Owen Power A Game-Time Call Sunday

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Owen Power (hand) could be back in action on Sunday versus Carolina. Power has missed six games, but he's been practicing since Wednesday, albeit in a non-contact jersey. "He needs to be cleared and we'll find out right now," Sabres head coach Don Granato said Sunday morning. "But he's very, very close, if not tonight. So I wouldn't rule him out yet." The 21-year-old has posted 18 points (two goals, 16 assists) in 51 games during his sophomore campaign. Henri Jokiharju's playing time will take a hit once Power is back.

Owen Power Remains Out On Wednesday

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Owen Power (hand) joined the team for the morning skate ahead of Wednesday's contest against Montreal, but he won't return to the lineup just yet. Power will miss a fifth consecutive game. Considering it was announced Power was week-to-week when he injured his hand in practice last Monday, it's very encouraging to see him putting in on-ice work again so soon. Henri Jokiharju has impressed in a larger role during Power's absence and will continue to have elevated fantasy value until he's back. Hokiharju has found his way on the score sheet in back-to-back games, and there could be more to come from him Wednesday in a matchup against a team that allows the fifth-most goals in the league.

Owen Power Makes History With Another Goal

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Owen Power opened the scoring in Thursday's 3-2 victory over Winnipeg, becoming the first rookie blue-liner in franchise history to score in three consecutive games. The 20-year-old was goalless for the whole campaign before things suddenly started to click for him in front of the net this week. Buffalo's overall record for the longest goal streak among defensemen is held by Rasmus Dahlin, who posted it at the start of this season with a five-game run. Power will also be riding a four-game point streak into the next matchup. He has tallied 19 points in total for the year in 45 games, adding 55 blocks with a plus-13 rating.

Owen Power Back For Sabres On Thursday

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Owen Power (lower body) will return from a three-game absence against Detroit on Thursday. He will join the second defensive pairing and should also see time with the second power-play unit. The first pick of the 2021 draft will hope that having some time off will help him to kickstart the season again. Power was on a seven-game scoreless run before getting hurt. He has posted 10 points -- all via assists -- for the season in 29 appearances. The 20-year-old should be able to improve his offensive numbers during the latter half of the campaign, with Buffalo having become the top-scoring squad in the league and putting up nearly four goals a night. Follow rearguard Jacob Bryson (lower body) will also return Thursday.

Owen Power Remains Out Saturday

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Owen Power (lower body) will miss a second consecutive game Saturday versus Arizona. He was hurt during the warmups prior to Thursday's clash with Colorado and Power, unfortunately, hasn't recovered well enough to jump back into the lineup Saturday. The team considers him day-to-day. The first pick of last year's draft has had an up-and-down season so far, tallying 10 points with no goals in 29 games and recording 42 shots with 37 blocks and a plus-nine rating. He has exited the lineup with a seven-game scoring drought.

Owen Power Scores First Career Goal

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Owen Power lit the lamp for the first time ever in Thursday's 5-2 win over New Jersey. He grabbed the team's fourth goal 8:33 into the third period and finished with a plus-three rating. Power was skating in his fifth career game and this marks his second point. The first pick of last year's draft also recorded an assist in his second-ever game against St. Louis. Power has stepped into a big role straight away for the Sabres, logging over 22 minutes per game. He has a plus-one rating through his first five games with five shots, one hit and six blocks.

Owen Power Finishes With Plus Two Rating In NHL Debut

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Owen Power finished with a plus-two rating in Tuesday's 5-2 victory against the Maple Leafs. The first overall draft pick from 2021 logged 19:28 of ice time in his NHL debut, while he was paired with defenseman Henri Jokiharju. Power finished with 32 points in his sophomore season with the University of Michigan, and he then signed a three-year entry level contract with the Sabres. Power is highly regarded in dynasty and keeper formats for his long-term potential in the NHL, and managers in redraft fantasy formats can use an addition on the 19-year-old in the closing stages of their leagues.

Owen Power Set For NHL Debut On Tuesday

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Owen Power is set to make his NHL debut on Tuesday against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The first pick of the 2021 draft signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the club last week and he had his first full practice with the team on Monday. Power is a big two-way defenseman who is set to make an impact at both ends of the ice straight away. The 19-year-old posted 32 points in 33 appearances for the University of Michigan this season and also played for Canada at the Olympics. He will start his life in the NHL with Henri Jokiharju on the second defensive pairing.
