San Jose Sharks defenseman Jacob MacDonald (lower body) has been activated from Injured Reserve ahead of Tuesday's clash with the Kraken. The 30-year-old hasn't played since Dec. 23, missing 15 games. MacDonald, who's often used as a forward, has struck six goals this season and boasts seven points in total through 17 appearances. Based on pregame projections, we should see MacDonald skate with Luke Kunin and Nico Sturm on the third line.

Colorado Avalanche defenseman Jacob MacDonald was involved in a scary incident on Sunday against Florida, as he was knocked out by a huge hit early in the second period. He was hit by Ryan Lomberg near the boards and left the game on a stretcher after logging only 3:25 of action. Luckily, the team provided a positive update on MacDonald's status after the game, saying that he's "alert, responsive and has full movement". This was only the seventh game of the season for the 28-year-old.

Colorado Avalanche defenseman Jacob MacDonald will start a two-game suspension with Friday's road outing at Anaheim. The 27-year-old was suspended for an illegal check to the head he delivered to Minnesota's Ryan Hartman in Wednesday's 8-3 loss. MacDonald had just found some offensive flow with four points in five games. He has, however, been irrelevant in fantasy hockey, notching only seven points in 27 games with 46 shots, 28 hits and 26 blocks. With Bowen Byram heading to the COVID-19 list, Colorado is lacking defensive depth, and they brought back Patrik Nemeth from Detroit on Friday for a fourth-round pick. He doesn't carry any fantasy value either.
