Buffalo Sabres left wing Zach Benson (lower body) could be back in action against Ottawa on Tuesday. After missing five games with a lower-body injury, Benson came through full practice on Monday. Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff called Benson "a possibility" for Tuesday's game. Benson had a quiet start to the campaign before getting injured, failing to post any points in six outings. However, he's seen as a top-six piece in Buffalo, and the scoring should eventually come for the talented winger. Benson skated on the second line on Monday, joining fellow youngsters Dylan Cozens and Jack Quinn.

Zach Benson Could Play Next Week
Buffalo Sabres winger Zach Benson (lower body) has a chance to return next week if his recovery continues to go well, according to head coach Lindy Ruff. Benson has missed the last three games due to a lingering lower-body injury that has hampered him all season. He won't play Friday against the New York Islanders or Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings, but could be back next week at some point. The 19-year-old sophomore doesn't have a point yet in six games, but has scoring upside and could work his way into the top six if he plays well. He should be considered a buy-low in dynasty formats, and in redraft leagues he could turn into a streamer or even a bench option later in the season.

Zach Benson Good To Go On Thursday
Buffalo Sabres winger Zach Benson (lower body) will play against Los Angeles on Thursday. After sustaining a lower-body injury versus New Jersey at the weekend, Benson was initially considered a game-time call for the team's home opener. The 19-year-old will skate with Tage Thompson and Alex Tuch on the first line and should see time on the second power-play unit. Jiri Kulich also remains in the top six, with JJ Peterka (concussion) sidelined.

Zach Benson Nursing A Lower-Body Injury
Buffalo Sabres winger Zach Benson missed Saturday's meeting with New Jersey due to a lower-body injury. The 19-year-old managed to log 17:23 of ice time when the teams opened the 2024-25 NHL campaign on Friday in Prague, but he was taken out of the lineup for Saturday's rematch. Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff told reporters that Benson played through the injury on Friday. Benson enjoyed a 30-point rookie campaign last season, making 71 appearances. Jiri Kulich replaced him on the second line on Saturday. It's currently unclear if Benson will be ready to return to the lineup when the Sabres face the Los Angeles Kings in their next game on Thursday.

Zach Benson Will Stick In NHL
Buffalo Sabres winger Zach Benson is set to play in his 10th game of the season on Friday, which will burn the first year of his ELC. Benson was drafted 13th overall in this year's draft, which is a spot that normally doesn't see players play in the NHL right away. Nonetheless, the Sabres have seen enough from Benson to make him a full-time NHLer. The 18-year-old has five points in nine games while playing on the second line and second powerplay unit. He might not have a fantasy-relevant season, but he is a huge asset in dynasty leagues.

Zach Benson Back For Buffalo On Friday
Buffalo Sabres left wing Zach Benson (lower body) will rejoin the lineup Friday versus Winnipeg. The young winger has been activated from Injured Reserve and is expected to play for the first time since Oct. 29. Benson's rookie campaign has yet to take off, with the 18-year-old going goalless and having only two points through six appearances. He'll be riding with the second line and the second power-play unit in Friday's contest.

Zach Benson Ruled Out Week-To-Week
Buffalo Sabres left wing Zach Benson (lower body) will be out week-to-week after aggravating the injury he was dealing with a few weeks back. Benson, who broke into the Sabres team with an impressive preseason, missed a pair of games recently with a lower-body injury and faces a longer absence now. The talented winger has notched two points in his first six career games this season. Brandon Biro, who's been on fire in the AHL early in the season, was recalled from the minors on Tuesday and replaced Benson on the first line in practice.

Zach Benson Misses Another Game Monday
Buffalo Sabres left wing Zach Benson (lower body) will remain sidelined for Monday's encounter with the Canadiens. The young winger got hurt last Thursday versus Calgary and skipped Saturday's meeting with the Islanders despite returning to practice on the same day. Benson was again on the ice Monday morning, but the team will keep him out of the lineup for now. Sabres head coach Don Granato noted that Benson could probably play through the injury, so he's not dealing with a serious issue. He won't have to wait long for his next opportunity to return, as Buffalo is also in action on Tuesday, taking on Ottawa in a road game.

Zach Benson Out On Saturday
Buffalo Sabres left wing Zach Benson (upper body) won't play Saturday against the Islanders. The 19-year-old was injured Thursday' against Calgary and couldn't practice on Friday. He was back on the ice Saturday morning, but Benson is still dealing with some soreness and will sit out the contest. It's been a decent start to his rookie campaign, as Benson boasts two points in four games. His injury gives a chance for Victor Olofsson to re-enter the lineup. The Swedish winger has been a healthy scratch for the last couple of games after finishing the first two games of the season pointless and with only one shot on goal and a minus-two rating.

Zach Benson Day-To-Day With Lower-Body Injury
Buffalo Sabres forward Zach Benson did not practice Friday and is considered day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Benson's status for Saturday's game against the New York Islanders is up in the air and likely won't be known until sometime tomorrow. If he can't play, Victor Olofsson will likely fill in after back-to-back healthy scratches. Olofsson could join the second powerplay unit, which makes him a decent option in DFS where he can likely be grabbed for very little.
