Despite this, the 26-year-old flamethrower was sent down after posting a 4.94 ERA with a 1.72 WHIP and a 23.0% strikeout rate in his first 27 1/3 innings pitched at the big-league level. He was effective at Triple-A for 7 1/3 innings at the beginning of the season, so he will try to engrain that success for a larger sample to earn another shot at the big leagues.
