Kristian Campbell Named Boston's Top Hitting Prospect Of 2024

MLB Pipeline named second baseman/outfielder Kristian Campbell Boston's top hitting prospect of the 2024 season. Campbell, the No. 3 ranked prospect in the system and No.10 overall, began his 2024 season with his second look at High-A. Through 40 games, Campbell posted a .306/.418/.558 line with 13 doubles and eight home runs. He then earned the call to Double-A Portland, where he hit for an even better .362/.463/.582 line with 17 home runs and three home runs across 56 contests. The Georgia Tech product then ended his 2024 season by getting a brief 19-game taste of Triple-A. With Worcester, the 22-year-old held a .286/.412/.486 slash line. Given his steady improvement at each level of the minor leagues, Campbell should have a good opportunity to contend for a mid-season major league debut in 2025.

Kristian Campbell Named Minor-League Player Of The Year

Boston Red Sox infielder Kristian Campbell was named the 2024 Minor-League Player of the Year on Tuesday. Campbell is considered Boston's No. 5 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and he earns the honors despite finishing the year on the seven-day injured list at Triple-A Worcester with a left-lat strain. The 22-year-old began the year at High-A Greenville before being promoted to Double-A Portland and then Worcester. At all three levels combined, he hit .330/.439/.558 with a .997 OPS, 20 home runs, 32 doubles, three triples, 77 RBI, 24 stolen bases and 94 runs scored in 115 games over 517 plate appearances. The 6-foot-3, 191-pounder bats right-handed has always excelled at making contact but is now starting to develop more power as well. Campbell can play short, second and the outfield, but he's likely to stick at the keystone at the next level, potentially as early as 2025.

Kristian Campbell Turning In Torrid June For Double-A Portland

Boston Red Sox infield prospect Kristian Campbell is picking up the pace in June for Double-A Portland. This month, Boston's No. 30 prospect is hitting .421 with three homers and 12 RBI for the Sea Dogs. The Georgia Tech product has speed to burn on the base paths and has produced at least one hit in 13 of his 14 games in Double-A this month. During that stretch, Campbell has seven multi-hit games including a four-hit game and two three-hit games. While not a premium prospect for Boston, Campbell has turned heads since his move to Double-A in early June. The 21-year-old could push for a big-league spot in a few years but for now, he will look to build on his red-hot June.

Kristian Campbell Performing At High-A

Boston Red Sox second base/shortstop prospect Kristian Campbell has begun to settle into Triple-A after playing just 14 games at this level last season. During the opening month of this season, the 21-year-old posted a .288/.390/.561 stat line with four long balls, one swiped bag, and 13 RBI. He has a 10:23 BB:K ratio. Last season, in a small sample size at High-A, Campbell struck out a much higher rate and had a .267/.400/.422 and just one home run. It is very promising to see Campbell already begin to adjust to professional pitching in such a short amount of time. The former Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket is still several years away from a major league debut but is worth following in dynasty leagues, especially due to how quickly he is adjusting to High-A.
