Jordan Spence Traded to Ottawa

The Ottawa Senators have acquired defenseman Jordan Spence in a trade with the Los Angeles Kings. The 24-year-old blue-liner fetched a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 sixth-round pick. Spence departs L.A. after putting up a career-high 28 points (four goals, 24 assists) in 79 appearances in 2024-25. Additionally, he was among the Kings' leaders with a plus-23 rating. Spence should add a bit of offensive spark to the Senators blue line, but he likely won't see enough ice time to make a significant impact in most fantasy leagues.

Jordan Spence Signs Two-Year Extension With Kings

Los Angeles Kings defenseman Jordan Spence signed a two-year extension on Thursday. He received a $3 million deal after completing his entry-level contract. Spence established himself as a full-time NHLer last season, making 71 appearances. He finished with 24 points (two goals, 22 assists), 80 shots, 55 blocks, and 67 hits. The 23-year-old was one of only five defensemen to record 12 penalty minutes or fewer with at least 70 games played. Spence, who has the distinction of being the first Australian-born player in NHL history, fills a third-pairing role in Los Angeles and doesn't carry a lot of fantasy value.
