Sam Lafferty And Ilya Mikheyev Drawing Into Game 7 Lineup

Vancouver Canucks forwards Sam Lafferty and Ilya Mikheyev (undisclosed) will draw back into the lineup for Game 7 against the Edmonton Oilers on Monday. Lafferty will replace Vasily Podkolzin, who will be a healthy scratch, and will play on Vancouver's fourth line. Mikheyev will do his best to replace Brock Boeser (blood clotting) on the Canucks top line alongside J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson, who have been reunited for this winner-take-all game. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Mikheyev get shifted around during the game, especially if the line gets off to a slow start. Still, he makes for a solid DFS play tonight.

Sam Lafferty Traded To Canucks

The Vancouver Canucks acquired forward Sam Lafferty from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday for a 2024 fifth-round draft pick. Lafferty moved on from Toronto after playing in just 19 games for the team over the final stretch of 2022-23. He started last season with the Chicago Blackhawks and enjoyed a career year with 12 goals and 27 points in 70 games. Lafferty has also played two and a half seasons in Pittsburgh and has tallied 59 points (23 goals, 36 assists) in 210 career games. Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin has praised Lafferty's speed and penalty-killing ability, which will come in handy for a team that had the NHL's worst penalty kill last season.

Sam Lafferty Sits Again Sunday

Chicago Blackhawks forward Sam Lafferty (upper body) will remain out for Sunday's matchup against Winnipeg. He was hurt Wednesday against Dallas and couldn't play the day after versus Montreal. The 27-year-old has had some time to recover since then, but he hasn't been able to get game-ready for Sunday. Lafferty has been a reliable bottom-six forward for Chicago, posting seven points in 19 games this season and adding 26 hits. His next chance to return comes on Wednesday against the Oilers.
