Jakub Dobes Rebounds After Loss Yet Again for Montreal

Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jakub Dobes and the Canadiens have altered wins and losses this postseason. The young goaltender has won five times in nine starts. However, Friday was the fourth time he won after a defeat against the Buffalo Sabres. In those games, Dobes is an amazing 4-0 with a 1.49 goals-against average and a .946 save percentage. The Montreal goaltender has five quality starts this postseason and stopped 28 of 29 shots in Game 2. That included 10 Buffalo shots on the Sabres' power play. Dobes may not have had his finest effort on Wednesday, but like Montreal, he roared back on Friday night.

Jakub Dobes Backstops Canadiens to Game 7 Victory

Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jakub Dobes produced 28 saves as the team beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1 in Game 7 on Sunday. The Canadiens needed every one of Dobes' saves because Tampa Bay limited them to just nine SOG. Montreal's SOG total was the lowest for a winning team in the playoffs since SOG were first officially tracked in the 1959-60 season. Despite three losses in the first-round series, Dobes has been among the best goaltenders in the league this postseason. He has posted a 2.03 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage. Next, he must contain a Buffalo offense that averaged 3.33 goals per game in Round 1 against Boston.

A first-period goal by Damon Severson was the only blemish from Dobes, as he was perfect the rest of the way. The young Czech goalie has been having a solid season with a 24-8-4 record, 2.83 goals against Average, and an .898 save percentage.

Jakub Dobes Makes 17 Saves in Victory

Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jakub Dobes had a light workload in Tuesday's 3-1 victory against the Maple Leafs on Tuesday, needing to make just 17 saves in the game. Dobes got the start in the first half of the back-to-back set, providing the team with a solid performance to stay in the hunt for the Atlantic division title. Dobes is a decent streaming option in standard leagues, as he has posted a 21-6-4 record with a 2.97 goals against average and a .892 save percentage through 31 appearances.

Jakub Dobes Signs Two-Year Deal with Canadiens

Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jakub Dobes has re-signed with the team, agreeing to a two-year, $1.93 million pact. Dobes made his NHL debut during the 2024-25 campaign, posting a 7-4-3 record across 15 starts. He became the 13th goaltender in NHL history to go 5-0-0 in his first five career games, and only the fourth netminder born outside North America to accomplish this. Following his hot start, Dobes was inconsistent but still finished the season with solid numbers. He logged a 2.74 goals-against average with a .909 save percentage and one shutout. On July 1, Dobes became a restricted free agent, but the Canadiens now have him locked up for a couple of more years. The 24-year-old Czech will compete with Kaapo Kahkonen for the No. 2 spot behind Sam Montembeault in the Canadiens crease.

Jakub Dobes Leads The Way On Sunday

Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jakub Dobes stood tall in Sunday's victory over the Nashville Predators. Dobes stopped 36 of the 37 shots he saw en route to picking up the victory. The Predators had more than double Montreal's shot total, but Dobes was able to keep the door shut. His lone blemish came in the opening frame when Steven Stamkos scored on a wrist shot. Dobes has not been given a start since March 27 (six games), as Sam Montembeault has been deployed as the workhorse. This was also a much-needed bounce-back outing for Dobes, as he posted a 4.24 GAA with a .862 save percentage over his last four appearances. During this stretch, he held a 0-2-1 record. Fantasy managers should only consider streaming Dobes in favorable matchups down the stretch.

Jakub Dobes Starting On Wednesday

Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jakub Dobes will get the starting nod on Wednesday evening when the Canadiens travel to Seattle to face the Kraken. Dobes has been deployed as the clear No. 2 option behind Sam Montembeault throughout the season. Over his last two outings, Dobes has held a 1-1 record with a .939 save percentage and a 1.53 GAA. Before this recent stretch, the 23-year-old held a 0-2-1 record with an underwhelming .868 save percentage and a 4.68 GAA. The rookie netminder has flashed upside at times this season but has struggled to remain consistent. He has allowed two goals or less in six of his 11 starts. The former fifth-round selection is worth considering in DFS formats as a value option as he should be in a good position to perform well against a weak Seattle offense.

Jakub Dobes Starts For Canadiens Saturday

Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jakub Dobes will be back in the crease for Saturday's matchup against the Calgary Flames. This will mark only his fourth start since the beginning of February. Dobes' last appearance was on March 1, when he helped the team to a 4-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres with 23 saves. With this result, Dobes improved his record for the season to 6-2-1. He currently holds a 2.63 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage, along with one shutout this season. On Saturday, Dobes takes on the league's lowest-scoring squad, but the Flames are a strong home team, having gone 17-10-4 at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Jakub Dobes Starts On Sunday

Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jakub Dobes will guard the crease in Sunday's matchup against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The 23-year-old gets the nod for the ninth time in his young career. Dobes has been very impressive at the start of his NHL journey, posting a 5-2-1 record. He has allowed 2.45 goals while registering a .917 save percentage and one shutout. However, after starting his career with a five-game winning streak, Dobes has gone 0-2-1, allowing 12 goals across the three games. On Sunday, he faces a massive challenge against a top-class Lightning team that has regained momentum recently with a three-game winning streak and averages the third-most goals in the league (3.54).

Jakub Dobes Extends Winning Streak

Montreal Canadiens rookie goaltender Jakub Dobes won his fifth-straight game on Sunday evening. He defeated the New York Rangers in overtime and stopped 23 of the 27 shots he faced. This was the first time in he allowed more than three goals in an NHL contest. Three of these goals came during even-strength play, while Mika Zibanejad scored the other on the power-play. Over the first four starts of his career, Dobes held a stellar 4-0 record with a .963% SV and a 0.98 GAA. The former fifth-round selection should continue to share the crease with Sam Montembeault. However, given Montembeault's recent five-game skid (2-2-1, .871% SV, 3.61 GAA), Dobes may eventually earn the starting role in the crease.
