Jacob Nottingham Hits Towering Homer, Scores Twice

Seattle Mariners catcher Jacob Nottingham hit a towering fly ball off the top of the foul pole in left field for his third home run of the season Thursday. For the game, Nottingham went 1-for-2 with the homer, a walk, and two runs scored against the Texas Rangers. The homer was his third of the year. Nottingham has been filling in at first base for the injured Evan White but doesn't figure to hold the role for long as White resumed swinging Thursday. Nottingham isn't a fantasy consideration.

Jacob Nottingham Acquired By Seattle From Milwaukee

Seattle Mariners catcher Jacob Nottingham is back with the Mariners after once again being claimed off waivers from the Brewers. Nottingham is expected to play both behind the plate and potentially at first base while Evan White and Ty France are out with injuries. Nottingham has some pop, as he's homered seven times in 88 career major league at-bats, but he's by no means a priority for fantasy managers and can be left on the waiver wire.

Jacob Nottingham Acquired By Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers acquired catcher Jacob Nottingham from the Mariners for cash considerations on Sunday, and Nottingham will start for the Brewers in the finale with the Dodgers, according to Will Sammon of The Athletic. Nottingham had been selected by Seattle off waivers last week, but with injuries to Manny Pina and Omar Narvaez, the Brewers found themselves in need of help at catcher. He has not appeared in a game yet this season, but last year he hit .188 with a .736 OPS in 20 games. Don't expect much value out of him except for in the deepest of formats or two-catcher leagues.

Jacob Nottingham Draws Start For Game 2, Omar Narvaez Sits

Milwaukee Brewers catcher Jacob Nottingham will join the starting lineup for Game 2 of Thursdays wild-card series versus Los Angeles and left-hander Clayton Kershaw. Correspondingly, Omar Narvaez will head to the bench, but will presumably be available to pinch-hit for later in the contest. In an extremely small sample size, Nottingham demolished southpaws in 2020 to the tune of a 1.340 OPS, including seeing three of his four hits leaving the yard. Hell have some speculative DFS appeal due to his price tag.

Jacob Nottingham Starting At Catcher Monday

Milwaukee Brewers catcher Jacob Nottingham will bat eighth and draw the start behind the plate against righty Jose Urena on Monday. Manny Pina (biceps) is out, so Nottingham and Erik Kratz will split time at catcher. Nottingham was hitting well in the minors and is worth a look for fantasy owners in deeper leagues that are in desperate need of catching help. The Brewers will likely start Nottingham most games and have Kratz service as the veteran backup catcher. Nottingham should at least get plenty of at-bats, but he's not an option for DFS right now.

Jacob Nottingham Sent Back Down To Triple-A

Milwaukee Brewers catcher Jacob Nottingham has been sent back down to Triple-A Colorado Springs after Manny Pina (calf) has been activated off the disabled list. In seven plate appearances, Nottingham failed to register his first MLB hit, however, he earned two walks in his MLB debut. He still has a lot to learn and will benefit from starting time in Triple-A. Depending on how the Brewers want to handle their catching situation when Stephen Vogt returns, a trade could be in play to ensure Nottingham is starting in Triple-A. Keep a close eye on Nottingham, as any time a catcher injury happens to the Brewers, Nottingham will be the first one up and is most likely their future at the position.

Jacob Nottingham Will Make First Career Start

Milwaukee Brewers catcher Jacob Nottingham will make his first MLB start at the catcher position on Tuesday against the Cincinnati Reds. Nottingham came into Monday's game afterJett Bandywas pulled in a 9-0 game, and Nottingham earned two walks in two plate appearances. That's almost unheard of, as many rookies come out swinging trying to make a name for themselves. This plate discipline has earned him a start in what is right now a very injured catcher position for the Brewers with Manny Pina and Stephen Vogt out with injury. Nottingham is only 23 years old and could make a good impression on the Brewers organization during this time, so keep an eye out.

Jacob Nottingham Gets Two Walks In MLB Debut

Milwaukee Brewers catcher Jacob Nottingham walked twice in two plate appearances in the 10-4 loss to the Cincinnati Reds. After the Brewers went down 9-0 in the sixth inning, Jett Bandy was taken out and Nottingham was slotted in the top of the seventh inning as a defensive substitution. Nottingham earned a walk in his first at-bat against Luis Castillo and eventually ended up getting another walk against Raisel Iglesias. There is no better way to impress management than getting two walks in your MLB debut against two star pitchers. Bandy has not impressed after Manny Pina and Stephen Vogt went down with injuries, so we could possibly see Nottingham get some more starts down in the short term. Stay tuned.

Jacob Nottingham Called Up To Brewers

Milwaukee Brewers catcher prospect Jacob Nottingham has been called up to the MLB from Triple-A affiliate, Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Nottingham was acquired in the deal that sent slugger Khris Davis to the Athletics, and so far has yet to make his MLB debut as the organization's 17th best prospect. So far this year with Triple-A, the 23-year-old has impressed with a .296 batting average and a .863 OPS. Due to Manny Pina being out for ten days guaranteed on the DL and Jett Bandy already having to fill in while Pina was out, Nottingham will most likely make his MLB debut sometime in the upcoming week. He remains the Brewers future at catcher along with KJ Harrison.
