Kristian Campbell Will Work to Gain Strength This Offseason

Boston Red Sox second baseman Kristian Campbell will focus on adding weight and strength to his frame this offseason, according to Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic. Campbell won the second base job out of spring training, signed an eight-year, $60 million deal in April, and then won American League Rookie of the Month honors. However, he struggled over the next couple of months and was sent to Triple-A Worcester in June. The 23-year-old stayed there through the rest of the season. He hit .223 with a .664 OPS in 67 games with the BoSox, and while his numbers looked better on the farm, he still wasn't lifting the ball much. At 6-foot-3, 191 pounds, Campbell already has a wiry frame, but he lost weight during the season, which led to a noticeable dip in his exit velocity and hard-hit rates. Boston still believes in Campbell for the long term, but chief baseball officer Craig Breslow didn't commit to a role for Campbell on the big-league roster to start the 2026 season.

Kristian Campbell Staying Ready at Triple-A Worcester

Boston Red Sox infielder/outfielder Kristian Campbell continues his push to get back on the major league roster, going 3-for-5 on Thursday with a double, two runs scored, and a stolen base for Triple-A Worcester. The 23-year-old has three multi-hit efforts in his last four games, and is hitting .329 with a .913 OPS over his last 18. The 6-foot-3 slugger was sent down to Triple-A in June after struggling at the major league level, however, with this recent hot stretch, he could be vying for a late-season call-up to help Boston make a postseason run. If that happens soon enough, he could also be in line to help fantasy managers with their playoff runs, and is eligible at 2B and OF for those interested in stashing away.

Kristian Campbell Continues to Make Case for MLB Promotion

Boston Red Sox infield/outfield prospect Kristian Campbell has continued to make a strong case to earn a promotion to the major leagues. Over his last four games with Triple-A Worcester, the former top prospect has tallied at least two hits in each contest. During this four-game stretch, Campbell .444/.474/.722 slash line with two doubles and one home run. Through his first 52 games with Triple-A this season, Campbell has held a strong .280/.490/.440 line with eight doubles, seven home runs, and three stolen bases. Earlier in the season, Campbell spent time in Boston but was unable to find much success, finishing his first stint with a .664 OPS through 67 games. Campbell remains a high-end prospect to stash in all formats as he should be in the mix to join Boston for the stretch run.

Kristian Campbell Still Has Work to do in Triple-A

Boston Red Sox utilityman Kristian Campbell has continued to play well in Triple-A Worcester of late, hitting .323 with a .943 OPS in 26 games since the All-Star break. When asked this weekend about Campbell's progress, though, Alex Cora was evasive and said, "I've been watching the at-bats," Cora said. "He's producing, but there's still work to do", Jen McCaffrey of the Athletic reports. Cora also went on to say that pitch recognition is something that Campbell needs to work on, and that it's hard to replicate in Triple-A, because the pitching down there is not as good as it is in the majors. Campbell was sent down to the minors in June after struggling at the MLB level in his first stint, slashing .223/.319/.345 with six home runs, 21 RBI, 24 runs scored, and a 27.4 percent strikeout rate over 229 at-bats. Campbell is still one of the Red Sox's top prospects, but at this time, he remains a dynasty stash.

Kristian Campbell Goes Deep Thursday

Boston Red Sox second base prospect Kristian Campbell went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and two additional runs scored on Thursday. Campbell started in left field in this game and has shown his versatility as a defender at Triple-A with multiple starts at different spots on the diamond. The 23-year-old has been surging so far in August, hitting .326/.420/.512 with two homers and two stolen bases. Campbell was demoted to Triple-A Worcester on June 20 after struggling for a prolonged period of time in the majors. He was slashing .223/.319/.345 at the time of his demotion and has been solid in the minors since. The strikeout rate is still higher than you would like to see at 26%, but he owns a .410 OBP and is trending positively. There's a good chance he comes back up to the majors before the season ends.

Kristian Campbell Snaps Brief Skid at Triple-A

Boston Red Sox infield/outfield prospect Kristian Campbell was able to snap his brief skid at Triple-A quickly. After riding an impressive 15-game hitting streak, the former top prospect went 0-for-9 across his next three games. After this short slump, Campbell bounced back in a big way, going 5-for-8 with a double and a home run over his last two contests. During his 15-game hitting streak, Campbell carried an elite .393/.469/.589 line with two doubles, three home runs, one stolen base, and a 12:7 K:BB. The Georgia Tech product opened the season with Boston but was sent back to the minor leagues after hitting a slump in May and June. However, given his strong play in the minor leagues and recent shift to first base, Campbell could find himself back in Boston soon. He is a top hitter to stash in all standard leagues.

Kristian Campbell Extends Hitting Streak to 14 Games

Boston Red Sox infield/outfield prospect Kristian Campbell continued to perform at an elite level at Triple-A Worcester. On Tuesday evening, the former top prospect extended his incredible hitting streak to 14 games. During this contest against Triple-A Buffalo, the Georgia Tech product went 2-for-4 with an RBI. During this 14-game stretch, Campbell has posted a remarkable .404/.483/.615 slash line with two doubles, three home runs, one stolen base, and an 11:7 K:BB. Campbell opened the 2025 campaign in Boston but was optioned after he hit a skid in May. However, in April, has was quite productive, holding a .287/.388/.460 line with an .848 OPS. Given his recent surge at Triple-A, he should be viewed as a high-end hitting prospect to stash in all formats.

Kristian Campbell Tallies Three Hits, Continues Surge at Triple-A

Boston Red Sox second base/outfield prospect Kristian Campbell enjoyed another productive outing at Triple-A Worcester and is making a strong case to return to the big league. On Sunday, Campbell went 3-for-5 with a home run. This performance extended his current hitting streak to eight games. During this stretch, Campbell has posted an elite .419/.486/.645 slash line with a double, two home runs, and a stolen base. In addition, since returning to the minor leagues, Campbell has also begun to see time at first base, which should present another path for him to return to Boston in the near future. During his first 67 games in the majors, Campbell flashed upside at times, but held an overall .664 OPS. He should be viewed as a solid stash option in all standard formats.

Kristian Campbell Notches First Triple-A Home Run of 2025

Boston Red Sox second-base prospect Kristian Campbell was demoted three weeks ago to regain confidence and fine-tune his approach at the plate. In his 16th game at Triple-A Worcester, he finally notched his first home run. He went 1-for-5 with a three-run blast in Wednesday's 14-9 loss to the Rochester Red Wings. The overall results since Campbell's demotion remain a concern. He has produced just five extra-base hits across 72 plate appearances while striking out at a 31.9% clip, which is up from 27.4% during his time in Boston. He entered 2025 as one of baseball's most hyped prospects and showed flashes of his potential early on, though it's clear that more development is needed. The 23-year-old remains a firm hold in dynasty formats, but redraft managers can safely move on until he turns things around.

Red Sox Sending Kristian Campbell to Triple-A

ESPN's Jeff Passan reports that the Boston Red Sox are sending rookie infielder Kristian Campbell to Triple-A Worcester, according to sources. Campbell signed an eight-year, $60 million deal with Boston this spring and was hitting a strong .301/.407/.495 by the end of April. However, he's slashing .159/.243/.222 since then and will get a chance to reset himself at Worcester to close out the first half of the 2025 season. In addition to falling off at the plate since his strong start, the 22-year-old has struggled defensively at second base in Boston. At least until Alex Bregman (quadriceps) returns from the 10-day injured list, David Hamilton should continue to start at the keystone for the BoSox. Campbell is currently hitting .223 (51-for-229) at the big-league level with six homers, 21 RBI, 24 runs scored and two stolen bases. He'll almost certainly be back in Beantown at some point in the second half.
