Eli White News
The Atlanta Braves selected the contract of outfielder Eli White from Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday and optioned outfielder Forrest Wall to Gwinnett in a corresponding move. To make room on the 40-man roster, the team moved left-hander Ray Kerr (elbow) to the 60-day injured list. White had a 6-for-7 game with two doubles, two home runs and seven RBI down on the farm this week and is hitting .289 with seven home runs, and an .848 OPS in 54 games at Gwinnett. However, he's a .181 career hitter with nine home runs, 28 RBI and 17 stolen bases in parts of four major-league seasons with the Braves and Texas Rangers. White went 1-for-14 (.071) with two walks and seven strikeouts with Atlanta in 2023 and will be a reserve outfielder in the big leagues in 2024 for however long he sticks around.

Braves Acquire Eli White From The Rangers
The Atlanta Braves acquired outfielder Eli White from the Texas Rangers on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations. To make room for White on the 40-man roster, the Braves designated infielder Hoy Park for assignment. The Rangers found a trade partner for White after they designated him for assignment last week. The 28-year-old played in 47 games for Texas in 2022, slashing just .200/.274/.305 with a .578 OPS, three home runs, 10 RBI, 16 runs scored and 12 stolen bases in 117 plate appearances. His season was ended early in June due to knee and wrist injuries, but he should be healthy for spring training in 2023. If he can stay healthy and productive at the plate, White could compete for part-time playing time in left field for the Braves next year.

Greg Holland, Eli White Make Opening Day Roster
Texas Rangers relief pitcher Greg Holland and outfielder Eli White have been informed by manager Chris Woodward that they have made the team. Meanwhile, relief pitcher Spencer Patton was optioned and outfielder Jake Marisnick was released by the team. Holland is the most notable player here. Joe Barlow has been heralded as the favorite for saves in Texas, but Holland significantly outperformed him this spring and we all know the 36-year-old has far more experience in a closing roll in the majors. Fantasy managers in leagues where saves are scarce and highly coveted may want to speculatively add Holland in case he opens the year as the team's primary closer.

Eli White Placed On 10-Day IL
Texas Rangers outfielder Eli White (elbow) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Thursday retroactive to Wednesday with a right elbow strain, according to Rangers Executive Vice President of Communications John Blake. White was scratched from Thursday's lineup due to what was reported as tightness in his right elbow, Over 64 games this year, White is slashing .177/.259/.308 with six homers, four steals, 15 RBI and 26 runs scored. To replace White on the roster, the Rangers have recalled infielder Yonny Hernandez from Triple-A Round Rock.

Eli White Could Miss Time
Texas Rangers shortstop Eli White (elbow) was scratched from Wednesday's lineup against the Los Angeles Angels. He is dealing with tightness in his right elbow and will undergo further testing. Manager Chris Woodward mentioned that this issue has been bothering White for quite some time. It wouldn't be shocking to see White miss some time with the Rangers season being a wash anyway. White hasn't brought much to the plate and isn't even hitting over the .200 mark on the season. He can be ignored in fantasy formats whether he lands on the injured list or not.

Eli White Blasts Solo Shot On Sunday
Texas Rangers shortstop Eli White is not known for his power ability at the plate. However, he was seemingly the only bat that decided to show up for this offense on Sunday. White went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in the 3-1 defeat to the Houston Astros. His blast came off righty Zack Greinke in the fifth inning, which marks White's sixth home run of the season. It was nice to see a little power coming from his bat, but White can continue to be ignored in basically all fantasy formats.

Eli White Smacks Two-Run Blast In Loss
Texas Rangers outfielder Eli White was one of the few bright spots for this offense on Friday. White went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and one walk in the blowout loss to the Toronto Blue Jays. White supplied the only runs for his team in this game, but don't expect that to continue happening. He's slashing .200/.271/.335 with five home runs and 14 RBI this season. White can continue to be ignored in basically all fantasy formats.

Eli White Out Of The Lineup Saturday
Texas Rangers outfielder Eli White (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Oakland Athletics. This appears to be a routine rest day for White after going 1-for-3 during Friday's contest. Jason Martin will move into the outfield for this game versus righty James Kaprielian. Neither player brings enough upside with the bat to warrant using as a streaming choice or DFS option on Saturday.

Leody Taveras, Eli White Make OD Roster
Texas Rangers outfielder Leody Taveras and utility player Eli White have both made the club's opening day roster. The switch-hitting Dominican is expected to be the regular centerfielder. He has produced a .736 OPS but with a modest BB-K of 1-9 in 13 spring games. Last season in the majors, Taveras had a 93 wRC+ with four home runs and eight stolen bases in 33 games. Speed and defensive skills are his greatest assets. White has produced a .984 OPS this spring while playing multiple positions. Last season in the majors, he produced a 24 wRC+ in 19 games. He's expected to back up all three outfield spots while also seeing time at first base. His versatility is his greatest asset.

Eli White Strikes Out Four Times
Texas Rangers utility player Eli White struck out four times in as many at-bats on Sunday. He was also playing first base for the first time this spring while the club attempted to increase his versatility with an eye towards carrying him on the 26-man roster. Predominantly an outfielder, he has also seen a little time at shortstop and second base. This spring, White is 7-for-25 (.280) with a homer and two stolen bases. White appeared in 19 MLB games in 2020 and hit just .188. His emergence this spring, if he can competently handle first base, could spell doom for Nate Lowe's hopes of opening the year with the club as Ronald Guzman appears to have the handle on the everyday first base gig.
