Scott Wedgewood Shuts The Door On Monday

Colorado Avalanche goaltender Scott Wedgewood stopped all 20 shots he faced en route to posting a shutout victory against the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday evening. The shot total was quite even throughout the contest but Wedgewood was able to step up when called on. This outing extended his current win streak to two games. Even though Wedgewood does not see consistent time in the net, he has been a steady No. 2 option when called on. Over his previous five starts, Wedgewood has held a 3-2 record with a 1.62 GAA and a .929 save percentage. Through 17 total contests, the 32-year-old has posted an 8-6-1 record with a .908 save percentage and a 2.49 GAA. Fantasy managers should expect Mackenzie Blackwood to get the starting nod against the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday evening.

Scott Wedgewood Unavailable On Saturday

Colorado Avalanche goaltender Scott Wedgewood (lower body) will be out on Saturday against Montreal and faces a multi-game absence. The veteran netminder suffered a lower-body injury in Thursday's matchup against Buffalo. "He's still getting evaluated, so I'm guessing it's going to be week to week," Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar said on Friday. Wedgewood, who was acquired in a trade from Nashville on Nov. 30, has impressed with his new team, going 4-2-0 with a 2.35 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage. Kevin Mandolese and Trent Miner will be the backup options behind Mackenzie Blackwood while Wedgewood recovers.

Scott Wedgewood Leaves Thursday's Game Early

According to Jesse Montano of Guerilla Sports, Colorado Avalanche goaltender Scott Wedgewood (lower body) departed Thursday's game early. When Wedgewood left in the third period, he was unable to put any weight on his right leg and needed assistance to leave the ice. Before exiting, he stopped 14 of the 18 shots he faced against the Buffalo Sabres. Fantasy managers should continue to closely monitor his status, as he may have to miss a significant amount of time given how serious the injury looked during the game. In the short term, fantasy managers should expect Mackenzie Blackwood to receive the vast majority of the starts. Entering Thursday, Wedgewood was carrying a strong 3-1 record with a 1.79 goals-against average and a .934 save percentage over his previous four starts.

Scott Wedgewood Impresses With Shutout Performance Versus Devils

Colorado Avalanche goaltender Scott Wedgewood had a memorable outing against New Jersey on Sunday, collecting his first shutout of the season in a 4-0 road win. Wedgewood was unbeatable for his former team, recording 25 saves. The veteran netminder, who arrived from Nashville on Nov. 30 as the two teams switched backup goalies, has had an impressive start with his new club. Through three outings, Wedgewood boasts a 2-1-0 record, allowing 1.44 goals with a .951 save percentage. Colorado's No. 1 Alexandar Georgiev has not been good this season, so Wedgewood might find himself carrying a significant workload in Denver.

Scott Wedgewood Faces Devils On Sunday

Colorado Avalanche goaltender Scott Wedgewood will be between the sticks for Sunday's matchup against New Jersey. He'll make his second start for the team after arriving from Nashville a week ago. The veteran netminder suffered a 5-3 loss in his first start against Carolina, but Wedgewood has impressed by stopping 52 of 56 shots across his first two appearances with the Avalanche. He made his debut in a relief effort against Buffalo on Tuesday, helping the team turn a 4-0 deficit into a 5-4 win. Wedgewood will have a tricky task on his hands against his former team on Sunday, as the Devils average the sixth-most goals in the league (3.52).

Scott Wedgewood Set To Face Former Team On Thursday

Nashville Predators goaltender Scott Wedgewood is expected to get the start against the Dallas Stars on Thursday. Wedgewood gets a chance to take on his former team on opening night due to Juuse Saros' (lower body) injury. The 32-year-old played well in Texas last season, going 16-7-5 with a 2.85 goals-against average and a .899 save percentage. Wedgewood should know a thing or two about stopping the Dallas attack, but he has to outbattle Jake Oettinger to get the victory on Thursday. Four years into his NHL career, Oettinger has yet to lose his season debut.

Scott Wedgewood Faces Rangers On Monday

Dallas Stars goaltender Scott Wedgewood will give a breather to Jake Oettinger on Monday, making his fifth start of 2023-24 in a very tough matchup against the Rangers. Wedgewood boasts a winning record at 3-1-0 but has allowed over three goals per game (3.02) with a .917 save percentage, and he now faces a team that sits third in the league with a 12-2-1 record. The Rangers head to Texas with a four-game winning streak and have gone 9-0-1 across their last 10 matches, so this is an extremely uncomfortable spot for Wedgewood.

Scott Wedgewood In Goal For Dallas

In his last outing, Dallas Stars netminder Scott Wedgewood ended a two-game losing streak by making 26 saves on 27 shots. This victory marked his return to the ice after a break since February 18th due to an injury. He has been a dependable backup for the Stars this season, maintaining a record of 8-8-3, goals- against-average of 2.76, and a save percentage of .916. In their next match, the Stars will face the St. Louis Blues the next two games. They are coming off a 5-3 loss to Minnesota, halting their two-game winning streak.

Scott Wedgewood Gets The Nod Monday

Dallas Stars goalie Scott Wedgewood has been out of action since February 18th due to a lower-body injury. Nevertheless, the 30-year-old backup has performed well when needed in goal, boasting a 7-8-3 record, a .913 save percentage, and a 2.92 goals-against-average. He is slated to start against the Nashville Predators, who have won two out of their last three games and rank 27th in the NHL in goals per game at 2.76.

Scott Wedgewood Unavailable Wednesday

Dallas Stars goaltender Scott Wedgewood (undisclosed) won't dress for Wednesday's matchup against Chicago after getting hurt Saturday versus Columbus. He reportedly tweaked something in the game and head coach Peter DeBoer hoped that Wedgewood would be fine for Wednesday's clash, but that's not the case. Matt Murray has been summoned from the minors to work as Jake Oettinger's backup against the Blackhawks. Chicago has improved lately, but the team still has the third-worst offensive record in the league, so this should be a routine win for Oettinger, who has had an outstanding campaign with a 23-7-9 record.

Scott Wedgewood Neutralizes The Kings

Dallas Stars goaltender Scott Wedgewood impressed against the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday, posting a 34-save shutout in a 4-0 road win. The Kings average 3.24 goals on home ice but didn't get anything against Wedgewood, who had given up six goals to Calgary in his previous start. The Stars backup had dropped three decisions in a row before popping up with his first shutout on Thursday. He improved to 7-6-3 for the year and has registered a 2.97 goals-against average with a .911 save percentage. Jake Oettinger also boasts a shutout from this week, so playing on this Stars team must be a dream for every goalie.

Scott Wedgewood Day-To-Day After Being Stretchered Off Thursday

Dallas Stars goalie Scott Wedgewood (upper-body) is day-to-day with an upper-body injury and is doubtful for Saturday's game against the New York Islanders. It would have been a surprise if Wedgewood was able to go Saturday, given he was stretchered off on Thursday. However, the Stars backup netminder was apparently in good spirits after the contest and was seen walking. He shouldn't be out too long, which is good news for the Stars, as he's done an admirable job filling in for Jake Oettinger when needed. On the year, he has a 4-3-1 record with a .904 SV%, 3.23 GAA, and -0.3 GSAA, perfectly fine numbers for a backup.

Scott Wedgewood Starts Potential Playoff Clincher

Dallas Stars goaltender Scott Wedgewood will be between the pipes against Arizona on Wednesday as the team looks to lock up a playoff spot. The Stars secure a postseason berth if they manage to get at least a point from the game and Vegas doesn't beat Chicago on Wednesday. Wedgewood started the season as a Coyote, so it's been quite a ride for him, going from one of the worst teams in the league to a side that will likely compete for the Stanley Cup. The 29-year-old has put together a 6-3-1 record with Dallas, giving up 2.91 goals per game with a .917 save percentage. Arizona has won just three of the last 20 games and anything else than a victory for Wedgewood and the Stars would be a huge surprise on Wednesday.

Scott Wedgewood Goes For Third Straight Win On Monday

Arizona Coyotes goaltender Scott Wedgewood is looking to record his third straight victory in Monday's matchup against Ottawa. His recent outings actually haven't gone too well, but the Coyotes offense has given Wedgewood a chance to improve his record, with the team beating the Senators 8-5 a couple of weeks back and shocking Toronto with a 5-4 overtime win last Thursday. Wedgewood carries a 9-13-3 record ahead of Monday's action and has registered a 3.17 goals-against average with a .906 save percentage. The Coyotes are currently having their best spell of the season with four wins in five games, but fantasy managers shouldn't forget that they are the second-worst team in the league.

Scott Wedgewood Gets The Start Against San Jose Tuesday

Arizona Coyotes goaltender Scott Wedgewood will be in goal for Arizona versus the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night. Wedgewood last played on December 17th where he managed to defeat the Anaheim Ducks despite allowing five goals on 37 shots. The Arizona goalie has allowed three or more goals in five straight contests and has seen his number plummet. Wedgewood now sports a 3.10 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage. He has seen over 400 shots in 13 appearances for Arizona and the chances Wedgewood sees around 35 or more shots on Tuesday is also pretty high.

Scott Wedgewood Tries To Snap Losing Streak Monday

Arizona Coyotes goaltender Scott Wedgewood attempts to snap out of a three-game skid on Monday night. Wedgewood goes up against the Dallas Stars. In his last start versus Dallas, the Arizona goalie allowed three goals on 29 shots in defeat. Wedgewood has seen his numbers start to backslide a bit. He is up to a 2.86 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage. There is a chance the Arizona goaltending situation is about to get more crowded. Wedgewood needs to find a way to start making some saves. He seeks his fourth win on the season Monday night in a vital start for his future playing time.

Scott Wedgewood Besieged By Edmonton On Wednesday In Loss

Arizona Coyotes goaltender Scott Wedgewood felt the full force of the Leon Draisaitl-Connor McDavid duo on Wednesday night. The Edmonton Oilers' forwards combined for 14 shots on goal and played a role in all four goals against Wedgewood. In all, the Arizona goaltender faced 43 shots and 14 high-danger scoring chances (10 in the second period alone). It was a long night for Wedgewood as he stopped 39 shots during Edmonton's road onslaught. The loss dropped the Arizona goaltender back under .500 and ended Arizona's four-game point streak.

Scott Wedgewood Tries To Keep Momentum Going

Arizona Coyotes goaltender Scott Wedgewood starts at home versus the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday night. He has buoyed Arizona to something resembling respectability. Wedgewood has a 3-3-2 record overall for the Coyotes and is 2-0-1 in his previous three decisions. For Arizona, his goals saved above average is 4.9 in just six appearances. Whether it is daily fantasy or season-long, Wedgewood is at least worth a waiver wire pickup at the least. Maybe the 29-year old has finally found a goaltending home.

Scott Wedgewood Stays Hot, Stops 33 Shots

Recently-acquired goaltender Scott Wedgewood stopped 33 of 34 shots on Saturday night to help the Coyotes defeat the Detroit Red Wings in overtime by a score of 2-1. The goalie was recently added via the waiver wire from the New Jersey Devils and he's played exceptionally well since joining his new team. The 29-year-old has a .940 SV% and 2.04 GAA in six appearances. Although the Coyotes are a bad team, Wedgewood is currently worth starting against modest opponents but should still be avoided against elite teams. Coyotes forwards Ryan Dzingel and Clayton Keller provided the offense in from of their teammate. The former has now scored in two straight games after missing 10 contests due to an upper-body injury.

Scott Wedgewood Starts Again for Arizona at Home

Arizona Coyotes goaltender Scott Wedgewood gets the nod on Saturday once again. This time Arizona entertains the Detroit Red Wings. Wedgewood is 2-3-2 on the season but both of his wins have come in a Coyotes uniform. The goaltender has three quality starts and an overtime loss in his last four starts. Right now, Wedgewood gives Arizona their best chance of winning games while keeping scores somewhat down. He may not see 46 shots this time against Detroit. This is not Columbus after all.
