Aidan Smith Launches Ninth Long Ball, Extends Hitting Streak

Seattle Mariners outfield prospect Aidan Smith went 2-for-5 with a home run on Wednesday evening. This was his ninth round-tripper of the campaign, and he extended his incredible hitting streak to 15 games. During this stretch, the former fourth-round selection has posted a .375/.489/.611 line with three long balls and 14 RBI. The 19-year-old has taken a significant step forward in his second stint at Single-A this season as he posted a poor .184 AVG in 14 games at this level last summer. The Lovejoy HS product should be nearing a High-A promotion in the coming weeks due to his stellar play this season and is worth taking a look at in dynasty leagues as he is a rising star in a deep Seattle system.

Aidan Smith Showcasing Upside With Glove, Bat

Seattle Mariners outfield prospect Aidan Smith was a fourth-round pick in 2023 who quickly agreed to an over-slot deal after his selection. He has wasted no time generating buzz in the minors, and he even jumped to No. 13 on MLB Pipeline's Mariners prospect rankings. He's primarily known for his decent defense and above-average running, but the emphasis seems to have shifted following a recent offensive tear. Indeed, just last week, Smith went 9-for-25, and he currently owns an active 14-game hitting streak. He also walked seven times, struck out nine, and stole four bases. The 19-year-old has put up a decent year in all components of the game and entered the first week of July trending upward.

Aidan Smith Extends Hitting Streak With Three-Hit Performance

Seattle Mariners outfield prospect Aidan Smith extended his hitting streak to four games with a three-hit night on Wednesday. He tallied one single, one double, and a long ball. Through his second look at Single-A ball, the 19-year-old has posted a solid .258/.377/.433 line with seven home runs, 34 RBI, 20 stolen bases, and a 41:70 BB:K ratio. This is a significant improvement when comparing it to his .184/.259/.327 line he posted last summer at Single-A. The young outfielder could become a candidate to reach High-A soon if he continues this strong production. Smith is considered the 13th-best prospect in the Seattle system on MLB.com and remains several seasons away from his major league debut.
