Will Caleb Durbin's Hot Streak Last?

Boston Red Sox infielder Caleb Durbin has emerged as a waiver-wire target after a hot month of June at the plate. In 25 games and 92 plate appearances during the month, Durbin went 28-for-86 (.326) with six home runs, six doubles, 13 RBI, 16 runs scored, and five stolen bases. The 26-year-old is now hitting .229/.286/.387 with a .674 OPS, seven home runs, 36 RBI, 31 runs scored, and nine stolen bases in 78 games across 278 plate appearances in his first year in Beantown and his second overall in the majors. It was an incredibly hot month of June, but Durbin, who stands at just 5-foot-6 and 183 pounds, isn't your typical third baseman, both in stature and power potential. He hit .256 (114-for-445) with 11 homers, 53 RBI, 18 stolen bases, and 60 runs scored in 136 regular-season games with the Milwaukee Brewers in his rookie campaign last year. Fantasy managers considering Durbin off the waiver wire should be targeting him for his speed and not his recent power surge. He has a weak .234 xBA, .324 xSLG, and .277 xwOBA, suggesting that his power outburst last month isn't sustainable.

Caleb Durbin a Must-Add Off the Waiver Wire as he Continues to Rake?

Boston Red Sox infielder Caleb Durbin has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball recently, and he went 1-for-4 at the plate with two RBI, a run scored, two stolen bases, and a strikeout in the team's 5-4, 10-inning win at Fenway on Sunday to help Boston complete a four-game sweep over the division-rival New York Yankees. Durbin's overall numbers in 2026 in his second year in the majors (first with the BoSox) don't look very enticing from a fantasy standpoint, as he's hitting just .230/.283/.381 with a .664 OPS, six home runs, 34 RBI, 30 runs scored, and nine stolen bases in 75 games and 267 plate appearances. However, he has become a strong waiver-wire addition in fantasy leagues of late due to his hot streak at the plate, and he's eligible at both second and third base in most leagues. In his last 11 games, Durbin has gone 17-for-39 (.436) with three home runs, eight RBI, and four stolen bases. Durbin had 11 homers and 18 RBI in 136 games in his rookie campaign with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2025, and he's Boston's starting third baseman. He's available in 70% of Yahoo leagues right now.

Caleb Durbin Returns to BoSox Lineup Against Yankees

Boston Red Sox infielder Caleb Durbin (finger) will return for Thursday's series opener against the division-rival New York Yankees at Fenway Park, starting at third base and batting sixth against Yankees right-hander Cam Schlittler, per MLB.com. Durbin rejoins Boston's starting lineup a day after being pulled from Wednesday's contest early against the Colorado Rockies due to a partial dislocation of his left pinkie finger. The 26-year-old former 14th-round selection by the Atlanta Braves in 2021 out of Washington University in St. Louis has struggled to a .218/.273/.362 slash line, .636 OPS, five home runs, 30 RBI, 25 runs scored, and seven stolen bases in his 229 at-bats in his first year in Beantown. However, he's become a popular waiver-wire pickup recently since going 20-for-65 (.308) with four home runs, five doubles, eight RBI, 10 runs scored, and three stolen bases in his 19 games in June. Durbin could be battling some pain with his finger in his return on Thursday, and he's gone hitless in five career at-bats against Schlittler.

Caleb Durbin Suffers Dislocated Pinkie on Wednesday

Boston Red Sox infielder Caleb Durbin (finger) was pulled from Wednesday's game early against the Colorado Rockies after suffering a left fifth finger subluxation, according to Tim Healey of The Boston Globe. Durbin injured his finger while sliding into first base in the third inning. He was replaced at third base by Anthony Siegler, with Andruw Monastario going to second base, and Marcelo Mayer (foot) entering the game to play shortstop. Before leaving early, Durbin went 0-for-2 at the plate at Coors Field. Until we know more about Durbin's condition, we'll call him day-to-day, but this certainly has the potential to sideline him for an unknown period of time going forward. The 26-year-old former 14th-round pick by the Atlanta Braves in 2021 out of Washington University in St. Louis came into Wednesday's tilt hitting just .220 (50-for-227) with five home runs and seven stolen bases, but he has emerged lately as a waiver-wire pickup after hitting .317 (20-for-63) with four home runs, five doubles, eight RBI, 10 runs, and three steals in 18 games in June.

Does Caleb Durbin Still Have Deep-League Waiver Wire Appeal?

Boston Red Sox infielder Caleb Durbin got off to a disastrous start to the 2026 season, hitting .183 with one home run across 182 plate appearances through the end of May. However, the 26-year-old has started to turn it around a bit in June, hitting .220/.250/.415 with two home runs, four RBI, six runs scored, and one stolen base across 44 plate appearances this month. Durbin entered play on Thursday riding a 15-at-bat hitless streak, so fantasy managers should take note that his hot streak to open June may have been a mirage. Still, Durbin was a far more productive player across 506 plate appearances with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2025, hitting .256 with 11 home runs and 18 stolen bases. He's also remained a fixture in the Boston lineup and may have a chance to work his way out of the extended slump in what's looking like it may be a lost season for the Red Sox. In deeper leagues, Durbin may still be worth targeting on the waiver wire ahead of a possible second-half bounce-back.

Caleb Durbin Stays Hot With Two Solo Homers Against Tampa

Boston Red Sox infielder Caleb Durbin, who came into Wednesday's game at Tropicana Field against the division-rival Tampa Bay Rays with an average under the Mendoza Line and just one homer on the year, went 3-for-4 at the plate with two solo home runs to raise his season average to .204 and his OPS to .594. Both of the 26-year-old's long balls came off Rays relievers late in what was an eventual 7-5 loss on the road. Despite Durbin's ugly season-long numbers, he has actually been seeing the ball well of late, hitting .341 (15-for-44) with two home runs, five doubles, a triple, nine RBI, six runs scored, and a stolen base in his last 12 games played. Fantasy managers in shallow-mixed leagues are going to need to see more out of Durbin to consider adding him off the waiver wire after such a bad start to his first year in Beantown in 2026. The former 14th-round pick by the Atlanta Braves in 2021 out of Washington University in St. Louis is rostered in under 10% of Yahoo leagues.

Caleb Durbin Hitless To Start Season; Red Sox Awaiting Turnaround

Boston Red Sox third baseman Caleb Durbin has yet to record a hit this season as he looks to find consistency early. Durbin is in his first year with Boston after being acquired from the Milwaukee Brewers in a deal that sent Kyle Harrison, Shane Drohan, and David Hamilton the other way. The 26-year-old earned an everyday role last season and posted a .256 AVG, .334 OBP, and .387 SLG. He is working through early struggles but will look to turn things around quickly as the Red Sox search for production.

Caleb Durbin Can Be a Great Late-Round Sleeper

Boston Red Sox third baseman Caleb Durbin is expected to open the season in an everyday role with plenty of potential, and he can be a great way to add some infield depth late in your fantasy draft or even off the waiver wire if he slips through your draft. Durbin shipped up to Boston this offseason after the Red Sox snagged him in a trade from the Brewers. Last year, Drubin slashed .256/.334.387 with 11 home runs and 53 RBI in 136 games on his way to finishing third in National League Rookie of the Year voting. He has looked excellent at the plate and in the field this spring, hitting .356 in 17 games with three stolen bases and a .431 wOBA. Since he'll be an everyday player and likely hit in a good spot in Boston's batting order, he has a solid batting average floor and good speed potential. He's ranked as the No. 16 3B at RotoBaller and brings nice flexibility with 2B eligibility in some formats as well. If you need infield help at the end of your draft, he's a great option to consider.

Caleb Durbin to Start at Third Base on Opening Day

Caleb Durbin will be the Boston Red Sox's starting third baseman on Opening Day this year, manager Alex Cora confirmed. The Red Sox acquired Durbin from the Milwaukee Brewers just before spring training, and now he will fill in at the hot corner after the team failed to re-sign Alex Bregman in the offseason. The 25-year-old has been sharing time at third this spring with Marcelo Mayer, who is the leading candidate to start the year at second base. Durbin has been impressive on both sides of the ball during Grapefruit League play, hitting .394 with seven RBI and three stolen bases in 33 at-bats through Tuesday. He hit .256 with 11 home runs and 53 RBI in 2025 in Milwaukee and finished third in National League Rookie of the Year voting. With a locked-in starting role and a better offensive environment at Fenway Park, Durbin is a nice late-round target in fantasy leagues that should provide a solid batting average floor and the potential for 20 stolen bases. He's ranked as the No. 16 third baseman at RotoBaller.

Caleb Durbin Expected to be Boston's Starting Third Baseman

Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora stopped short of making it official but "strongly indicated" on Tuesday morning that infielder Caleb Durbin will be the team's starting third baseman on Opening Day later this month, according to Sean McAdam of MassLive.com. The Red Sox will most likely go with Durbin at the hot corner after they were unable to re-sign Alex Bregman in free agency in the winter. The 26-year-old Durbin played third base with the Milwaukee Brewers last year in his MLB debut, too, while finishing with a .256/.334/.387 slash line, .721 OPS, 11 homers, 53 RBI, 60 runs scored, and 18 stolen bases in 136 total regular-season games. Durbin finished third in the National League Rookie of the Year voting. He displayed great plate discipline, but fantasy managers should be concerned about his 4.0% barrel rate, 26.9% hard-hit rate, and 85.2 mph average exit velocity. Durbin doesn't have the high-end power to be more than a backup third base option in mixed fantasy leagues.
