Felnin Celesten Promoted to High-A Everett

Seattle Mariners shortstop prospect Felnin Celesten has been promoted to High-A Everett after a successful 93 games at Single-A Modesto to begin the year. The Mariners' ninth-ranked prospect slashed .285/.349/.384 with five home runs and 20 steals for the Nuts, but was even better as of late, hitting safely in 20 of his last 24 games with a .309 batting average during that stretch. He'll get a shot at some stiffer competition to finish out the year, and hopefully he can carry this momentum into next season. The 19-year-old still has time to develop into more power, but already has solid hit and run tools, although it will be a few years before we see it in the major leagues.

Felnin Celesten Hitting Well in First Run Through Single-A

Seattle Mariners shortstop prospect Felnin Celesten went 3-for-6 with an RBI for Single-A Modesto on Sunday. The Mariners' fourth-ranked prospect (MLB No. 64) slashed .352/.431/.568 in 32 games for the team's Arizona Complex League affiliate last season, and has shown well thus far through 29 games at Single-A in 2025, slashing .310/.362/.405 with a pair of homers and six stolen bases. The 19-year-old's power still needs some development, as 32 of his 39 hits this year have gone for singles, but there's plenty of time to figure it out with an ETA to debut in the majors of 2028, according to MLB.com's top prospects list.

Felnin Celesten Nearing Return

Seattle Mariners shortstop prospect Felnin Celesten (wrist) is expected to return from injury this week. Celesten has been sidelined this past month with left wrist soreness. When healthy, the 18-year-old out of the Dominican Republic was putting up big numbers for the Mariners Arizona Complex League. During that time, he hit .341 with four triples, three homers, 27 RBI and a .984 OPS in 123 at-bats. Celesten was one of the bigger international signings in all of baseball in 2023 and has not disappointed in his brief time in professional baseball. Celesten has continued to add muscle to his body and that should only help him as he continues to mature. The switch-hitting shortstop has a huge ceiling, if his offense can catch up to his already stellar defense. The shortstop is years away from a big-league debut, but he is one of the more exciting prospects with huge potential. For now, he is only worth a look in dynasty leagues.

Felnin Celesten Mashing In Rookie Ball

Seattle Mariners shortstop prospect Felnin Celesten has been raking in Rookie Ball. Through 31 games, he's slashing .339/.421/.562 with 10 doubles, four triples, three home runs, and five stolen bases. In June alone, he's 20-for-52 (.385 AVG) with a 1.092 OPS. Just 18 years old, Celesten has a long way to go before making his MLB debut. He's the Mariners' No. 5 prospect (per MLB.com), expected to reach the majors sometime in 2028 (as of now). Regardless, he's worth monitoring as he progresses through Seattle's farm system.

Felnin Celesten Off To Hot Start

Seattle Mariners shortstop Felnin Celesten has been off to a hot start in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League to begin his professional career. The 18-year-old is currently hitting .423 with three doubles, a triple, two homers and eight RBI over his first 26 at-bats. Celesten was signed out of the Dominican Republic in 2023 as one of the top international free agents, but missed making his debut last season due to suffering a Grade 2 hamstring injury. Celesten is a switch-hitter, but has more power from the right side. He also added around 10-to-15 pounds of muscle this summer and his hit tool should continue to mature as his body does. He is years away from a big-league debut, but dynasty managers should keep tabs on the young shortstop.
