Former Los Angeles Chargers standout cornerback Kristian Fulton agreed to terms with the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday on a two-year, $20 million deal with $15 million guaranteed, sources tell NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Fulton has the chance to make as much as $20.5 million through incentives. In his lone season with the Chargers, the 26-year-old defensive back had a career-best 51 tackles (39 solo), one interception and seven pass breakups in 15 regular-season games (14 starts). He will stay in the AFC West and join a Chiefs secondary that was already one of the best in the NFL in 2024 under defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. Fulton was a second-round pick (61st overall) by the Tennessee Titans in 2020 out of LSU and spent the first four years of his career with the Titans before joining L.A. last year. He has 201 career tackles (155 solo), one sack and five interceptions in 57 games (51 starts).
Chargers Agree To One-Year Deal With Kristian Fulton
The Los Angeles Chargers agreed to terms on an undisclosed one-year deal on Friday with former Tennessee Titans free-agent cornerback Kristian Fulton (hamstring), according to sources. Apparently Fulton is healthy now after ending last year on Injured Reserve due to a hamstring injury. Hamstring and groin injuries kept Fulton out of six games with the Titans in 2023. Injuries plagued his four years in Tennessee, as he missed 23 games, and he finished last year without an interception and with only five passes defended. When healthy, the 25-year-old is a willing tackler against the run and has the versatility to play the nickel and outside cornerback spots. If he can stay healthy in 2024, he could put himself in line for a bigger payday in 2025.
Tennessee Titans cornerback Kristian Fulton (hamstring) was placed on the Injured Reserve list on Wednesday. Fulton suffered a hamstring injury in the Week 13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts and did not play in the win over the Miami Dolphins. Tennessee's secondary has struggled this season, allowing the 11th-most passing yards per game (246.9). Losing a starting cornerback is unlikely to help their cause. All that said, Tennessee's fantasy defense/special teams could be a popular streamer in Week 15 if CJ Stroud (concussion) cannot play on Sunday due to a concussion.
Tennessee Titans cornerback Kristian Fulton (shoulder) underwent surgery on his right shoulder recently, according to his Instagram. Fulton played in only six games in his rookie season in 20202 and managed to play in 13 games in 2021 while emerging as one of the best young cornerbacks in the league. The 23-year-old was placed on Injured Reserve after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 5, which caused him to miss four games. In 19 games (15 starts) in his first two NFL seasons, Fulton has 56 tackles (44 solo), three interceptions and 15 passes defensed. It's unclear exactly what was wrong with his shoulder, but he'll have plenty of time to heal up before training camp this summer.
Titans Activate Kristian Fulton From Injured Reserve
The Tennessee Titans activated rookie cornerback Kristian Fulton from Injured Reserve on Tuesday. In corresponding moves, the team placed linebacker Tuzar Skipper on the practice-squad IR and activated defensive lineman Teair Tart from the suspended list. Fulton wrapped up his third week of practice last week and is now eligible to play in Week 15 against the Lions. The second-round selection has played in five games for the Titans in 2020 and has 15 tackles, one sack and an interception. Fulton himself isn't on the IDP radar at all, but the Titans Defense should be considered a top-10 fantasy unit in their matchup with Detroit, especially if quarterback Matthew Stafford (rib) is unable to play after suffering a painful rib injury in the Week 14 loss to the Packers.
The Tennessee Titans used pick No. 61 to select LSU cornerback Kristian Fulton in the 2020 NFL draft. The Titans got good value here as Fulton was considered a first-round talent by many draft pundits. He slipped to the second round due to some off-field issues back in 2017 when he failed a drug test and was suspended for the season. While he only recorded one interception last season, Fulton was credited with 14 pass breakups. Fulton is a good athlete with good instincts at the position, although he did struggle with his confidence at times during his college career.
