Dylan Samberg Makes Season Debut Thursday

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dylan Samberg (wrist) has been activated from Injured Reserve and is poised to make his season debut in Thursday's matchup against the Seattle Kraken. The 26-year-old has been out so far due to a broken wrist suffered during the preseason. A season ago, Samberg made big strides and finished the campaign with 20 points (six goals, 14 assists), 95 shots, 120 blocks, and a very impressive plus-34 rating in 60 games. Samberg makes a timely return, as the Jets have just lost Haydn Fleury (concussion) from their defense. He will be partnered with Neal Pionk, which will push Luke Schenn out of the lineup on Thursday.

Dylan Samberg Ruled Out for 6-8 Weeks

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dylan Samberg (wrist) will sit out the start of the 2025-26 NHL season. Jets head coach Scott Arinel announced Monday that Samberg will be sidelined for 6-8 weeks with a broken wrist. Samberg was injured on Saturday during a preseason contest against the Calgary Flames from a hit by Flames forward Ryan Lomberg. Unfortunately, Samberg will miss a significant portion of the season for the second consecutive year. He broke his foot early in the previous season, playing in only 60 games. In the games he played, Samberg was very effective for the Jets, producing a plus-34 rating. He recorded 20 points (six goals, 14 assists), 95 shots, 120 blocks, and 56 hits.

Dylan Samberg Agrees to Three-Year Contract with Jets

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dylan Samberg has agreed to a three-year, $17.25 million contract extension. Samberg was scheduled to have a salary arbitration hearing later today, but the two sides managed to avoid it. On Monday, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported that Samberg set his contract value in arbitration at $6 million, while the Jets were looking to get him for $2.5 million. The agreed deal gives Samberg's contract an average annual value of $5.75 million. While Samberg doesn't do much from a fantasy perspective, he has developed into a highly reliable blue-liner in Winnipeg. Last season, Samberg finished seventh in the NHL with a plus-34 rating, earning 20 points (six goals, 14 assists) and blocking 154 shots in 60 games.

Dylan Samberg Returns To Jets Lineup Friday

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dylan Samberg (foot) will rejoin the lineup for Friday's tilt against Los Angeles. Samberg broke his foot on Nov. 23 against Nashville and has missed 21 games. He will return to a second-pairing role, bumping Ville Heinola out of the lineup. Samberg has limited fantasy value. In 21 appearances, he has produced six points (three goals, three assists) with 27 shots, 30 blocks, and 24 hits. Three of Samberg's points came during a six-game stretch at the beginning of November.

Dylan Samberg Placed On Injured Reserve With Broken Foot

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dylan Samberg (foot) has been placed on Injured Reserve. He broke his foot in Saturday's 4-1 loss to Nashville and has been ruled out indefinitely. Samberg has chipped in with three goals and three assists in 21 games this season while recording 30 blocks and 24 hits. Ville Heinola (ankle), who has been recalled from a conditioning assignment in the minors, will replace Samberg on the roster. Heinola has been recovering from an ankle infection and hasn't yet played in the NHL this season. He registered one assist in two AHL games during his time with the Manitoba Moose.

Jets Sign Dylan Samberg To Two-Year Extension

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dylan Samberg has signed a two-year extension with an average annual value of $1.4 million. The 24-year-old was a restricted free agent after having completed his first full season in the NHL. The American blue-liner had a minimal impact on offense, logging only two goals and six assists, but he made his presence felt defensively with 93 blocks and 91 hits registered in 63 games. Samberg followed up the NHL campaign with a good performance at the World Championship, where he totaled four points in 10 games as the U.S. finished fourth.
