Adam Lowry Inks Extension With Jets

Winnipeg Jets center Adam Lowry has signed a five-year, $25 million contract extension. He is currently on an expiring deal that has a $3.25 million cap hit. Lowry has spent his entire 12-year NHL career with the Jets, becoming the team captain in 2023. He missed the first 12 games this season following offseason hip surgery. In seven outings, Lowry has recorded three points (one goal, two assists), 10 shots, nine blocks, and 16 hits with a plus-four rating. While Lowry doesn't have a lot of fantasy value, he has been an important piece for the Jets roster and will continue to be for several more years.

Adam Lowry Ready for Season Debut Tuesday

Winnipeg Jets center Adam Lowry (hip) will make his season debut in Tuesday's matchup against the Los Angeles Kings. He's had a long road to recovery after undergoing hip surgery in May. Lowry is expected to enter the lineup as the third-line center. However, if he performs well enough, it's reasonable to think that Winnipeg might consider moving him to the second line to replace Jonathan Toews. Lowry has been a regular 30-point scorer in recent years and finished last season with a career-high 16 goals. The Jets captain is set to take Morgan Barron's (undisclosed) spot in the lineup after he was hurt in Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Adam Lowry Aims for Early-Season Return

Winnipeg Jets center Adam Lowry (knee) is targeting a return to action in late October or early November, Murat Ates of The Athletic reports. The Jets captain underwent knee surgery in late May. He was expected to be out for 5-6 months, so it seems Lowry's recovery is on schedule. 2025-26 will be a big year for Lowry, as he enters the final season of a five-year, $16.25 million contract he signed in 2021. Last season, Lowry produced a career-high 16 goals and 34 points in 73 games. Also, he was second on the team with 140 hits. While Lowry doesn't set the world alight in fantasy hockey, he plays an important role for the Jets, and the team will be desperate to get him back as soon as possible.

Adam Lowry Likely Out for Start of Next Season After Hip Surgery

Winnipeg Jets center Adam Lowry underwent hip surgery on Tuesday and will likely miss the start of the 2025-26 season. It was announced that he will require 5-6 months to recover from the procedure, meaning it's unlikely the 32-year-old will be ready to play before November. If his season debut is delayed due to the hip surgery, Lowry may find it challenging to record a fourth consecutive 30-point campaign. He registered 16 goals and 34 points with 140 hits in 73 appearances this season. The Jets captain will enter the final season of a five-year, $16.25 million contract in 2025-26.

Adam Lowry Desperate to Remain in Winnipeg

Winnipeg Jets center Adam Lowry hopes to sign an extension with the team this offseason. The Jets captain still has one year remaining on a five-year, $16.25 million deal, but wants to sort out his future. Lowry sees himself as a "Winnipeg Jet for life." He has spent his entire 11-year NHL career with the franchise, recording 273 points (121 goals, 152 assists) in 775 games. The 32-year-old had his third consecutive 30-point campaign in 2024-25. While Lowry doesn't add a lot to fantasy teams, he is a beloved player in Winnipeg and fits well on the team, so there is no reason to think he can't secure a new deal with the Jets.

Adam Lowry Completes Jets Comeback Sunday

Winnipeg Jets center Adam Lowry scored the game-winning goal as the team won Game 7 on Sunday against the St. Louis Blues 4-3 in double overtime. Winnipeg managed to extend the game with two goals in the final two minutes of regulation, and it took Lowry 16:10 to score in the second extra frame. Lowry netted the second-latest overtime goal in franchise history and became only the second captain in the NHL to score an overtime goal in a Game 7, joining Steve Yzerman. With Mark Scheifele (undisclosed) on the shelf, Lowry has moved into the top six and may have a huge role to play in Round 2 against the Dallas Stars. He finished the first round with three goals, 14 shots, and 32 hits.

Adam Lowry Available Against Ducks

Winnipeg Jets center Adam Lowry (rest) is set to return to the lineup for Wednesday's regular-season finale against the Anaheim Ducks. The veteran forward was rested on Sunday against the Edmonton Oilers. Lowry has had another solid campaign with the Jets, scoring 30-plus points for a third consecutive year. He is sitting on a career-high 16 goals and 18 assists and has averaged nearly two hits per game through 72 appearances. On Wednesday, Lowry will work in his usual spot on the third line, where he will be joined by Brandon Tanev and Mason Appleton.

Adam Lowry Set To Return On Saturday

Winnipeg Jets center Adam Lowry (upper body) is set to return to action on Saturday to face the St. Louis Blues. Lowry has been on the injured reserve and missed their previous eight contests. Prior to the injury, Lowry tallied four points over his last seven contests. During this stretch, he logged 11 hits, seven blocks, and a +4 rating. Overall, the 31-year-old has found the back of the net 11 times and added 15 helpers across 48 total games. He has held a +17 rating and totaled 88 hits and 41 blocked shots. He is on pace to smash the previous career highs he set during the 2022 campaign, where he tallied 13 goals and 23 helpers. When he returns on Saturday, fantasy managers should expect him to play on the third unit alongside Mason Appleton and Nino Niederreiter.

Adam Lowry Out Week-To-Week

Winnipeg Jets center Adam Lowry (lower body) is considered week-to-week. Jets head coach Scott Arniel announced the news on Wednesday after Lowry was injured in Monday's game against Utah. The 31-year-old will miss his first game of the season on Wednesday against Colorado. Lowry has been a valuable piece at both ends of the ice for Winnipeg, posting 26 points (11 goals, 15 assists) in 48 games with 88 hits. The team has placed Lowry on Injured Reserve, activating Mason Appleton (lower body) in the process. Appleton will skate on the fourth line on Wednesday and does not have fantasy value. Alex Iafallo will get a look on the first line as a result of the Jets' lineup tweaks.

Adam Lowry Sustains Injury On Monday

According to Mike McIntyre, Winnipeg Jets center Adam Lowry (undisclosed) sustained an injury during Monday's loss to the Utah Hockey Club. Lowry sustained the injury during the opening frame and did not return to the ice. He logged only six shifts. Fantasy managers should continue monitoring his status before Wednesday's contest against the Colorado Avalanche. Prior to Monday, Lowry scored four points (one goal, three helpers) over his previous six contests. During this stretch, he logged 11 hits and seven blocked shots. While sidelined, Vladislav Namestnikov is a candidate to move up to the second line. Overall, Lowry is on pace to score a career-high in goals and points and holds a +17 rating.

Adam Lowry Appointed Jets Captain

Winnipeg Jets center Adam Lowry has been named the team's new captain. He's the third Jets player to get the "C" on his chest since the team moved from Atlanta, following in the footsteps of Andrew Ladd and Blake Wheeler. Lowry, who has spent his entire nine-year NHL career in Winnipeg, was an alternate captain for the first time last season, along with Josh Morrissey and Mark Scheifele, who will both continue to wear the "A" in 2023-24. Lowry has been a workhorse for the Jets through the years, but he also took a step up offensively last season and finished with a career-high 36 points (13 goals, 23 assists) in 82 games. He'll be expected to lead by example on and off the ice from here on out.

Adam Lowry Not Expected To Play Sunday

Winnipeg Jets center Adam Lowry suffered an undisclosed injury Saturday against Florida, and he's considered "very doubtful" for Sunday's action against Tampa Bay. Lowry was injured in the third period and left the game after logging 16:06 of ice time. It's another injury that will test Winnipeg's center depth after Pierre-Luc Dubois (upper body) exited the lineup earlier in the week. Vladislav Namestnikov has made a successful transition into a second-line role, while Lowry's absence is set to give Kevin Stenlund an opportunity to move up from the fourth line.

Adam Lowry Returns To Action Friday

Winnipeg Jets center Adam Lowry will be back in action on Friday against Columbus. He entered COVID-19 protocols and had to sit out three games. Lowry should be back on the third line and will try to score in a third consecutive outing. He's got 10 goals and 17 points for the whole season with 82 shots and 189 hits. Lowry is always good for some defensive stats and Winnipeg's current red-hot attack could help him to keep up his recent scoring surge as well.

Adam Lowry Enters COVID-19 Protocols, Out On Sunday

Winnipeg Jets center Adam Lowry entered COVID-19 protocols on Sunday and will miss the team's road game against Chicago. He'll be replaced on the third line by Jansen Harkins. The Jets lose some quality at both ends of the ice, with Lowry having scored in back-to-back games and sitting on 189 hits for the season. His total offensive contribution has consisted of 10 goals and seven assists in 62 games. Harkins has managed only eight points for the campaign and doesn't typically play a lot. He logged barely over three minutes of action in Friday's 4-2 loss to Boston and averages 9:42 of ice time for the season. He'll get a boost in playing time Sunday night, but he doesn't carry any fantasy value.

Adam Lowry Provides A Boost For Winnipeg

Winnipeg Jets forward Adam Lowry recorded two goals and an assist versus Calgary on Wednesday. The Jets ended up winning the contest 4-0. Lowry helped his team snap a seven-game losing skid. He has been pointless through eight games, centering Winnipeg's third line. In 2021, he has compiled 10 goals and 13 assists in 48 contests. At this time, Lowry's fantasy appeal has to be limited with being held scoreless through eight games and the Jets only having four regular-season matches left.

Adam Lowry Out Saturday Against Toronto

Winnipeg Jets winger Adam Lowry will be out of the lineup Saturday due to an injury he sustained against Toronto on Thursday. Toronto's Alex Galchenyuk forced Lowry to leave the contest early due to a high hit. Lowry will be missed in a huge divisional game for Winnipeg. He's posted eight goals and 12 helpers through 46 games in 2021. However, the winger will not be missed for fantasy managers as he is only rostered in 16 percent of Yahoo! fantasy leagues.
