Royals
Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Brady Singer threw seven shutout innings on Friday and picked up the win in the Royals' 6-0 win over the Chicago Cubs. Singer struck out five and allowed just two hits while lowering his ERA to 2.82 on the season. The 27-year-old continues to excel with the Royals as Friday marked his third start of the season of seven shutout innings. The righty may be due for negative regression soon as his 4.80 ERA suggests he's overperforming, but Singer continues to get results with a reliance on soft contact. Fantasy managers should continue to have confidence in the right-hander for a least a little longer. He'll get another tasty matchup in his next scheduled start when he heads to Chicago to face the White Sox next Wednesday.

The veteran right-hander will make his next start Friday night against the Chicago Cubs.

Brady Singer Shoves Against Rockies
Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Brady Singer was excellent Sunday, tossing seven one-run innings and picking up the win in a 10-1 victory over the Colorado Rockies. Singer gave up six hits and two walks while punching out seven in this one. The 27-year-old has been excellent over his past four starts, allowing one run in each of them while going at least five frames. The Royals have limited his pitch count in those outings, but fantasy managers will take that if it means he is throwing quality innings. He isn't a must-start option, but in the right matchups he should be in consideration for a lineup spot.

Brady Singer Scratched With Illness
Kansas City Royals right-hander Brady Singer (illness) was scratched from his scheduled start on Thursday against the Minnesota Twins due to an illness. In a corresponding move, the team recalled left-hander Daniel Lynch from Triple-A Omaha and optioned right-hander Carlos Hernandez to Omaha. Lynch will serve as the emergency spot starter for the Royals on Thursday. The 27-year-old Singer should be able to take his next turn in the starting rotation, but fantasy managers will want to monitor the situation. Even if Singer does make his next start, he could be a little more risky in fantasy lineups his next time out. The former 18th overall pick in 2018 out of Florida so far is having the best season of his career, going 4-2 with a 2.63 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with a 64:19 K:BB in 61 2/3 innings over his 11 starts. For a resurgent and young Royals squad, Singer has been a must-roster in all fantasy leagues.

Brady Singer Aiming For More Consistency Saturday
Kansas City Royals right-hander Brady Singer will aim to stay consistent when he takes on the hosting Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday. The 27-year-old has allowed just one earned run in four of his last five outings and two earned runs or fewer in eight of his 10 starts on the season. Add it up and Singer has tossed a 2.70 ERA across 10 starts and 56 2/3 innings of work on the season while going 4-2 in the process. It's a nice bounceback for the righty as Singer scuffled to a 5.52 ERA and a diminished 18.9% K% in 2023. The punchouts have jumped to a healthy 26.1% clip in the 2024 campaign, the highest single-season mark of his career. The Rays have some swing and miss in their game as they sit 24th with a 24.2% K% on the season.

Brady Singer Picks Up Win Against Astros
Kansas City Royals right-hander Brady Singer allowed one run on five hits across five innings of work during Thursday's win over the Houston Astros. Singer struck out four in the contest while walking two. The 27-year-old is now 2-0 on the season with a sparkling 0.98 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 18/4 K/BB rate. Singer was a sizeable disappointment for fantasy managers in 2023, but he has passed all the tests thus far in 2024. He is set to face the lowly Chicago White Sox in his next projected start and should be rostered in all formats while his resurgence continues.

Brady Singer Aiming To Dazzle Again Friday
Kanas City Royals right-hander Brady Singer will look for his second straight excellent outing on Friday when he and the Royals play host to the Chicago White Sox. The 27-year-old dominated the Minnesota Twins in his first outing of the season, tossing seven scoreless innings with just three hits and one walk allowed while he stuck out 10 Twins on the day. It was certainly an encouraging start to the season for Singer who struggled to a 5.52 ERA in 29 starts last season, although his 4.29 FIP, 4.46 SIERA, and 7% BB% all suggest he wasn't as poor as his surface ERA indicates. A drop to an 18.9% K% was concerning, however, as Singer's mediocre 22.1% K% for his career puts a cap on his fantasy value.

Brady Singer Showcases New Pitches In Spring Debut
In Kansas City Royals right-hander Brady Singer's Cactus League debut on Wednesday against the Seattle Mariners, he showcased two new pitches -- a four-seam fastball and a sweeper. Singer had an up-and-down year in 2023, posting a career-worst 5.52 ERA in a career-high 159 2/3 innings pitched. His sinker remains his bread and butter, but mixing in a four-seamer and sweeper now could make the young starter more effective. All three of Singer's strikeouts on Wednesday came on his sweeper in two innings of work. His four-seamer has good carry and "explodes on the hitter because of the true backspin," pitching coach Brian Sweeney said. Perhaps the new pitches will give the 27-year-old more strikeout potential after being mostly a two-pitch guy up to this point in his career. Fantasy managers in shallow-mixed leagues can be patient.

Brady Singer Set To Make Spring Debut On Wednesday
Kansas City Royals right-hander Brady Singer (back) is scheduled to make his Cactus League debut next Wednesday, Feb. 28, against the Seattle Mariners. Singer isn't limited at all at spring training this year despite ending the 2023 season on the injured list with a back strain. The 27-year-old former first-round pick by the Royals in 2018 out of Florida went 8-11 with a career-worst 5.52 ERA (4.29 FIP) and 1.45 WHIP with 49 walks and 133 strikeouts in a career-high 159 2/3 innings over 29 starts in his fourth year in the big leagues. It was a highly disappointing year for the former top prospect just hasn't fooled hitters much and probably needs to add to his arsenal in order to become interesting to fantasy managers in mixed leagues.

Brady Singer Shut Down For Remainder Of 2023
The Kansas City Royals have shut down starting pitcher Brady Singer (back) for the rest of the season, according to Anne Rogers of MLB.com. The right-hander started Monday's game against the Cleveland Guardians and experienced back tightness afterward. Following a breakout 2022 campaign in which he registered a 3.23 ERA, Singer struggled over 159 2/3 innings this year, posting a 5.52 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, and 18.9% strikeout rate. Fantasy managers who still own the 27-year-old can easily replace that kind of production with someone on the waiver wire.
