Sergei Bobrovsky Unavailable On Tuesday
Florida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky (personal) will not suit up for Tuesday's meeting with Pittsburgh. He has not traveled with the team to the game, as Bobrovsky and his wife are expecting a child. The former Vezina Trophy winner has looked shaky at times, logging a 3.04 goals-against average with a .890 save percentage, but he still carries a solid 11-5-1 record. Spencer Knight is expected to fill in for Bobrovsky on Tuesday, with Chris Driedger called up from the minors to dress as the backup. Knight's work has been more efficient in 2024-25 compared to Bobrovsky, as he has allowed 2.31 goals with a .911 save percentage. However, the 23-year-old has a mediocre 4-4-0 record. He impressed with a shutout performance against Carolina in his last start, but Knight hasn't yet won back-to-back starts this season.

Alex Ovechkin Skates For The First Time Since Fracturing Leg
Washington Capitals winger Alex Ovechkin (lower leg) was back on the ice Monday. He had a light skate two weeks after fracturing his left fibula. The Russian superstar is expected to be out for 4-6 weeks, and it looks like his rehab is going well. Tuesday's clash with San Jose will mark the seventh straight game without Ovechkin for the Capitals. They have done fine without him so far, going 4-2-0. Ovechkin exited the lineup as the league's leading goal-scorer, having lit the lamp 15 times in 18 games. He's 27 goals short of surpassing Wayne Gretzky's all-time record. Tom Wilson and Connor McMichael have stepped into top-line roles during Ovechkin's absence, giving them additional fantasy value.

Nick Schmaltz Nets Lone Utah Goal In Monday's Defeat
Utah Hockey Club forward Nick Schmaltz was the team's lone scorer in Monday's 2-1 loss to Dallas. With Matias Maccelli and Nick Bjugstad setting him up, Schmaltz made it a one-goal game at 6:57 in the third period, but Utah couldn't generate any more goals. Schmaltz recorded all of his first 17 points of the season via assists but has now scored three goals in two games. He skates on the top line with Barrett Hayton and Utah's top scorer, Clayton Keller, who boasts 22 points (seven goals, 15 assists) through 25 games. The trio gets to do damage next in a back-to-back set over the weekend as Utah faces Buffalo and Philadelphia, two teams that can be fragile defensively.

Jamie Benn Produces Game-Winner Against Utah
Dallas Stars left wing Jamie Benn scored the game-winning goal as the team took down Utah 2-1 on Monday night. The Stars had both goals in the second period, with Evgenii Dadonov opening the scoring on the power play. Benn has mostly been limited to a third-line role this season, but the veteran has made a solid contribution with 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in 24 games. 10 of his points have come since the start of November. A couple of tough matchups are now coming up for Benn and the Stars as they visit Los Angeles and Vegas.

Jesper Bratt Racks Up Four Points Against Rangers
New Jersey Devils winger Jesper Bratt amassed four points as the team secured a dominant 5-1 victory on Monday against the Rangers. The Swedish forward scored the game's opening goal and dished out three assists, two on the power play. Bratt matched his career high with the four-point effort. Following a bit of a quiet stretch, during which Bratt went pointless in three of five outings, he has registered two goals and five assists in his past three appearances. His offensive haul of 35 points (12 goals, 23 assists) in 28 games makes Bratt New Jersey's leading scorer, and he has only four players ahead of him on the league's scoring charts.

Mitchell Marner Collects Two Assists Versus Blackhawks
Toronto Maple Leafs right wing Mitch Marner recorded two assists in Monday's 4-1 victory against Chicago. He was among the helpers on John Tavares's game-winning goal and picked up another assist on Matthew Knies' empty-netter. Incredibly, this was Marner's ninth multi-point outing in his past 11 appearances. He's been the Maple Leafs' biggest offensive threat this season, sitting tied for fifth in the league with 24 assists and collecting 33 points overall in 24 games. Barring any health issues, we should see Marner hit the 100-point mark for the first time in his career.

Patrick Kane To Miss Tuesday's Game
Detroit Red Wings right wing Patrick Kane (upper body) will remain out for a fifth consecutive game on Tuesday versus Boston. Red Wings head coach Derek Lalonde hopes to have him available again on Thursday when Detroit faces Ottawa. Kane started the season reasonably well but was stuck in an awful slump before exiting the lineup. Over his last nine appearances, the former MVP has added to his points tally just once. He has produced three goals and seven assists in 20 games for the season. With Kane out for another game, Tyler Motte will continue to skate on the second line.

Jeff Petry Considered Day-To-Day
Detroit Red Wings defenseman Jeff Petry (lower body) is considered day-to-day. The 36-year-old veteran missed Monday's practice and might have to sit out Tuesday's game against Boston. Petry averages nearly 19 minutes of ice time for the Red Wings and has even seen regular power-play time lately, but he's been limited to three assists in 20 games on the offensive front this season, failing to score with 13 efforts on net. Petry's work has included 36 blocks and 27 hits. Albert Johansson, who has one assist through 13 outings, is expected to join the lineup if Petry is a no-go for Tuesday.

Matt Dumba Back In Action Monday
Dallas Stars defenseman Matt Dumba will re-enter the lineup for Monday's matchup against Utah. The veteran has sat out two games as a healthy scratch. Dumba has posted nearly 250 career points, but his fantasy stock is at an all-time low. In 15 outings this season, he's managed just one assist with 14 shots, 14 blocks, and 27 hits. Dumba will join Thomas Harley on the second defensive pairing, with Alexander Petrovic exiting the lineup.

Logan Stankoven Rejoins Stars Lineup Monday
Dallas Stars forward Logan Stankoven (lower body) will return from a two-game absence on Monday versus Utah. The 21-year-old will take over from Tyler Seguin (lower body), who is set for a multi-game absence. Stankoven is tied for fourth on the team in scoring with 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) in 21 games. However, he's added to his tally in just one of his last six appearances. A spot on the second line, next to the team's highest scorers, Mason Marchment and Matt Duchene, puts Stankoven in a good position to regain his early-season form.

Tyler Seguin Placed On Injured Reserve
Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin (lower body) has been placed on Injured Reserve ahead of Monday's game against Utah. The move is retroactive to Dec. 1, leaving Seguin ineligible for four games. Seguin has been battling a lower-body issue all season, missing four games already. Despite not being at 100 percent, the veteran star has done outstanding work, putting up 20 points (nine goals, 11 assists) in 19 appearances. Logan Stankoven (lower body) will come back into the lineup on Monday to replace Seguin.

Tomas Tatar Remains Out On Monday
New Jersey Devils left wing Tomas Tatar (lower body) will miss a second consecutive game on Monday versus the Rangers. He sustained a lower-body injury on Friday against Detroit. Tatar's efforts include three goals and six assists in 23 games this season. Shane Bowers replaced Tatar in the lineup on Saturday against Washington, but he has been sent back to the AHL. Mike Hardman and Nathan Legare were called up from the minors in a corresponding move. Both players are expected to play against the Rangers, but they won't have big roles.

Jake McCabe Out On Monday
Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe (upper body) will miss Monday's contest against Chicago. The 31-year-old was hit up high by a puck in Saturday's 5-3 win over Tampa Bay and will sit out Monday's game for precautionary reasons. McCabe comes out of the lineup for the first time this season. He's been quietly effective for the Maple Leafs, registering a team-best plus-11 rating across 23 games, with five assists, 20 shots, 46 blocks, and 52 hits. Philippe Myers will step into the lineup as McCabe's replacement, making only his second appearance of the season. Myers has notched 36 points (eight goals, 28 assists) in 159 career outings in the NHL.

Jake Oettinger Backstops Stars To Victory Versus Jets
Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger put in an impressive performance against the Jets on Sunday, finishing a 3-1 victory with 26 saves. Oettinger was beaten by Adam Lowry early on, but he was then perfect with his work for the rest of the way, improving to 9-1-0 on home ice. Oettinger's overall record now stands at 13-4-0. He has allowed 2.38 goals while registering a .915 save percentage with one shutout. The Stars No. 1 is providing excellent fantasy value for managers again. We should see Casey DeSmith between the sticks Monday night versus Utah, with Oettinger likely returning to work on Wednesday against the Kings, who are riding a three-game winning streak.

Kent Johnson Remains Hot In Sunday's Win
Columbus Blue Jackets forward Kent Johnson found the back of the net once in Sunday's 6-3 win over Chicago, giving him a nine-game point streak. The scoring run is stretched across three months because Johnson missed 14 games with a shoulder injury. Ryan Johansen is the only player in Blue Jackets history to have a longer personal point streak at the start of a season with 10 games. Johnson's work includes six goals and six assists. He operates on the second line and the first power-play unit. Four of Johnson's 12 points have come with the man advantage, while he's also produced two short-handed points.

Charlie McAvoy Pots Two Goals As Bruins Cruise Past Canadiens
Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy provided two goals in Sunday's big 6-3 win over Montreal. His second of the game came in a short-handed situation, and McAvoy added four shots, three blocks, and two hits to his tally with a plus-four rating across 23:00 of action. This was possibly the best outing of the season for McAvoy, who has been slumping all year offensively. He's only now hit double figures for scoring, producing five goals and five assists in 26 games. Entering Sunday's action, McAvoy wasn't even Boston's highest-scoring defenseman, with Mason Lohrei on nine points. He's finished in and around the 50-point mark in three consecutive campaigns, but McAvoy needs to up his scoring pace massively to get there in 2024-25.

Brady Tkachuk Scores Twice In Shootout Loss
Ottawa Senators forward Brady Tkachuk had two goals on a game-high 12 shots in Sunday's 4-3 shootout loss to Anaheim. He potted a power-play goal in the first period and an even-strength goal in the second. With the effort, Tkachuk extended his point streak to five games. The prolific spell includes three multi-point outings, giving Tkachuk four goals and four assists during the stretch. The Senators captain will look to match his season-best point streak in the next matchup against Detroit. He will enter the action with 13 goals and 28 points scored for the season in 25 games.

Troy Terry Amasses Three Assists In Victory Over Senators
Anaheim Ducks right wing Troy Terry recorded three assists and scored in the shootout as the team beat Ottawa 4-3 on home ice Sunday. Terry assisted Frank Vatrano on two goals, including once on the power play, and linked up with Vatrano to help Jackson LaCombe get a goal. Terry's night included a whopping nine shots on goal. Despite being very active in front of the net, Terry failed to register a goal, but that has been the story of his season. He's netted just six times with 57 shots on goal. Luckily for fantasy managers, Terry has been a steady source for assists, particularly in recent games. The 27-year-old has put together a four-game point streak with seven assists. He's got 13 assists and 19 points in 23 games for the campaign.

Detroit Red Wings winger Lucas Raymond extended his point streak to a career-best seven games in Sunday's 5-4 overtime defeat against Vancouver. He finished the contest with two helpers, dishing out one assist on the power play. The Swedish forward was also desperate to extend a five-game goal streak and produced a game-high six shots. Raymond has recorded five goals and four assists during his hot spell. He's on track to average a point per game for the first time in his career, sitting on seven goals and 18 assists with 24 games played.

Quinn Hughes Breaks Canucks' Assists Record
Vancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes became the franchise's leader in assists among blue-liners with three helpers in Sunday's 5-4 overtime win against Detroit. He moved past Alexander Edler, reaching 313 assists for his career. Two of the assists came on the power play. Hughes sits among the league's most prolific defensemen and has been on a tear in recent games. The American star has tallied nine points (one goal, eight assists) in his past four appearances. Colorado's Cale Makar continues to top the defensemen scoring list, but Hughes isn't far behind anymore. He has produced 28 points (five goals, 23 assists) in 23 appearances.
