He logged over 21 minutes of action in Friday's loss to the Kings but it looks like Ferraro also hurt himself in the game. Nick Cicek is expected to replace him in the lineup Sunday versus Vancouver. In Ferraro, the Sharks lose a player who is among the league leaders with 47 blocks. He has also registered 27 hits with five points and 24 shots in 23 games this season. Ferraro's fantasy stock isn't high, but only Erik Karlsson logs more minutes than him on the Sharks squad, so his absence will definitely be felt.

San Jose Sharks defenseman Mario Ferraro (leg) will be sidelined for six to eight weeks after sustaining a fracture in his lower left fibula and having surgery on Sunday. The 23-year-old defenseman sustained the injury in Saturday's loss against the Bruins after a battle for the puck in the second period. Ferraro's return in the regular season remains a possibility due to the fact that the Sharks conclude their schedule on April 29 against the Kraken, which aligns with the timeline of recovery for the young defenseman. Ferraro scored twice and added nine assists through 48 games on the Sharks back end, and he is only worth stashing in the deepest of dynasty formats moving forward.

San Jose Sharks defenseman Mario Ferraro was added to the COVID protocol list while Jonathan Dahlen was taken off. Ferraro provided an excellent floor in "banger" leagues and daily fantasy with his ability to deliver hits and block shots well. Ferraro was averaging nearly three blocked shots a game and 3.6 hits a contest over his last five appearances. Ferraro even played 26:21 against Arizona and wound up a +2 in the wild 8-7 win. No one is sure if the defenseman is asymptomatic as with the new quarantine, Ferraro could be back by early next week if that is the case. Tonight, however, he sits.
