Sabin Ceballos Has Big Debut For New Organization

After being acquired by the San Francisco Giants as part of the Jorge Soler trade, infield prospect Sabin Ceballos made his debut in a big way for High-A Eugene. The 21-year-old suited up at third base on Wednesday and went 4-for-5 with a walk, five runs and a three-run home run. Ceballos spent his time with the Braves system in High-A as well, and for the season is now hitting .267 with four homers, 33 RBI and nine stolen bases. Ceballos is far away from his potential big-league debut, but he certainly has made a strong impression in his first game with his new franchise. For now, he is only a watch-list candidate for dynasty managers.

Sabin Ceballos Heads To Giants

The Atlanta Braves traded third baseman Sabin Ceballos to the San Francisco Giants in a trade headlined by outfielder/designated hitter Jorge Soler returning to Atlanta. Ceballos, a third base prospect, had three homers and 30 RBI at High-A this season in the Braves system before the trade. He was the No. 17 prospect for the Braves, per MLB Pipeline. He hit .259 with nine stolen bases. The 21-year-old will provide some infield depth in the Giants' system but should be a ways away from making a major-league impact. The former third-round pick out of Oregon is a big-bodied third baseman with a big arm and some pop in his bat.

Sabin Ceballos Continues To Showcase Speed

Atlanta Braves third base prospect Sabin Ceballos went 2-for-5 with a double and a stolen base on Thursday evening. This was his second consecutive game swiping a bag and third time in his past four games. The Oregon product has tallied nine stolen bases this summer in his first full season of pro ball, as he logged only 14 games last summer across the Rookie League and Single-A. Ceballos has performed well in the batter's box this season, holding a .263/.358/.362 line with three home runs and 28 RBI. Ceballos is considered the 17th-best prospect in the Atlanta system and remains several seasons away from his major league debut.
