Josh Morrissey Notches Three Assists In Friday's Win

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey helped out on all of the team's goals in Friday's 3-2 overtime victory versus Chicago, logging his fifth career three-assist game. With the effort, Morrissey became the third blue-liner in franchise history to record back-to-back 40-point seasons. He's totaled 41 points (seven goals, 34 assists) in 55 games for the campaign. Six of the points have come across his last three appearances as Morrissey has started to heat up again after going through a mid-season slump.

Josh Morrissey A Game-Time Call For Saturday

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey (lower body) is considered a game-time decision for Saturday's matchup against the Maple Leafs. The 28-year-old was limited to only 7:17 of action against Toronto on Wednesday, and he would be out for the first time this season if Morrissey isn't in the lineup on Saturday. However, he was able to practice on Friday, and it's considered likely that Morrissey will play. Morrissey is tied for 12th in scoring among defensemen, registering 33 points (seven goals, 26 assists) in 46 appearances. Forward Gabriel Vilardi (lower body) is also a game-time call and could be back from a two-game absence on Saturday.

Josh Morrissey On Track To Play Wednesday

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey (face) appears ready to play Wednesday versus Detroit. He took a puck to the face Monday against Montreal and skipped Tuesday's optional skate. However, Morrissey was back on the ice Wednesday morning, which suggests that he isn't limited in any way and feels good to go. Morrissey hasn't yet missed any games this season and is enjoying another fruitful campaign. In 30 appearances, he's contributed five goals and 27 points.

Josh Morrissey Sets Jets Record With Four Assists

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey wrote his name in history on Tuesday night by becoming the team's first-ever blue-liner to post four assists in a single game. He put on a playmaking clinic in a 6-3 victory over New Jersey. Two of Morrissey's helpers came on the power play. Morrissey is also now the second rearguard in Jets history with multiple four-point games, joining Dustin Byfuglien. The 28-year-old set himself very high standards with a 76-point campaign last season, but Morrissey isn't far from matching his output in 2023-24, with him averaging just 0.04 points fewer. In 15 outings, Morrissey has had one goal and 13 assists.

Josh Morrissey Feeling "100 Percent Ready To Go"

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey has fully healed from a lower-body injury suffered during the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs and is ready to start a new campaign. "Been taking my time with it, really trying to do it right, using all the different modalities and things you can do," Morrissey told NHL.com about his injury. "I'm 100 percent ready to go. No lingering issues at all." Morrissey had a huge breakout campaign in 2022-23 with 76 points (16 goals, 60 assists) in 78 games, more than doubling his previous career-high in scoring. It will be hard to replicate it during the upcoming campaign, but he will no doubt play a major role for the Jets again.

Josh Morrissey Done For Rest Of First-Round Series

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey has been ruled out for the rest of the first-round series against Vegas after he suffered a lower-body injury in Saturday's Game 3. He was injured in a collision with Golden Knights defenseman Zach Whitecloud and logged just 1:14 of action in the contest. This is an awful blow for the Jets, as Morrissey has played a huge part for the team this season on both ends of the ice, logging 60 assists and 76 points in 78 regular-season outings with 89 hits and 119 blocks. Following Morrissey's exit, Neal Pionk took on a lot of extra shifts and finished with a whopping 41:08 of ice time in a double-overtime game. He tied a franchise record for most points and assists in a playoff game with three helpers, and Pionk appears set to play a massive role for the rest of the way in the series.

Josh Morrissey Sets New Record With 20th Multi-Point Outing

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey logged a goal and two assists in Monday's 6-2 win over San Jose, setting a new franchise record for most multi-point games in a season by a defenseman. Dustin Byfuglien had held the mark with 19 games since 2011-12, but Monday marked Morrissey's 20th such outing in 2022-23. Morrissey's scoring pace has dropped significantly at the end of the season, but he is still averaging close to a point per game, having tallied 16 goals and 59 assists in 77 outings. Blake Wheeler and Marc Savard are the only players in franchise history to post more assists in one season.

Josh Morrissey Expected Back Sunday

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey (illness) is expected to rejoin the lineup Sunday versus New Jersey. He was a late scratch with an illness for Friday's 6-2 win over Detroit. Recent times have been rough for Morrissey, as he has gone scoreless in eight of his last nine appearances, but it's been a memorable season for him overall. The 28-year-old has notched 15 goals and 69 points across 73 games. Neal Pionk led the blue line in ice time and skated on the first power-play unit Friday, but he will take a smaller role with Morrissey back.

Josh Morrissey A Game-Time Call Tuesday

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey (lower body) is regarded as a game-time decision for Tuesday's matchup against Carolina. He was unavailable for the first time this season on Sunday when the Jets beat Tampa Bay 3-2. The 27-year-old has had a huge career year in 2022-23 with 67 points in 66 games. Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey is regarded as doubtful for Sunday's clash with Tampa Bay after exiting Saturday's 5-4 overtime victory against Florida with an undisclosed injury. He took only one shift in the third period, finishing with 16:40 of ice time. Morrissey couldn't contribute anything offensively this time around, but he was plus-one for the game and had two blocks and one hit with two penalty minutes. The 27-year-old is having a huge career year with 67 points in 66 games and his presence will be missed all over the ice.

Josh Morrissey Notches Three Points In Win Over Oilers

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey recorded two goals and had one assist as the team avenged Friday's loss to the Oilers with a 7-5 victory Saturday. Morrissey had an awful outing in the first game, going scoreless and finishing a 5-3 defeat with a minus-four rating, but he more than made up for it Saturday night. His second goal, which was scored on the power play, even ended up as the game-winning tally. Despite Friday's nightmare, Morrissey now boasts seven points from his last three outings. The 27-year-old is fourth among all defensemen with 15 goals and sits second with 66 points.

Morrissey reached 13 goals for the campaign and became the first blue-liner in franchise history to pick up 50 assists in a season. Sitting on 63 points through 61 games, Morrissey needs to add just 13 more points to double his last year's career-best tally of 37 points, which perfectly sums up his huge improvement in 2022-23.

The talented defenseman has had a great season with ten goals and 43 assists in just 52 games. Josh Morrissey Questionable For Tuesday

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey (lower body) is regarded as questionable for Tuesday's matchup against Calgary. He sustained a lower-body injury last week and was able to play through it Saturday versus Edmonton, but it's possible that Morrissey will still need some time off to fully recover. He has been ever-present for the team so far in 2022-23, going off for a superb 42-point campaign in 37 games. Kyle Capobianco joined Dylan DeMelo as Morrissey's replacement in Monday's practice and is also set to fill in for him Tuesday if Morrissey isn't able to play.

He has already surpassed his previous career-high in points and boasts six goals and 36 assists through 36 appearances.
