Travis Kelce Says he Can Still "Play at a High Level"

In what could be his final NFL season in 2026, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce thinks he can still "play at a high level," according to Nate Taylor of ESPN. "I've still got a lot of love for this game," Kelce said Wednesday. "I want to go out there and prove to myself that I can play at a better level than I did last year. That's probably the biggest thing for me, is making sure I'm accountable to the guys in this [locker] room and every single play that I'm out there." The 36-year-old future Hall of Famer signed a one-year, $12 million deal to return to KC back in March after leading the team in targets (108), receptions (76), yards (851), touchdowns (five), and receiving first downs (45) in 2025. Despite his age, Kelce still managed to finish as a top-five fantasy football TE in half-PPR scoring last year. Kelce will still have fantasy value in 2026 in what could be his last season in the league, but he's no longer a top-flight TE1 and is ranked as the No. 12 TE at RotoBaller.

Kenneth Walker Called an "Absolute Superstar"

Kansas City Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker continues to make a strong impression on his new teammates. According to Charles Goldman, Travis Kelce said Walker is "going to be a hell of a ball player for us," praised his all-around traits, and called him an "absolute superstar" on and off the field. Walker signed with Kansas City in March after rushing for 1,027 yards and five touchdowns on 221 carries for Seattle last season. He added 31 catches for 282 yards, then closed out the year by running for 135 yards and earning MVP honors in Super Bowl LX. The Chiefs have Walker listed first on their unofficial depth chart, and his receiving ability has been noticeable throughout camp, including a touchdown catch from Patrick Mahomes on a wheel route Monday. Kelce's comments are still teammate praise, but they fit everything Kansas City has seen from Walker since he arrived. He looks set for a significant role in the Chiefs' offense this season.

Travis Kelce Still Refining His Craft

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and quarterback Patrick Mahomes are in their ninth training camp together as starters, and according to senior team reporter Matt McMullen, the duo was in full force on Tuesday. A Pro Bowler in each of the past 11 seasons, the soon-to-be-37-year-old Kelce is still refining his craft, and with him and Mahomes working meticulously through the finer points of the offense, the two connected on a handful of completions during team drills. Relying ever more on details than athleticism, Kelce still projects to be a major piece of the Chiefs' passing offense in 2026, and at RotoBaller's TE12, he's become a late-round option with one of the position's safest floors and a realistic chance to see triple-digit targets for the 12th consecutive season.

Travis Kelce Looks Sharp in First Full-Squad Practice

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce looked sharp during Wednesday's first full-squad training camp practice, making a fingertip catch from Patrick Mahomes between two linebackers during seven-on-seven work, according to The Athletic. Head coach Andy Reid said Kelce looked good physically, remained in shape, and continued setting an example through his willingness to take practice repetitions. The 36-year-old is entering his 14th NFL season after catching 76 passes for 851 yards and five touchdowns across 17 games in 2025. Although his reception total declined from 97 in 2024, his average increased from 8.5 to 11.2 yards per catch. Kelce has not announced whether he plans to play beyond the 2026 season, but he remains a central part of Kansas City's passing game and an important leader for the roster. One seven-on-seven highlight does not resolve the age-related concerns surrounding his fantasy outlook, though his full participation and early movement are encouraging signs.

Travis Kelce Has Become One of Fantasy's Biggest Sleepers in 2026

While long gone are the league-winning days of a sustained fantasy peak as high as the tight end position has ever seen, veteran Travis Kelce remains an important piece of the Kansas City Chiefs' offense, and he has become an overlooked value in the late rounds of 2026 drafts. Across three down years by his own lofty standards, Kelce has finished as the TE3, the TE6, and the TE3 since 2023, topping 75 catches and 800 receiving yards in all three seasons. The Chiefs are anticipating a return to form from wide receiver Rashee Rice after he's missed 22 games over the past two seasons due to injury and suspension. Still, the core of Kansas City's pass catchers remains relatively unchanged, and Kelce should continue to serve as one of Patrick Mahomes II's most trusted outlets as the two-time MVP regains confidence in his surgically repaired left knee. With a recent inflow of talented young players at the position, Kelce is no longer a threat to claim the top spot for fantasy, but as RotoBaller's TE12, he's a safe bet to outperform ADP expectations once again while providing one of the highest weekly floors in the league.

Travis Kelce has Buy-Low Dynasty Value

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is back for at least one more season. The 36-year-old isn't the same top-tier fantasy tight end that he used to be, but that doesn't mean he can't be a reliable contributor. This past season, Kelce hauled in 76 receptions, 851 receiving yards, and five touchdowns across 17 games with the Chiefs. The 76-catch season was his lowest since the 2015 season, but that goes to show how long Kelce has been an elite player in this league. The Chiefs don't have many reliable pass-catchers on offense outside of Rashee Rice, and hopefully Xavier Worthy takes a step forward. The health of quarterback Patrick Mahomes (knee) also plays a factor in the fantasy value of Kelce. If everything goes right for the Chiefs, Kelce should still be a fringe top-10 fantasy tight end next season. Given his age, fantasy managers needing a tight end might be able to snag Kelce for cheap, with this possibly being his last season.

Is Travis Kelce a Worthy Dynasty Buy-Low Candidate Entering 2026?

Despite rampant speculation that he would retire following the 2025 season, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is back for at least one more year in 2026. As he enters his age-37 season, Kelce is clearly no longer the elite force he once was at his peak. However, he remained a useful piece for fantasy managers in 2026, recording 76 catches for 851 yards and five touchdowns on 108 targets across 17 games. Kelce could presumably have a stronger offensive environment around him in Kansas City in 2026 if Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (knee) can play a fully healthy season. Additionally, the Chiefs once again look to be light on reliable pass-catching options outside of Kelce, particularly given wide receiver Rashee Rice's (knee) persistent struggles with both injury and off-field issues. Kelce's upside on a week-to-week basis is limited, but his current dynasty value may be undervaluing the solid production floor he can provide for win-now managers in 2026.

Travis Kelce Now a Low-Cost Dynasty Rental

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is 36 years old and coming into his 14th season as RotoBaller's dynasty TE19. After failing to top 985 receiving yards or five touchdowns in any of his last three seasons, it's clear that his days of league-winning dominance are behind him, but he's still a steadfast producer at a position of scarcity, finishing no lower than TE6 since 2015 and all the way up at TE3 in 2025. Outside of Kelce and wide receiver Rashee Rice, the Chiefs and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is trending towards a Week 1 return after suffering a season-ending ACL tear in Week 15, lack reliable pass catchers. Though, with Rice's off-field behavior continuing to grab headlines, questions have arisen about his own reliability. Kelce signed what was originally reported as a new three-year deal this offseason, but the contract gives him the option to retire by the summer of 2027, leading many to believe this will be his final season in the league. His yards per reception have dropped to under 10 yards since 2023 after topping 12.2 yards per catch in each of his first nine active seasons, but he has continued to earn triple-digit targets, with that streak now sitting at 10 consecutive years, while only Trey McBride has seen more looks at the position across his three "down" years. For contending dynasty managers, Kelce is no longer the piece needed to push a team over the top, but he's not priced that way either, making him a worthwhile trade candidate who should provide at least one more year of above-average fantasy production.

Travis Kelce's Dynasty Value Fading Entering 2026

Despite some speculation that he might retire at the end of the 2025 season, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce remains atop his team's depth chart heading into 2026. The 36-year-old is no longer the player he once was at his peak, but he still turned in a productive season with 76 catches for 851 yards and five touchdowns on 108 targets across 17 games in 2025. Kelce's fantasy value is closely tied to the health of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (knee), who is currently making his way back from knee surgery. Mahomes is expected to participate in OTAs, which could mean he's on track to be fully healthy by Week 1 of 2026. As long as he has his quarterback, Kelce looks like a good bet to put together another top-12 tight end season in PPR-scoring fantasy leagues. His uncertain future beyond 2026 limits his dynasty upside, but Kelce remains an appealing win-now option at the tight end position.

Travis Kelce Worth Trading Ahead of Potential Retirement Tour

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has cooled off slightly over the last three seasons, but he remains a high-end scoring fantasy option in fantasy football. After an impressive seven-year stretch in which he delivered six TE1 finishes and one TE2 finish, he has been the TE3, TE5, and TE3 over the last three years, respectively. His reception total dropped to 76 last season (his lowest mark since 2015), but he still mustered 851 yards and five touchdowns. Fantasy managers' biggest complaint was likely that he lacked consistency, ranking outside the top 16 fantasy tight ends in eight of his 17 games. He also took a major step backward near the end of the season; over his final five weeks, he ranked 35th among tight ends in fantasy points per game. Part of that was because Patrick Mahomes (knee) tore his ACL in Week 15, but it was a disappointing stretch nonetheless. Managers pursuing Kelce in redraft leagues next season will have to be okay with his high ceiling and low floor. The conversation in dynasty leagues is a little more complex. Kelce's new three-year deal with the Chiefs has two void years, so it's effectively a one-year deal that will let him retire after 2026. Assuming this is his last year in the league, managers should look to trade away Kelce for some sort of return this offseason.
