Joe Mack Homers in Fourth Straight Game

Miami Marlins catching prospect Joe Mack went just 1-for-4 on Tuesday for Triple-A Jacksonville, but his lone hit was a big one, a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning. The Marlins' third-ranked prospect has now homered in four straight games and five of his last seven, bringing his season total to 20. The 22-year-old now owns a .256/.336/.474 slash line with a .360 wOBA and 119 wRC+ in 106 games this year (93 at Triple-A, 13 at Double-A). The 22-year-old is trending toward a major league debut next year, and with some good power, he could be intriguing for fantasy, however, the Marlins also have plenty of young depth right now at the position, with both Agustin Ramirez and Liam Hicks handling duties behind the plate. So, Mack would have to somehow find regular at-bats when he gets there to make himself fantasy relevant.

Joe Mack Slugs Homer Tuesday

Miami Marlins catcher prospect Joe Mack went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI against Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday. Mack connected for his 15th homer of the season, marking his second straight game with a long ball. The lefty hitter has been surging in the second half, owning an .884 OPS with 10 homers compared to a .693 OPS with five homers in the first half. He has a typical catching profile with plenty of power and patience at the plate, with some swing and miss concerns. The 22-year-old is hitting .243/.312/.411 in 309 plate appearances at Triple-A this season. There's a chance we see him in the majors before the end of the year, and he would likely only be worth considering in NL-only leagues.

Joe Mack Hits Two Home Runs, Extends Hitting Streak to Seven Games

Miami Marlins catching prospect Joe Mack continued to swing a hot bat during their contest against Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday evening. In this contest, Mack went 4-for-4 at the dish with two long balls, three runs, and four RBI. This impressive performance also extended his current hitting streak to seven games. During this surge at the plate, the backstop has hit five home runs. However, before this impressive streak, Mack posted a modest .125/.196/.125 line through his previous 13 games at Triple-Jacksonville. Overall, throughout his first 51 games at the top level of the minor leagues, the No. 8-ranked prospect in the system has posted a .262/.324/.419 slash line with seven home runs. If Mack can continue this impressive power surge, he could reach the majors in the second half.

Joe Mack Homers Again; Hit Streak Now at Six Games

Miami Marlins catching prospect Joe Mack homered on Sunday in a 2-for-4 day at the plate for Triple-A Jacksonville. It was the third home run in his last four games, and the hits extended his current hit streak to six games, during which time he's gone 12-for-25 (.480) with a pair of doubles, three home runs, five RBI, six runs scored, and a stolen base. The 22-year-old also struck out six times compared to just one walk over that span. The left-hand hitting backstop slashed .318/.464/.614 in 13 games at Double-A this season before getting promoted to Triple-A, where he's tallied a .246/.311/.374 slash line over 50 games. The Marlins are deep at the position, with catchers Agustin Ramirez and Liam Hicks already promoted to the majors this year, but if Mack can continue to hit, he could be the next to be called upon if one of them or Nick Fortes were to hit the injured list.

Joe Mack Turning the Corner at Triple-A

Miami Marlins catching prospect Joe Mack went 2-for-4 with a home run during their contest against Triple-A Nashville on Thursday evening. Over his last three games with Triple-A Jacksonville, Mack has tallied at least one hit in each game and gone 5-for-13 with two extra-base hits. Before this surge at the plate, Mack went 6-for-44 during his first 12 games of the month at Triple-A. Mack opened the campaign with Double-A but was eventually promoted to Triple-A. Through his first 47 games at the top level of the minor leagues, Mack has struggled at times, holding a .223/.291/.320 slash line with a 51:5 K:BB. However, it appears the 22-year-old is starting to find his footing. If the No. 8-ranked prospect in the system can continue to find his swing, he could earn a call to Miami in the second half of the season.

Joe Mack Performing Well In First Look At Triple-A

Miami Marlins catching prospect Joe Mack has held his own during his first look at the Triple-A level. Mack was promoted to Triple-A Jacksonville earlier in April. Through his first 10 games at the top level of the minor leagues, Mack has posted a .270/.372/.486 slash line with two doubles and two home runs. He has held an 11:5 K:BB, tallied three RBI, and scored five runs. Earlier in the campaign, Mack held a .318/.464/.614 slash line at Double-A. Last season, the No. 9-ranked prospect in the Miami system posted a .241/.322/.456 line across 112 games at Double-A. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progression as he could eventually earn a promotion to the majors later in the season. However, with Agustin Ramirez now in Miami, Mack will likely only see a part-time role when he earns the call.

Joe Mack Promoted To Triple-A

The Miami Marlins have promoted catching prospect Joe Mack to Triple-A Jacksonville. Mack is considered the No. 9-ranked prospect in the system on MLB.com. The 22-year-old spent most of the 2024 campaign at Double-A and needed just 13 games at that level this season to prove he was ready for the top level of the minor leagues. This promotion is coming just one day after the Marlins promoted fellow catching prospect Agustin Ramirez to the big leagues. Mack will likely take his spot as the top backstop in Jacksonville. Across 13 games with Double-A Pensacola this season, Mack posted a stellar .318/.464/.614 slash line with four doubles and three long balls. Last summer at Double-A, Mack held a .241/.322/.456 line with 22 home runs across 112 games. He is a name to keep a close eye on as he could push for a second-half MLB debut.

Joe Mack Hits First Home Run Of The Season

Miami Marlins catching prospect Joe Mack went 3-for-4 with a double and a home run during Tuesday's contest against Double-A Montgomery. Mack tallied just one hit (a single) over his first two games of the campaign. This was a nice breakout outing for the 22-year-old. Last summer, Mack spent a majority of the campaign at the Double-A level and held a .241/.322/.456 slash line. Across 112 games, Mack went deep 22 times and added 25 doubles. He held a 46:122 BB:K and swiped two bags. Given his previous success at Double-A, fantasy managers should expect the Williamsville East HS product to push for a Triple-A debut later this summer. If he continues to hit for power, the No. 9 prospect in Miami could open the door for a late-season MLB debut.

Joe Mack Extends Hitting Streak To Seven Games

Miami Marlins catching prospect Joe Mack extended his current hitting streak to seven games by going 2-for-4 with a double and a run on Thursday evening. During this span, Mack has carried a stellar .462/.600/.615 line with a home run, seven RBI, and a 9:7 BB:K ratio. In addition, Mack has tallied at least two hits in four out of these seven games. The 21-year-old has looked solid through his first extended look at Double-A posting a .242/.322/.460 line with 17 home runs. Mack is considered the 29th-best prospect in the Miami pipeline on MLB.com and should push for a 2025 major league debut, given his production at Double-A this summer.

Joe Mack Continues To Thrive At Double-A

Miami Marlins catching prospect Joe Mack has continued to hit for extra bases at Double-A over the past two weeks. In his last nine games, the 21-year-old has posted a .344/.417/.656 line with four doubles, two long balls, and a 4:10 BB:K ratio. Since June 1 he has been riding an excellent .653 SLG with 10 total round-trippers. Mack opened the season with High-A Beloit and needed just 13 games there after logging almost the entirety of last summer there to prove he was ready for Double-A ball. The 2021 draft pick could see time in Triple-A later this summer and should contend for a major league debut next summer.
