Seaver King Enduring Cold Slump at Triple-A, Should Managers be Concerned?

Washington Nationals shortstop prospect Seaver King began the 2026 regular season at the Double-A level but was quickly bumped up to the top club in the system after a hot start. At the Double-A level, King, the team's former 10th-round pick, batted .336/.427/.562 line with 10 doubles, five home runs, and five stolen bases over a short 35-game stint, which prompted the early call-up. While he enjoyed an impressive start to his Triple-A tenure, the young infielder has recently hit a cold streak at the plate. Over his last 16 games, King has held a modest .246/.338/.333 line with just one home run. However, over his 18 games prior to the skid, King posted a much higher .293 AVG and an .853 OPS. While this recent slump may have slightly delayed his MLB debut, King remains on track to compete for a late-season promotion to D.C., making him a worthy stash target in deeper 12+ team leagues.

Seaver King Competing at Triple-A, Now on Stash Radar?

Washington Nationals infield prospect Seaver King has held his own since earning a promotion to Triple-A in mid-May, slashing .275/.338/.443 with five home runs and four steals through 33 games for the Red Wings. The former first-round draft pick has seen his strikeout rate increase modestly and walk rate decline considerably at the minors' highest level, so it is something to keep an eye on as his chase rate stands at 38.9 percent (seventh percentile). That would likely need to improve if he is going to get his shot in the big leagues this season, but sitting at the doorstep to the majors, he's also just one injury away from a call-up. With a skillset that gives him the potential to be a multi-category contributor on the league's highest scoring offense (5.4 runs/game), managers in deeper 12+ team leagues could begin to consider stashing the 23-year-old, though he is not in must-stash territory yet.

Seaver King has Talent to Become Stash-Worthy Ahead of Week 15

Washington Nationals shortstop prospect Seaver King has had a productive year in the minor leagues in 2026, hitting .306 between Double-A Harrisburg and Triple-A Rochester with 10 home runs and 51 RBI, along with nine stolen bases. The former No. 10 overall pick out of Wake Forest is pushing hard for a look at a promotion to Washington but has seen his numbers dip slightly with his promotion to Triple-A. With stud shortstop CJ Abrams manning the position in Washington along with Nasim Nunez providing depth, it might be hard for King to break through for a spot with the Nationals in the short term. King's five-tool profile, however, makes him a good candidate to add in mid-to-deep-sized leagues. He should help contribute at the middle infield positions and would be a must-start should Abrams or Nunez suffer an unfortunate injury.

Seaver King Entering High-End Stash Territory Amid Impressive Showing at Triple-A?

Washington Nationals shortstop prospect Seaver King was recently promoted to Triple-A and is now firmly on the stash radar. King, the team's 6th-ranked prospect (and No. 99 in the sport) according to MLB.com, began the 2026 season with Double-A, where he posted a stellar .336/.427/.562 line over 35 contests. During this short stint, King hit five home runs and swiped five bags while holding a 31:22 K:BB. This prompted a promotion to Triple-A Rochester, where King has continued to look sharp, holding a similar .296/.344/.487 line with five doubles and three home runs. Even though the Washington infield is crowded at the moment, if King maintains this pace, he should join them in the second half. For now, the former 10th overall pick from the 2024 MLB Draft is a worthy stash target in deep 12+ team leagues, but his value should continue to rise over the coming weeks.

Seaver King Turning the Corner at Double-A

Washington Nationals infield prospect Seaver King has begun to turn the corner at Double-A. King earned the call to Double-A Harrisburg on June 3. Over his first three games, he went 3-for-14 at the plate with two strikeouts. However, over his last nine contests, King has tallied at least one hit in all but two games. During this stretch, he has hit one home run, tallied five RBI, and swiped two bags. Earlier this season, the No. 4-ranked prospect in the Washington system made his High-A debut and held a .263/.307/.380 line through his first 45 games at the level. The Nationals drafted King with the 10th pick in last year's MLB Draft out of Wake Forest. Fantasy managers should expect King to spend most of the campaign with Double-A. If he continues to produce, he could earn a late-season taste of Triple-A.

Seaver King to be Promoted to Double-A Harrisburg

Washington Nationals shortstop prospect Seaver King is getting promoted to Double-A Harrisburg after putting up a .263/.307/.380 slash line through 45 games at High-A this season. While those numbers don't jump off the page, the 2024 first-round draft pick was hitting much better as of late, going 20-for-59 (.339) with two doubles, a triple, a home run, and five stolen bases over the last 14 games. The Nats' fourth-ranked prospect doesn't offer much in the way of power, but can hit and run, with 12 steals so far in 2025. If he continues to hit and progress, a late-2026 MLB debut could be in the cards, but don't expect him to be a full-time regular until 2027.
