Claude Giroux News
Ottawa Senators forward Claude Giroux had a hand on both of the team's goals in Wednesday's 2-1 victory over the Islanders, helping Shane Pinto to start the scoring and registering the game-winning tally on the power play. The veteran star moved to 42 points for the season. Giroux now boasts four multi-point efforts for the month, but he has blown hot and cold, giving fantasy managers plenty of disappointing nights. However, he has now picked up points in back-to-back games, which is a sign of Giroux finding some consistency, and he still has three more games to pick up momentum before the league stops for the All-Star Game.
Ottawa Senators forward Claude Giroux factored in both of the team's goals in Monday's 4-2 defeat to the Islanders, reaching nine games with his current point streak. He is now just one game short of matching his career-high 10-game run from 2016-17 and 2017-18. Giroux picked up a power-play assist on a Drake Batherson strike and had a goal himself as well, reaching eight markers for the campaign. The former Flyer has provided a major boost to his scoring numbers with recent outings, amassing five points in his past two games, to get to 17 points for the season. Giroux has always been a consistent scorer and hasn't slowed down one bit even with his 35th birthday only a couple of months away.
Ottawa Senators forward Claude Giroux scored the 300th goal of his NHL career against his former club, Philadelphia, Saturday. The Senators have now lost five in a row as they were shut down by the Flyers 2-1. Giroux's goal was his sixth of the season. He now has 11 points in 10 contests. The veteran winger can hopefully keep his hot point streak going, as he has logged six points in five Senators games.
Florida Panthers forward Claude Giroux finished Thursday's 2-1 loss to Tampa Bay with an assist, posting his eighth postseason point in eight games for the team. Ray Sheppard (10) and Stu Barnes (9) are the only players in franchise history to register more points in their first eight playoff games with the team. Giroux boasts three goals and five assists with 15 shots and a plus-six rating. He's been a big addition to the Panthers offense, although it's worth noting that the veteran forward grabbed five of his points during a two-game stretch at the end of the first round.
