Emery Jones to Start Training Camp on NFI List

Baltimore Ravens rookie third-round offensive tackle Emery Jones (shoulder) will start training camp this summer on the Non-Football Injury list as he rehabs from shoulder surgery, according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. It shouldn't come as a surprise after head coach John Harbaugh said last month that Jones wouldn't be ready for the start of camp. Now the question becomes whether he'll be ready for the start of the regular season in early September. It's unclear when the 21-year-old from LSU will be able to get back on the field for Baltimore, but it now puts into question whether he will be able to compete for the starting right guard job early in 2025. The 6-foot-5, 315-pounder was a quality starter for the Tigers in college and should eventually push for a starting job in his rookie season, it's just a matter of when that will happen.

Ravens "Hopeful" Emery Jones Jr. Will be Ready for Training Camp

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said he's "hopeful" that rookie offensive lineman Emery Jones Jr. (shoulder) will be available "at some point" during training camp this summer. Jones has been dealing with a shoulder injury and has been unable to take part in offseason practices as he gets ready for his first year in the NFL. The 21-year-old third-rounder out of LSU has already lost valuable development time this spring and doesn't look likely to be ready for the start of training camp. When he's cleared to join the rest of his teammates, Jones figures to be competing for playing time at right guard on Baltimore's offensive line. The 6-foot-5, 315-pounder might be eased into a role in his first year in the NFL, but at the very least, he should be pushing for playing time at some point in 2025.

Emery Jones Jr. Might Be Out Until Training Camp

Baltimore Ravens rookie third-round offensive lineman Emery Jones Jr. (shoulder) is dealing with a shoulder injury and might not be able to practice with the team until training camp this summer, according to head coach John Harbaugh. Jones' injury doesn't appear to be all that serious, but the Ravens are going to play it safe with the LSU product during offseason workouts before training camp begins. When the 21-year-old offensive lineman is fully healthy and returns to practice, he's expected to mix in at right guard for the Ravens. Depending on how things shake out, he could also be a backup option at right tackle behind Roger Rosengarten. Expect Jones to enter his rookie season in the NFL as a reserve offensive lineman.
