 21-year-old from Notre Dame is versatile and will give the Ravens a physical and rangy presence in the middle of their secondary.
The Baltimore Ravens selected Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton with the No. 14 overall pick of the 2022 NFL draft on Thursday night. Hamilton is extremely versatile and will allow the Ravens to be multiple with their looks in the secondary. He can cover a ton of ground and is incredibly fast at 6-foot-4. Hamilton finished with 41 tackles, 10 passes defensed and four interceptions while earning freshman All-American honors in his first collegiate season. Not only can he cover tons of ground, but he is a strong tackler in the open field and can cover both tight ends and running backs, which will give the Ravens plenty of options on D. Hamilton is considered one of the best safety prospects in the last five years.
