Savion Williams Suiting Up for Week 12 Against Vikings

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Savion Williams (foot) is officially active for Sunday's Week 12 contest against the Minnesota Vikings. He was listed as questionable after missing two practices this past week. With Matthew Golden (shoulder, wrist) sidelined, Williams could push to carve out a larger role behind Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, and Dontayvion Wicks. The 24-year-old rookie has been dependable when called upon, catching all 10 of his targets for 78 yards and a touchdown through 10 games. Despite his potentially increased workload on Sunday, Williams is still lower on the depth chart and can be left on waivers in most fantasy leagues. He ranks as RotoBaller's WR99 for Week 12.

Savion Williams Suiting Up Against Giants in Week 11

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Savion Williams (foot) is officially active for Sunday's Week 11 contest against the New York Giants. He had been listed as questionable after practicing in a limited capacity. The 23-year-old has taken on a slightly increased role lately, catching five passes for 22 yards and a touchdown (plus a lost fumble) over his last three games. He should continue to occupy a depth role this Sunday, keeping him off the fantasy radar in most leagues. He can be left on waivers.

Savion Williams Deemed Questionable for Monday Night

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Green Bay Packers wide receiver Savion Williams (foot) has been labeled as questionable for the team's home clash with the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. The TCU product joins fellow wide receivers Matthew Golden (shoulder) and Dontayvion Wicks (calf) on the injury report, as all three have garnered the questionable tag. With Wicks out the previous two contests, Williams had seen his snap share rise slightly. That said, he operated fifth in that regard, commanding just three targets (3/20/1) across the sample. If all three wideouts wind up being inactive, teammates Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Malik Heath would man Green Bay's pass-catching corps as the only receivers without a designation.

Savion Williams To See More Work on Offense Moving Forward?

Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Savion Williams has mostly been limited to special teams and a handful of designed touches over the first eight games. Williams has been used creatively, catching all seven of his targets for 43 yards and a touchdown while also adding eight carries for 28 yards and another score on the ground. The rookie third-round pick out of TCU has strong ball-in-hand skills, which could lead to more of these designed touches as the Packers will be without their best YAC threat in star tight end Tucker Kraft (knee) for the rest of the season. However, it will be difficult to earn consistent playing time behind Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, and Matthew Golden, in addition to Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) and Jayden Reed (collarbone, foot) when healthy. Williams is also dealing with a foot injury, having been limited in Friday's practice with a foot injury. Williams remains off the radar for redraft leagues for now.

Savion Williams Limited to Special Teams and Gadget Role in Green Bay

Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Savion Williams has primarily been limited to a special teams and gadget role through the early portion of his first NFL season. Across seven games, Williams has more rush attempts (seven) than receptions (five). The 23-year-old has not been particularly efficient as either a rusher or receiver, recording 59 yards and a touchdown on his 12 touches. The Packers have one of the deepest wide receiver corps in the NFL, which may make it difficult for Williams to be a consistent contributor this year. Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, and Matthew Golden are all definitely ahead of Williams on the depth chart, as are Jayden Reed (collarbone, foot) and Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) when healthy. Williams should remain off the radar of fantasy managers in redraft leagues.

Savion Williams Remains a Low-Usage Gadget Piece in Green Bay's Offense

Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Savion Williams has mostly been used in a gadget role on offense this season. Williams has just one catch for one yard and four rush attempts for 23 yards through the first three games of his NFL career. Even after an injury to Packers wideout Jayden Reed (collarbone, foot), Williams remains buried on the team's wide receiver depth chart behind Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, and Matthew Golden. Williams could see even less playing time once veteran wide receiver Christian Watson (knee) makes his return to the field. The 23-year-old rookie should be off the radar of redraft fantasy managers until there are signs of a significant change in role.

Savion Williams Unlikely To Make A Consistent Impact In 2025

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Savion Williams has suffered various injuries throughout his first professional training camp and missed all three preseason games. The Green Bay coaching staff had gadget plays in mind for the third-round speedster, but he has been unable to stay on the field. The Packers have a crowded wide receiver room, even with injuries to Jayden Reed (foot) and Christian Watson (knee). If Reed, who is questionable, misses Week 1, Williams still has first-round pick Matthew Golden, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, and Malik Heath to compete with for snaps. Williams may have a play designed for him here and there, but it won't be consistent enough volume for redraft fantasy managers to spend a roster spot on him.

Savion Williams' Early-Season Impact Could be Limited

Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Savion Williams (hamstring) was one of 19 Packers players to miss the team's preseason finale due to injury. The 6'5" 225-pound third-round pick out of TCU missed time earlier in camp due to a concussion, and he could not participate in any of the team's preseason games. With his inability to stay on the field, there are concerns that his impact could be limited, especially early in the season. The Packers have been without three of their top receivers -- Jayden Reed (foot), Dontayvion Wicks (calf), Christian Watson (knee) -- for much of camp, so the opportunity has been there to carve out a role in Matt Lafleur's offense. Unfortunately, Williams has been unable to seize that opportunity, and as such, should remain an afterthought in most draft formats.

Dontayvion Wicks, Savion Williams Return to Packers Practice

Green Bay Packers wide receivers Dontayvion Wicks (calf) and Savion Williams (concussion) were both seen back at practice on Friday, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. Wicks left practice on Monday with a calf injury, while Williams has been battling a concussion for about a week. Both players are competing for reps in a crowded Green Bay receiver room that also includes Romeo Doubs, Matthew Golden, and Jayden Reed. Wicks played 17 games for the Packers last season, hauling in 39 catches for 415 yards and 415 yards. Williams is a third-round rookie out of TCU who recorded 60 catches for 611 yards and six touchdowns in his final collegiate season. Both players need all the practice time they can get to prove themselves worthy of playing time, so it's a good sign that they're back on the field.

Savion Williams Dealing With Concussion

ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports that Green Bay Packers rookie third-round wide receiver Savion Williams (concussion) was out of training camp practice on Friday due to a concussion. Williams was able to make a few nice catches in the first couple days of practice, but now he could miss a bit of time, depending on well he can bounce back from his head injury. Head injuries are never good news, but this could be especially troubling for a 23-year-old rookie trying to learn a new offense at the next level. When healthy, Williams is probably going to have a tough time seeing the field consistently, even with Christian Watson (knee) potentially missing around half the season. The Packers also have Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks, and first-round rookie Matthew Golden will certainly be ahead of Williams on the receiver depth chart.
