Rashee Rice Not Expected to Face Additional Suspension

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is not expected to be suspended again over the probation violation that resulted in him serving jail time earlier this offseason. According to Charles Goldman, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport does not expect the league to hand Rice another suspension after he served 30 days in a Texas jail. Rice tested positive for THC in May, violating the terms of the probation he received after the 2024 Dallas crash. The jail time was already part of his 2025 sentence, but the violation required him to serve it immediately. Rice had already served a six-game NFL suspension last season for his role in the crash, then caught 53 passes for 571 yards and five touchdowns in eight games. The NFL has not formally announced a decision on the probation violation, so Rapoport's report is not an official clearance. If it holds, Rice should not lose any more games over this particular matter and remains RotoBaller's WR16.

Rashee Rice Calls Jail Time a "Reality Check"

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice spoke Tuesday about the 30-day jail sentence he served earlier this offseason, calling it a "reality check." According to Nate Taylor, Rice said it is in the past and that he is focused on the future. Rice was ordered to report to jail in May after testing positive for THC, a violation of the probation he received after pleading guilty to two felony charges stemming from the 2024 Dallas crash. The jail term had already been part of his original sentence, but the positive test led to it being served immediately. Rice also had a cleanup procedure on his right knee shortly before entering jail and missed OTAs and mandatory minicamp, though he has since worked his way back into 11-on-11 drills at training camp. He caught 53 passes for 571 yards and five touchdowns in eight games last season. RotoBaller currently has Rice 36th overall and WR16, and his progress in camp is the more important fantasy development going forward.

Rashee Rice Walks Off with Trainer on Saturday

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice (undisclosed) headed to the locker room with a trainer on Saturday. Media members surrounding the Chiefs were unclear about when a possible injury occurred or whether it was routine maintenance. Rice walked off laughing with a trainer, so it doesn't appear to be a significant issue. The fourth-year receiver underwent knee surgery in May to remove loose debris that was causing inflammation and is still working his way back. His production over the past two seasons has been elite, averaging 6.4 receptions on 8.9 targets, with over 70 yards per game and eight touchdowns in 12 games. His current price in fantasy football leagues is high, so managers will need to evaluate his injury status heading into Week 1.

Rashee Rice Taking Part in 11-on-11 Drills

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice (knee) is taking part in 11-on-11 team drills at training camp practice on Wednesday for the first time in camp, according to Nate Taylor of ESPN. The Chiefs have eased Rice back into practice this summer following an offseason knee procedure. That will likely continue for the 26-year-old, but barring a setback, it seems likely that he'll be ready for the team's Week 1 regular-season opener on Monday night against the division-rival Denver Broncos. The Chiefs have even more reason to play it safe with Rice because of injuries sustained to fellow wideouts Xavier Worthy (shoulder) and rookie Cyrus Allen (shin) last week. When healthy, Rice will be quarterback Patrick Mahomes' top target, giving him clear WR1 upside. Rice's history of injuries and off-the-field issues make him more of a risky high-end WR2 wideout, though. He caught 79 passes for 938 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie, but the former second-rounder from SMU has played in just 12 games in the last two seasons due to injuries and suspension.

Rashee Rice Clearly Not 100 Percent Recovered From Knee Surgery

Arrowhead Pride's Ron Kopp Jr. writes that Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice (knee) has been leaving training camp practice early each day for planned rehabilitation. Rice clearly is not 100% recovered from his knee surgery in May. The 26-year-old wideout had a cleanup procedure on his knee in the offseason, and the Chiefs have elected to ease him into camp workouts. It's definitely something to watch this summer, but as long as Rice doesn't suffer any sort of setback, he figures to be ready for Week 1 of the 2026 regular season on Monday night against the division-rival Denver Broncos. Rice's absence from team drills has allowed rookie receiver Cyrus Allen to stand out early on. When healthy, Rice will be quarterback Patrick Mahomes' go-to target in the passing game. The former second-rounder from SMU had nearly 1,000 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 16 games as a rookie, but he's played in just 12 games the last two seasons combined due to injuries and off-the-field issues. Rice is a risk/reward No. 2 fantasy wideout entering his fourth year in the NFL. RotoBaller has him ranked as the No. 16 WR for 2026.

Rashee Rice Being Eased in After Knee Surgery

The Athletic's Jesse Newell reports that Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice (knee) is still sitting out live drills in training camp as he recovers from offseason knee surgery. Rice's absence has allowed young players like Cyrus Allen and Andrew Armstrong to get more run with the first-team offense early in camp. When everyone is fully healthy, Rice, Xavier Worthy, and Tyquan Thornton are the Chiefs' top three receivers, while Allen and recent draft pick Jalen Royals figure to be rotational players for depth at the position. The Chiefs are in no rush to get the 26-year-old Rice back into the fold, but the full expectation is that he'll be a full-go for the start of the 2026 regular season. Injuries and off-the-field issues have made him somewhat of a risk as a fantasy wideout, but when he's been on the field, there's no arguing that he has high-end upside as quarterback Patrick Mahomes' favorite weapon. The former second-rounder in 2023 from SMU had 938 receiving yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie, but he played in a combined 12 games the last two years. If Rice can put in a full season in 2026, he has clear WR1 upside when it's all said and done.

Rashee Rice Cleared for Start of Training Camp

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice (knee) has been cleared for the start of training camp next week, head coach Andy Reid told Matt McMullen of Chiefs.com. Rice will be ready to rock, along with star quarterback Patrick Mahomes (knee), in training camp practices next week after he had a minor clean-up procedure on his right knee in May. As long as the 26-year-old former second-rounder in 2023 out of SMU isn't in anymore danger of being suspended by the league to begin the 2026 season, his ADP should continue to rise after playing in just 12 regular-season games the last two years combined due to injuries and suspension. Rice caught 79 of his 102 targets for 938 yards and seven touchdowns in 16 games (eight starts) as a rookie, and he has clear WR1 upside as Mahomes' top target if he can stay active for an entire season again. The Chiefs will be leaning on the Mahomes-Rice connection a ton if both players are healthy in 2026. Right now, Rice is a bargain based on his current WR2 ADP, but that could change fast now that he's fully healthy for training camp.

Rashee Rice a Potential Week-Winner Being Drafted as a WR2

On a per-game basis, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has become one of the most consistently dominant fantasy performers, though unfortunately consistency is not often a word associated with the fourth-year player. Injuries and suspension have caused Rice to miss 22 of his team's last 30 games, though he finished as a top 10 fantasy receiver in five of his eight appearances in 2025, four times topping 19.5 half-PPR points. Dating back to the end of his rookie season, Rice has scored at least 14 points in 12 of his last 18 games, twice falling short of that mark in games he left early with injury. The Chiefs made no drastic changes to their wide receiver room this offseason, and with two-time MVP Patrick Mahomes II potentially wanting to get the ball out quickly as he regains trust in his surgically repaired left knee, Rice could again see heavy volume as a trusted underneath target. At RotoBaller's WR16, it's possible that Rice's off-field concerns and checkered injury history are shading his draft profile more than the product he's actually delivered when on the field, and he could prove to be one of the biggest steals of 2026 drafts.

Is Rashee Rice Overvalued at Current ADP?

Entering 2026, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice (knee) is one of the most difficult players to value in fantasy. On paper, the 26-year-old is a talented pass-catcher who also profiles as the number one option for Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. However, Rice has been unable to avoid off-field issues in recent seasons and could be facing a second league suspension in 2026 after being suspended for the first six games of 2025. Rice also has an extensive injury history at this point, as he's dealt with knee and concussion issues in his career and is currently recovering from knee surgery that he underwent in May. While Rice is expected to be healthy for the start of 2026, he is nearly impossible for fantasy managers to feel comfortable relying on. At his current average draft position of WR11 in redraft leagues, Rice may be a player for fantasy managers to avoid.

Rashee Rice Released From Jail on Tuesday

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice (knee) was released from Dallas County Jail on Tuesday morning after serving 30 days for a probation violation, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. After being released, Rice ran away from cameras and refused to speak to the media before being taken away in an SUV. In addition to more off-the-field issues this offseason for the 26-year-old, Rice had a clean-up surgery on his right knee in May, but head coach Andy Reid said he expects Rice to be ready for the start of training camp in late July. Barring a setback with his knee this summer, Rice should be ready for the start of the 2026 regular season in early September, although another potential suspension to begin the year hanging over his head will have fantasy managers hesitant to take him early in drafts. When active, Rice has clearly established himself as the WR1 in KC as quarterback Patrick Mahomes' (knee) favorite weapon, but injuries and off-the-field issues have limited him to just 12 regular-season starts in the last two years. The former second-rounder in 2023 out of SMU is a risk/reward, low-end WR2/high-end WR3 target in upcoming 2026 fantasy drafts.
