Ridly Greig Returns To Action Tuesday

Ottawa Senators center Ridly Greig (upper body) will rejoin the lineup on Tuesday versus Utah. He has been out for three games due to an upper-body injury. Greig failed to score any points and didn't register a single shot on goal in his first two appearances of the season. He'll aim to do much better on Tuesday as part of the third line against a team that has struggled to keep the puck out of its net -- Utah has a .886 save percentage for the season.

Ridly Greig Out On Monday

Ottawa Senators center Ridly Greig (upper body) will not play against the Kings on Monday. He couldn't practice on Sunday due to an upper-body injury and isn't ready to play either. He will be replaced on the fourth line by Adam Gaudette. Gaudette's only previous appearance this season came last Thursday in a 3-1 win over Florida. He logged 9:23 of ice time while recording two penalty minutes and two hits. The 28-year-old, who was a point-per-game player last term in the AHL, needs to get more ice time to make an impact in fantasy hockey.

Ridly Greig Misses Practice With An Upper-Body Injury

Ottawa Senators center Ridly Greig wasn't on the ice for Sunday's practice because of an upper-body injury. He should be considered a game-time decision for Monday's matinee against the Kings. Greig has seen time with the second and fourth line early in the year, averaging 14:03 of ice time. He has produced two scoreless performances without generating any shots on goal. Adam Gaudette will jump on the fourth line if Greig isn't available for Monday's game. The 28-year-old had a great year in the minors last season, recording 71 points (44 goals, 27 assists) in 67 AHL appearances, but he has averaged only 0.32 points in the NHL.

Ridly Greig Exits Preseason Action For Precautionary Reasons

Ottawa Senators center Ridly Greig couldn't complete Tuesday's preseason game versus Toronto because of a headache. Greig exited the action near the end of the first period after he was taken down by Toronto forward Pontus Holmberg. The young centerman hit his head on the ice when Holmberg pulled him down from behind. Luckily, Greig didn't sustain a serious injury and was only pulled from the contest for precautionary reasons. He finished with four shots on goal and two hits across 5:13 of action. Greig totaled 26 points (13 goals, 13 assists) in 72 games during his first full NHL season in 2023-24. He should be capable of even more as a middle-six piece on the frontline this season.

Ridly Greig "Won't Play Anytime Soon"

Ottawa Senators center Ridly Greig (lower body) isn't expected to play "anytime soon." He was injured on Thursday against the Kings, leaving Ottawa without another big contributor after the team lost multiple defensemen from its lineup. Greig has had an impressive start to the season as the third-line center, notching seven points (two goals, five assists) in nine games. Ottawa also lost Mark Kastelic (lower body) on Thursday, meaning Roby Jarventie will get a chance to make his NHL debut on Saturday versus Tampa Bay, while Zack MacEwen also gets back into the lineup.

Ridly Greig Expected To Miss Multiple Games

Ottawa Senators center Ridly Greig suffered a lower-body injury Thursday against Los Angeles and is expected to miss "a few games." The team also lost Mark Kastelic (lower body) in the contest, but Greig's absence from the lineup is a significantly bigger blow. The 21-year-old has opened the season in impressive form and boasted seven points (two goals, five assists) in eight games before Thursday's short-lived outing. Rourke Chartier moved to Greig's spot on the third line in Thursday's game and looks set to receive a bit more work in the upcoming games.
