Kirk Cousins Likely To Wait Until Saturday To Waive No-Trade Clause
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins could watch the first round of this year's NFL draft on Thursday night to see what the QB landscape looks like before waiving his no-trade clause on Friday to allow for a possible trade. However, Underdog's James Palmer writes that it seems more and more likely that Cousins could be waiting to see how the second round plays out on Friday night before making any decisions. The 36-year-old veteran signal-caller has made it clear that he wants to be a starter elsewhere over serving as Michael Penix Jr.'s backup in 2025. After Penix took over for the struggling Cousins late last year, the veteran QB prefers to be traded to a team that doesn't have a young up-and-coming signal-caller on the roster already. The Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings have been mentioned as the three most likely candidates to consider trading for Cousins during the draft.

Titans Likely To Use Tyler Lockett In The Slot
The Tennessee Titans signed veteran free-agent wide receiver Tyler Lockett to a one-year, $4 million deal on Wednesday. According to Titans insider Paul Kuharsky, the team views him as "primarily a slot who can still threaten downfield and be used on some outside routes." Before this signing, Van Jefferson or Treylon Burks was slated to be Tennessee's No. 2 receiver behind Calvin Ridley following the departure of Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. Lockett brings another veteran presence to the wide receiver room, and he'll presumably catch passes from rookie quarterback Cam Ward in 2025. While Lockett's arrival slightly improves Tennessee's pass-catching group, they are likely to continue to address the position on Day 2 or Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Breece Hall Available For Trade?
According to NFL insider Josina Anderson's sources, New York Jets running back Breece Hall could be available via trade. Anderson reports that league sources have heard about the potential of his availability "within the last week and a half." The 2022 second-round pick out of Iowa State posted a career-low 4.2 yards per carry last season, and head coach Aaron Glenn has hinted at New York moving to a committee approach in the backfield. With the 2025 NFL Draft set to kick off on Thursday night, Hall could be a trade candidate during Day 2 or Day 3. The 23-year-old has flashed at times during his three-year pro career, but a change of scenery could help or hurt his fantasy football outlook moving forward. Hall has compiled 2,333 rushing yards, 1,292 receiving yards, and 22 total touchdowns in 40 career games.

Greg Newsome, Ogbo Okoronkwo Could Be Available Via Trade During The Draft
Cleveland Browns cornerback Greg Newsome and defensive end Ogbo Okoronkwo are two players that are believed to be available via trade during this week's NFL draft, sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. Okoronkwo has 7.5 sacs over the last two seasons, while Newsome is entering the final year of his current deal in 2025. Newsome, who the team selected 26th overall in the 2021 draft out of Northwestern, has a $13.4 million salary cap hit this year, which is another reason for Cleveland to consider trading him. The 24-year-old is a versatile defensive back for the Browns, but he had a career-low 27 tackles (24 solo), one interception and five pass breakups in 13 games (three starts) in 2024 in his fourth year in the league. Okoronkwo, 30, had three sacks, 23 tackles (15 solo), five tackles for loss and six QB hits in 16 games (five starts) in his second year with the Browns.

Paris Johnson Jr. Completely Healthy This Offseason
Arizona Cardinals left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. (knee) said he was "completely" good to go as the team started their offseason program on Tuesday. Despite injuring his knee last year, Johnson finished the 2024 season as a Pro Bowl alternate and was a key piece of Arizona's offensive line as they helped running back James Conner go for over 1,000 yards rushing for the second straight season. The 23-year-old injured his knee in Week 15. Johnson was the sixth overall pick in 2023 out of Ohio State and played his rookie season at right tackle before switching over to the left side last year. 2025 will mark the first time Johnson will play the same position in back-to-back seasons since high school. Johnson started all 17 games at right tackle in his first year in the NFL in 2023 but was limited to 14 starts due to his knee injury a year ago.

Derrick Brown Expected To Be Ready For Start Of Season
Carolina Panthers Pro Bowl defensive lineman Derrick Brown (knee) said he's doing great in his recovery from a meniscus injury and has been participating in offseason workouts. Brown has been doing what doctors and trainers are telling him and expects to be ready for the start of the 2025 regular season this fall. The 27-year-old defensive end played in just one game for the Panthers in 2024 due to his knee injury after starting 17 games in back-to-back seasons in 2022 and 2023. He was a first-time Pro Bowler in 2023, racking up a career-best 103 tackles (57 solo), two sacks, seven tackles for loss, 15 QB hits, one interception and six pass breakups. Carolina's pass rush will be in a much better place if Brown, the former seventh overall pick in 2020 out of Auburn, can return to his pre-injury form. The same can be said for Brown's value in IDP fantasy leagues if he's 100 percent healthy.

George Kittle Wants To Be Highest-Paid Tight End
San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle wants to become the league's highest-paid tight end, a league source told The Athletic's Dianna Russini. Kittle would have to top the four-year, $76 million deal that 25-year-old Trey McBride recently inked with the Arizona Cardinals. So far the 49ers' offers to Kittle have been rebuffed, and the two sides are far apart from a deal, which is why Kittle didn't show up to the start of the team's voluntary offseason workouts earlier this week. He will be turning 32 in October and is set to enter the start of the final year of his current deal in 2025. Other teams are keeping an eye out, but so far, Kittle isn't requesting a trade. Despite being on the wrong side of 30, Kittle finished as the TE2 in PPR scoring in 2024 thanks to 78 catches, 1,106 yards and eight touchdowns in 15 games. He'll be an injury-prone, high-end fantasy TE1 that thrives on per-target efficiency rather than volume.

Tyler Lockett Joining The Titans
Former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett announced on X that he is "excited to be a Tennessee Titan!!" Terms of Lockett's deal with Tennessee are unknown. After a career year from Jaxon-Smith Njigba in Seattle in his second season in the league in 2024, the Seahawks deemed the 32-year-old Lockett to be expendable after he caught 49 of his 74 targets for only 600 yards and two touchdowns in 14 starts. Lockett's 600 yards and two touchdowns were his lowest totals in a single season since his third year in the league in 2017. He's no longer the same wideout he was that posted four straight 1,000-yard seasons from 2019-22, but he could wind up being the Titans' No. 2 pass-catcher behind Calvin Ridley in 2025. Lockett will most likely be working with rookie quarterback Cam Ward, who is fully expected to be taken at No. 1 overall in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft on Thursday night. UPDATE: Lockett signed a one-year, $4 million deal.

Saints Won't Pick Up Fifth-Year Option On Trevor Penning
The New Orleans Saints will not be picking up the fifth-year option on offensive lineman Trevor Penning for the 2026 season. They announced earlier on Wednesday that they will pick up the fifth-year option for wide receiver Chris Olave. It's a no-brainer decision for the Saints on the 25-year-old Penning, who hasn't exactly panned out as a reliable starter on their offensive line since they took him 19th overall in 2022 out of Northern Iowa. He did start all 17 games at right tackle for the Saints in 2024 after starting just six games in his first two years in the league in 2022 and 2023, but Penning was a liability in pass protection for beat-up quarterback Derek Carr (shoulder) and those that replaced him due to injury. With the news, Penning is now scheduled to become a free agent after the upcoming 2025 season.

Nick Chubb Not Interested In Retirement
While long-time Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (foot) remains on the free-agent market on the eve of the 2025 NFL draft, he doesn't appear to be considering retirement. "They've already wrote my ending when I'm just getting started," Chubb wrote on Instagram, adding a bat emoji. Chubb also posted a video on his social media page of him squatting significant weight, which is something he hadn't really done since a devastating knee injury that he suffered early in the 2023 season. The 29-year-old second-rounder and four-time Pro Bowler returned to play in eight games for the Browns in 2024 but didn't look like the same guy, averaging a career-worst 3.3 yards per carry on 102 rushing attempts for 332 yards and three touchdowns. Chubb also suffered a season-ending foot fracture in December, which no doubt has many teams skeptical about how much he can offer moving forward.

George Pickens Drawing Trade Interest
Sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz that multiple teams have brought up Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens' name up in trade discussions, and he's a name to watch with the 2025 NFL draft kicking off on Thursday night. The Steelers aren't actively shopping Pickens, but trade talks have taken place as the 24-year-old pass-catcher enters the final year of his contract in 2025. The Steelers could use some more draft capital after giving away their second-rounder this year to acquire DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks, but they are also excited about the possibilities in 2025 with Metcalf and Pickens sharing the field on offense. It sounds like the Steelers aren't in a rush to get rid of Pickens, even though his long-term future with the organization is in question, but they could give in if a team offers them something too good to pass up. Rashee Rice Taking Part In Offseason Program
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes confirmed that wide receiver Rashee Rice (knee) is healthy and has been taking part in the team's voluntary offseason workouts. "The expectations are high," Mahomes said of Rice. "I mean, he looks really good. He's running routes. He's catching the football. I don't know when we get back into the actual OTAs, how much he'll be able to do, but he's been able to do everything here, as far as running routes and everything like that." It's great news for the 25-year-old, who suffered a season-ending LCL tear in Week 4 against the Chargers last year. The Chiefs will likely be cautious with Rice when OTAs begin, but barring a setback, he's fully expected to be ready for training camp and the start of the 2025 regular season this fall. In addition to coming off a major knee injury, Rice could be facing discipline from the league for an off-the-field incident. But all that aside, he has clear WR1 upside.

Eagles Decline Fifth-Year Option On Jahan Dotson
The Philadelphia Eagles declined the fifth-year option on wide receiver Jahan Dotson on Wednesday, a source told FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. It means that the former 16th overall pick of the Washington Commanders in 2022 out of Penn State will head into a contract year in 2025. The 25-year-old pass-catcher spent the first two years of his career with Washington before joining the division-rival Eagles in 2024 and winning a Super Bowl with them. He was much more productive in his first two years in D.C., as he caught just 19 of 33 targets for 216 yards and no touchdowns with Philly in 17 regular-season games (six starts). The Eagles just had two many other weapons on offense for Dotson to really make a mark production-wise as the No. 4 aerial target behind wideouts A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith and tight end Dallas Goedert. Barring an injury to Brown or Smith in 2025, Dotson will be off the fantasy radar in most leagues.

Vikings Waive NaJee Thompson, Trevor Reid
The Minnesota Vikings have waived offensive linemen Trevor Reid and defensive back NaJee Thompson. Reid, soon to be 25, was on his third team in two seasons (Falcons, Eagles) but has yet to garner a snap since signing as an undrafted free agent with Philadelphia in 2023. He was waived with a non-football injury designation. Thompson, on the other hand, followed a similar path to the NFL, though the Vikings were the team that signed him. He appeared in 15 games two seasons ago, logging seven tackles (five solo) and a fumble recovery. However, he spent all of 2024 on Injured Reserve after suffering a knee injury in January. The 24-year-old was waived after failing a physical, as his knee has yet to fully recover.

Per the team, the Detroit Lions have released quarterback Jake Fromm ahead of this weekend's draft. Their roster now sits at 73 players. The 26-year-old has hopped around the league over his five-year career, serving stints with the Lions, Commanders, Giants, and Bills -- the team that selected him in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. In three career appearances (one start), he racked up 210 passing yards and a 1:3 TD:INT ratio on a 45% completion percentage, chipping in 65 yards on eight rush attempts. They currently hold ten picks, including five in the top 92.

Detroit Makes Kerby Joseph The Highest-Paid Safety In League History
The Detroit Lions have agreed with defensive back Kerby Joseph on a four-year, $86 million extension, per Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. Joseph's new contract ties him to Detroit through the 2029 season, making him the highest-paid safety in NFL history. The Illinois product led his team and the league last year with nine interceptions and placed third on the Lions with 83 total tackles. He's missed just two games in his three years with the organization, notching at least 74 takedowns and four interceptions in each campaign. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes hit the NFL by storm early in his career with his deep-passing skills and explosive plays. However, the Chiefs' offense ranked 27th in 20-plus-yard plays in 2024. Since Tyreek Hill departed to Miami and Travis Kelce has taken a step back, its offense has not connected on splash plays as often. Heading into next season, Mahomes is aiming to incorporate big plays back into the offense. "We've had a lot of turnover in the receiving room, and it seems like the core group will be back in its entirety." Mahomes said." So the goal is to try to build on it and get even better and try to get back to some of the explosive passing plays that we've done in years past." With all-world speedster Xavier Worthy heading into Year 2 and a potential full season of Marquise Brown, the ceiling is high for Kansas City's passing attack in 2025. Mahomes has not been a fantasy football game-changer over the last two seasons, but a more dangerous offensive attack could put him back in the high-end QB1 range.

ESPN's Katherine Terrell reports that the New Orleans Saints are picking up wide receiver Chris Olave's fifth-year option on Wednesday. Despite playing in a career-low eight games in 2024 in his third year in the NFL due to multiple concussions, the Saints picking up the former first-rounder's fifth-year option was a no-brainer. The 24-year-old Ohio State alumni is scheduled to make $16.8 million guaranteed on his fifth-year option in 2026. Olave cleared 1,000 yards receiving in each of his first two NFL seasons on 159 total receptions and nine touchdowns, so he has proven he has the chops to operate as a WR1 for fantasy managers when he's healthy. However, his head injuries from last year could scare many fantasy managers off this fall, as well as New Orleans' quarterback situation with Derek Carr possibly needing shoulder surgery.

Saints Hope To Have Clarity On Derek Carr Soon
New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis acknowledged that quarterback Derek Carr (shoulder) is dealing with a shoulder injury that could require surgery and that the organization hopes to have some clarity on the situation soon. There are a lot of question marks about Carr's future with the Saints, and it was recently reported that the 34-year-old signal-caller could be in danger of missing the start of the 2025 campaign. It has led many to believe that New Orleans will target a young QB in this week's draft, possibly even with the No. 9 overall pick in the first round on Thursday night. Outside of Carr, the Saints currently have Spencer Rattler, Jake Haener and Ben DiNucci in their quarterback room. Even if Carr avoids shoulder surgery, stays with the Saints and is their Week 1 starter this fall, he'll be ignored in most 12-team fantasy drafts.
