Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dylan Samberg (foot) will rejoin the lineup for Friday's tilt against Los Angeles. Samberg broke his foot on Nov. 23 against Nashville and has missed 21 games. He will return to a second-pairing role, bumping Ville Heinola out of the lineup. Samberg has limited fantasy value. In 21 appearances, he has produced six points (three goals, three assists) with 27 shots, 30 blocks, and 24 hits. Three of Samberg's points came during a six-game stretch at the beginning of November.
Dylan Samberg Placed On Injured Reserve With Broken Foot
Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dylan Samberg (foot) has been placed on Injured Reserve. He broke his foot in Saturday's 4-1 loss to Nashville and has been ruled out indefinitely. Samberg has chipped in with three goals and three assists in 21 games this season while recording 30 blocks and 24 hits. Ville Heinola (ankle), who has been recalled from a conditioning assignment in the minors, will replace Samberg on the roster. Heinola has been recovering from an ankle infection and hasn't yet played in the NHL this season. He registered one assist in two AHL games during his time with the Manitoba Moose.
Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dylan Samberg has signed a two-year extension with an average annual value of $1.4 million. The 24-year-old was a restricted free agent after having completed his first full season in the NHL. The American blue-liner had a minimal impact on offense, logging only two goals and six assists, but he made his presence felt defensively with 93 blocks and 91 hits registered in 63 games. Samberg followed up the NHL campaign with a good performance at the World Championship, where he totaled four points in 10 games as the U.S. finished fourth.
