So far in his first season in Beantown, Gonzalez has only seen action in two games and has gone 1-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout. He can continue to be ignored for fantasy purposes.

Andrus is expected to come off the injured list this weekend for the series against the Detroit Tigers at home, but he won't be guaranteed regular playing time if Gonzalez continues to hit. The 26-year-old Gonzalez is hitting just .211 overall (15-for-71), but he's picked it up of late by going 5-for-18 (.278) with three home runs and four RBI in his last five games. The White Sox need all the offensive production they can get, so whoever is swinging the hotter bat will get the playing time.

Chicago White Sox general manager Rick Hahn stated Tuesday that Romy Gonzalez and Lenyn Sosa are the team's leading candidates as internal options to start at second base, per Chicago Sun Times' Daryl Van Schouwen. Hahn also mentioned veteran Leury Garcia as a backup. Gonzalez had a poor 2022 season at the plate, slashing just .238/.257/.352 with two home runs and 11 RBI in 109 plate appearances. Sosa had a very successful season across Double-A Birmingham and Triple-A Charlotte, but he only saw 36 plate appearances at the big-league level. Hahn did mention that it is possible that the White Sox could look outside of the organization for the position, but while neither Gonzalez nor Sosa inspire much fantasy confidence at this time, Sosa's success in the minors makes him a more intriguing fantasy option.
