Seiya Suzuki Drives In Three Runs

Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki put together a nice day at the plate during Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies. He started off with a two-RBI single in the fifth inning. After that, Suzuki drove in another run with another single in the seventh inning. The 30-year-old went 2-for-4 with three RBI as he seemed to be the only source of offense considering the Cubs scored four total runs. Suzuki has registered six hits over his last three games. He's slashing .292/.361/.552 with six home runs and 23 RBI this season. Suzuki has proven to be a reliable option in the middle of the Cubs lineup.

Seiya Suzuki Returns For Series Opener Against Phillies

Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki (wrist) is back in the starting lineup for Friday's series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies at Wrigley Field. Suzuki will serve as the designated hitter and bat third against Phillies right-hander Taijuan Walker. A wrist injury has bothered Suzuki of late, causing him to be scratched from Wednesday's game. But the 30-year-old is back in action to kick off the weekend series against the Phillies, and he should be returned to all starting fantasy lineups. The Japanese outfielder has three hits in six career at-bats against Walker with two RBI. He's also hitting a nice .276 (24-for-87) on the year with six home runs, 20 RBI, a steal and 14 runs scored. Suzuki has cooled off at the plate a bit of late, going 5-for-24 in his last six games, but he should still be returned to starting lineup in a solid matchup.

Seiya Suzuki Scratched On Wednesday With Wrist Soreness

Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki (wrist) has been scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's series finale against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers at Wrigley Field due to right-wrist soreness, according to the team. Suzuki is being considered day-to-day. Veteran Justin Turner will serve as the designated hitter and will bat third against Dodgers right-hander Ben Casparius. Fantasy managers will want to make sure Suzuki is out of their lineup for Wednesday's action, but hopefully he'll be feeling good enough to return for Friday's series opener against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies after an off day on Thursday. It's a bit concerning for the 30-year-old, though, as he also missed three games last week with the same issue. Since returning in the last five games, Suzuki has gone 5-for-22 with a double, two homers and five RBI. The Japanese outfielder is playing well early on with a .276/.354/.540 slash line and six homers.

Seiya Suzuki Returns To Starting Nine On Wednesday

Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki (wrist) is returning to the starting lineup on Wednesday afternoon when they play the final game of a three-game set against the San Diego Padres. Suzuki has been kept out of the lineup over the past three days due to a wrist injury. However, the 30-year-old was able to avoid a lengthy absence. On Wednesday, he will serve as the designated hitter and bat in the three-hole. He has enjoyed a productive start to the campaign, holding a strong .292/.390/.538 slash line with two doubles and four home runs across 17 contests. He has tallied 11 runs, 15 RBI, and held an 11:23 BB:K. Under the hood, he has generated an impressive 14.0 percent barrel rate and a 48.8 percent hard-hit rate, which are both well above the average marks. He should be started in all formats, but it is best to fade in DFS facing San Diego right-hander Nick Pivetta, who enters Wednesday boasting a 1.59 ERA.

Seiya Suzuki Out Again On Tuesday

Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki (wrist) is out for his third straight game on Tuesday. He suffered the injury after being hit in the wrist by a pitch on Saturday and was deemed as day-to-day by manager Craig Counsell. There have been no updates on his timetable since so it will be something to continue to monitor over the next few days. Suzuki will hope to avoid a trip to the injured list after getting off to a hot start at the dish, slashing .292/.390/.538 with four home runs through 17 games.

Seiya Suzuki Remains Out On Monday

Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki (wrist) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the San Diego Padres. Suzuki is set to miss his second game in a row due to a right wrist issue that he suffered during Saturday's contest. For now, Suzuki should be considered as day-to-day, but it wouldn't be shocking if he ends up on the injured list. Justin Turner will serve as the designated hitter and bat third against right-hander Dylan Cease on Monday. Turner hasn't done enough with the bat this season to warrant rostering in most fantasy formats.

Seiya Suzuki Held Out Of Sunday's Lineup

Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki (wrist) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. This doesn't come as a surprise after Suzuki was forced to exit early on Saturday due to right wrist discomfort. For now, fantasy managers should consider Suzuki as day-to-day. However, it wouldn't be shocking to see him land on the injured list if he doesn't get better in a few days. In the meantime, Justin Turner will take over at the designated hitter spot and bat third versus right-hander Tyler Glasnow on Sunday. Turner isn't bringing enough upside with the bat right now to warrant rostering in most fantasy formats.

Seiya Suzuki Day-To-Day With Wrist Injury

Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki (wrist) is considered day-to-day with a wrist injury. According to Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports, Suzuki initially sustained this injury during their contest on Monday against the Rangers but aggravated it against the Dodgers on Saturday evening. Fantasy managers should monitor his status leading up to their rubber match against the Dodgers on Sunday evening, as the Cubs may opt to give the 30-year-old a day off. Over his previous five games, Suzuki posted a .500/.556/.625 slash line with one triple and four RBI. If Suzuki were to miss time, the Cubs may opt to move one of their position players to the designated hitter spot this evening. This could also open a starting spot for depth infielder Justin Turner or backstop Carson Kelly, if Miguel Amaya starts behind the dish.

Seiya Suzuki Leaves Saturday's Game With Wrist Soreness

Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki (wrist) left Saturday night's game against the Dodgers with right-wrist pain after two at-bats, in which he grounded out and lined out. He was replaced by pinch-hitter Miguel Amaya, who stayed in the game as the team's designated hitter in place of Suzuki. Hopefully, the issue is nothing major since Suzuki has gotten off to a great start to the year. He is hitting .292 through his first 17 games with four home runs, 15 RBI, and a .413 wOBA. Any time he has to miss would be a big blow to the Cubs' offense, which has been very productive so far this season. Stay tuned for more updates on the nature and severity of Suzuki's wrist issue.

Seiya Suzuki Carries Cubs Offense With Two Homers, Five RBI

Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki had himself a day in the team's 10-2 victory over the hosting Athletics in Sacramento on Wednesday, going 3-for-5 with two home runs, a career-high five RBI, two runs scored, a walk and a strikeout. Suzuki is now tied for the major-league lead in RBI with 11 after entering the day with a league-leading 16 strikeouts in eight games played. The 30-year-old outfielder got off to a slow start in 2025 by going 2-for-21 through his first five contests, but he's since gone deep four times with 11 RBI in his last four games to completely flip the switch in the early going. Although durability has been a bit of an issue early on in Suzuki's MLB career, he's managed 20-plus homers in the last two seasons and also stole a career-high 16 bags in 2024. If he's able to make more contact in 2025, a breakout could be coming.
