Sam Steel Fantasy Stats

Dallas Stars forward Sam Steel has landed a contract extension ahead of the new season. He will be on a four-year, $14.8 million contract heading into the 2027-28 campaign. Steel earned a significant raise from his current deal, which pays him $2.1 million annually. While his numbers don't jump out, Steel has been a consistent contributor for the Stars, bagging a career-high 33 points (12 goals, 21 assists) in 73 contests last season. At 28, he's in his prime years, and significant improvement isn't anticipated moving forward

Dallas Stars center Sam Steel (hip) will play in Wednesday's regular-season finale against the Buffalo Sabres. The 28-year-old had been ever-present in the Stars' lineup this season before landing on the shelf with a hip injury in late March and missing nine games. Steel has bagged a career-high 33 points (12 goals, 21 assists) in 72 outings. He has benefited from Dallas' many injuries, and this might also be the case during the playoffs, as Roope Hintz (lower body) has already been ruled out for at least the first two postseason games. On Wednesday night, Steel will get a look on the top line next to Wyatt Johnston and Mikko Rantanen.

Dallas Stars center Sam Steel (undisclosed) has returned home after being hurt on Thursday against the New York Islanders, Mike Heika of the Stars' official site reports. The Stars began a four-game road trip on Long Island, but Steel will miss the final three games. It's unclear whether Steel will be available when the team returns home to face the Winnipeg Jets on April 2. The 28-year-old has seen regular top-six action this season, recording a career-high 33 points (12 goals, 21 assists) in 72 contests. Mikko Rantanen (lower body) appears ready to return to action this weekend and will replace Steel in the top six.

Dallas Stars center Sam Steel (undisclosed) didn't finish Thursday's 2-1 loss to the New York Islanders, Mike Heika of the Stars' official site reports. He exited the action in the third period due to an undisclosed injury. Steel's ice time has increased throughout the season due to injuries, and it's helped him to record a career-high 33 points (12 goals, 21 assists) in 72 games. But he may now be sidelined himself. Fortunately for Dallas, Mikko Rantanen (lower body) is close to returning and will practice on Friday. Meanwhile, Michael Bunting, who was a healthy scratch on Thursday, is an option to rejoin the lineup for this weekend's back-to-back against Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.

According to the team, the Dallas Stars are signing center Sam Steel to a two-year extension through the 2026-2027 season. The deal is worth $4.2 million and has an average annual value of $2.1 million. Steel has typically been deployed in the bottom six of the Dallas lineup. Across 53 contests this season, the 27-year-old has found the back of the net four times and added 13 helpers. He has also logged 46 hits and 16 blocked shots and held a -2 rating. He has only tallied two points (both helpers) over his previous 12 games with the Stars. Last season, he enjoyed similar production, tallying 24 points (nine goals, 15 helpers) across 77 contests. Fantasy managers should expect Steel to continue to see time in the bottom six and carry little fantasy appeal.

Minnesota Wild forward Sam Steel will miss Monday's game against Florida as a healthy scratch. Ryan Reaves will come into the lineup to skate in his 800th career game. Steel is getting benched after going 10 points without a point. He spent a large chunk of the stretch as the first-line center, so Steel's recent form has been very disappointing. The 25-year-old has tallied eight goals and 22 points in 50 games for the season. Ryan Hartman has regained the top center role and will look to score in a second consecutive game Monday.

Anaheim Ducks forward Sam Steel (upper body) will miss at least a couple of more games after he was placed on Injured Reserve. The 24-year-old sat out Saturday's 2-1 shootout loss to New Jersey and needs some time to recover from an upper-body injury. Steel has notched 17 points across 51 outings this season. Anaheim's forwards have dropped like flies lately, but there was also some good news on Saturday as Isac Lundestrom and Trevor Zegras returned to action. Ryan Getzlaf (lower body) and Jakob Silfverberg (undisclosed) still remain on the shelf.

Anaheim Ducks forward Sam Steel will stay on the top line Wednesday night against the Seattle Kraken. The assist and two shots on goal in St. Louis was enough to keep him with Troy Terry and Ryan Getzlaf. Does the injury to Adam Henrique help Steel? There is no doubt. According to "Magpie Hockey", Steel was one of the three worst players against the St. Louis Blues on Sunday night. The forward has four goals and two assists in 23 games played this season in a mere 13:12 of game action per night.
