Tyler Kleven Ready for Season Debut Monday

Ottawa Senators defenseman Tyler Kleven (undisclosed) plans to return to action Monday against the Nashville Predators, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports. An undisclosed injury has kept Kleven out for the first two games of the season, and he has started the year on Injured Reserve. Kleven is eligible to be activated from Injured Reserve on Monday. Kleven's return is great news for the Senators, but he has little fantasy impact. In 2024-25, the 23-year-old recorded 10 points (four goals, six assists), 78 shots, 97 blocks, and 105 hits over 79 games.

Tyler Kleven Traveling With Senators

Ottawa Senators defenseman Tyler Kleven (undisclosed) has traveled with the team to Quebec City for a pair of preseason games. The 23-year-old was injured in a preseason contest against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday but appears to be close to returning. If Kleven can't play in the games in Quebec City, he will still have two more preseason matchups to get some action before the regular season begins. Last year, Kleven finished his rookie campaign with 10 points (four goals, six assists), 78 shots, 97 blocks, and 105 hits in 79 outings. Fantasy managers can't get much from him, but he's a solid piece for the Senators blue line.

Tyler Kleven Suffers Undisclosed Injury Against Maple Leafs

Ottawa Senators defenseman Tyler Kleven (undisclosed) was injured in Sunday's 4-3 loss in a preseason game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. According to Alex Adams of Sportsnet, Kleven left the bench after a collision early in the third period. The 23-year-old finished the action with one shot, two hits, and a minus-one rating across 13:20 of ice time. Early reports suggest that Kleven's exit was precautionary and that he isn't seriously hurt. Last season, the American rearguard had his first full year in the NHL, producing 10 points (four goals, six assists) in 79 games while blocking 97 shots and delivering 105 hits. Due to his limited offensive output, fantasy managers should overlook Kleven.

Tyler Kleven Inks Two-Year Extension with Senators

Ottawa Senators defenseman Tyler Kleven has come to terms on a two-year, $3.2 million contract extension with the team. He was set to become a restricted free agent before the deal was announced. Kleven had his rookie campaign with the Senators in 2024-25, recording 10 points (four goals, six assists), 78 shots, 97 blocks, and 105 hits in 79 outings. The 23-year-old contributed a couple of assists in six games during the playoffs. "Tyler continued to elevate his game in his first NHL season, which was a good sign," Senators general manager Steve Staios said in a statement. "We expect his game will continue to develop." Ottawa is pleased with Kleven's progress, but the former second-round pick lacks fantasy appeal due to his offensive limitations.
