Xavier Isaac Hits Home Run No. 6 on Thursday

Tampa Bay Rays first base prospect Xavier Isaac went 1-for-4 with a home run during their contest against Double-A Pensacola. Since May 18, Issac has begun to heat up at the plate. During this nine-game stretch, Isaac has launched four long balls and held a .261/.371/.667 slash line. Through 22 games this season with Double-A Montgomery, Isaac has held a .232/.404/.565 line with three doubles, six home runs, and a 28:18 K:BB. Last season, the No. 46-ranked prospect in the sport spent most of his time with High-A before earning a second-half look at Double-A. During his first stint with Double-A, Isaac held a lower .211/.346/.349 slash line. If Isaac continues to heat up at Double-A, he could be in the mix to earn the call to Triple-A later this season.

Xavier Isaac Enjoying Power Surge

Tampa Bay Rays first base prospect Xavier Isaac went 1-for-4 with a home run during their contest against Double-A Columbus on Friday evening. This outing extended his current hitting streak to five games. In addition, this was Isaac's second-straight contest going deep. During this five-game stretch, the No. 46-ranked prospect in the sport has posted a strong .353/.389/.882 slash line with three home runs and six RBI. Through 18 games at Double-A Montgomery this season, Isaac has held a .250/.417/.607 line with three doubles, five home runs, and a 21:15 K:BB. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the 21-year-old's progression as he could be in the mix to reach Triple-A Durham late this season. However, he remains on track for a 2026 MLB debut.

Xavier Isaac Heating Up At Double-A

Tampa Bay Rays infield prospect Xavier Isaac has begun to find his footing at Double-A. After missing the start of the campaign due to an elbow injury, Isaac went 2-for-20 with two doubles during his first six games of the season. However, over his last three contests, the 21-year-old has tallied at least one hit in each game. During this stretch, the No. 2-ranked prospect in the Tampa Bay system has held a .400/.538/1.000 with one double, one triple, one home run, and four RBI. Last season, the former 29th overall pick spent most of the campaign with High-A before earning a brief taste of Double-A. During his first look at Double-A, Isaac posted a .211/.346/.349 slash line with four doubles and three home runs across 31 games. Fantasy managers should expect Isaac to spend most of the 2025 campaign at the Double-A level.

Rays Hopeful Xavier Isaac Will Return In A Couple Of Weeks

The Tampa Bay Rays are hopeful that first base prospect Xavier Isaac (elbow) will be ready to rejoin Double-A Montgomery in a few weeks as he builds his throwing program, according to MLB Pipeline's Sam Dykstra. Isaac is currently on the seven-day injured list at Montgomery due to a left-elbow injury that cropped up early in spring training. The 21-year-old left-handed-hitting first baseman is the team's No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and was taken in the first round (29th overall) in 2022. The 6-foot-3, 240-pounder hit .264 (97-for-367) with 18 home runs, 78 RBI, 15 stolen bases and 65 runs scored in 102 games with High-A Bowling Green and Montgomery, but he did strike out 54 times in 133 plate appearances after moving to Double-A. There's lots of raw power with Isaac, but his elbow injury will set him back early on in 2025, and he's unlikely to be an option for a big-league promotion until next year.

Xavier Isaac Not Playing In Spring Breakout Game

Tampa Bay Rays first base prospect Xavier Isaac (wrist/elbow) will not play in the Spring Breakout Game due to a sore elbow and wrist. Isaac has been dealing with this injury throughout most of camp. While he has returned to the lineup as a designated hitter, the team will opt to keep him sidelined to ensure he is ready for the start of the minor league regular season. The team also attempted to move Isaac to the outfield but his injury delayed those plans. Isaac is considered one of the top prospects in Tampa Bay and one of the top at the position in the sport. Last season, the former 29th overall pick spent most of his season at High-A where he posted a .287/.381/.535 line with 17 doubles and 15 home runs. He then earned a brief look at Double-A where he posted a modest .211/.346/.349 line. He will likely begin his 2025 season with Double-A and could push for a promotion to Triple-A later in the summer.

Xavier Isaac Returns To Starting Lineup

Tampa Bay Rays first base prospect Xavier Isaac (elbow) returned to the starting lineup on Sunday. Isaac was sidelined during the early part of camp due to soreness in his elbow. The budding star underwent X-rays, and the results came back negative. In this contest, Isaac served as the designated hitter and went 0-for-2 with a walk. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status but seeing him return to the starting lineup suggests this injury was not serious. However, it is still unclear when he will be cleared to play on the defensive side of the game. The 21-year-old has primarily played in the infield in the minor leagues but has begun seeing time in the outfield. Last season, Isaac spent most of the 2024 campaign at High-A and held a strong .287/.281/.535 slash line with 15 home runs. He received a brief taste of Double-A and is expected to open the 2025 season at that level.

X-Rays Come Back Negative On Xavier Isaac

The X-rays on Tampa Bay Rays first base prospect Xavier Isaac (shoulder) came back negative. Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reported that Isaac should resume hitting in the "next few days" and will "work back into throwing." Isaac has begun to see work in the outfield during camp. However, he felt soreness in his elbow when making a throw. However, seeing that the X-rays returned clean suggests Isaac will not miss much time. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his deployment during spring training as the team may ease his workload in the outfield for a period of time. Throughout his time in the minor leagues, the 21-year-old has primarily played at first base, but the Rays would like to add to his defensive versatility. He made his Double-A debut last summer and held a .211/.346/.349 line across 31 games. He will likely open the season with Double-A Montgomery and push for a Triple-A debut later in the season.

Xavier Isaac Undergoing Precautionary MRI

Tampa Bay Rays first base prospect Xavier Isaac (elbow) is set to undergo a precautionary MRI on his left elbow. Isaac has begun to see time in the outfield during camp, which has put more stress on his arm. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on his status as he is considered one of the top prospects in Tampa Bay and the sport. The former 29th overall pick has primarily been deployed as an infielder, but the team wants to add to his defensive versatility. Last summer, the 21-year-old received his first extended look at High-A and held a .287/.381/.535 line with 17 doubles and 15 home runs. At the end of the summer, Isaac was given a brief 31-game taste of Double-A, where he posted a .211/.346/.349 line with three home runs. He will likely open the season with Double-A when cleared for action.

Rays Invite Carson Williams, Xavier Isaac To MLB Spring Training

The Tampa Bay Rays announced on Thursday that they've invited shortstop prospect Carson Williams and first base prospect Xavier Isaac to major-league spring training this year. Along with Isaac and Williams, the Rays also invited prospect Tre' Morgan. Per MLB Pipeline, Williams is the No. 9 overall prospect in baseball in 2025, with Isaac checking in at No. 51 and Morgan at No. 94. Williams, 21, missed time with a hand injury in 2024 but still managed to his 20 homers, drive in 69 and steal 33 bases in 115 games with Double-A Montgomery. He strikes out plenty, but he makes up for it with plus power and speed and a strong throwing arm. Isaac, 21, hit .264/.370/.480 with 18 homers and 15 steals in 102 games at High-A Bowling Green and Montgomery in 2024. Morgan, 22, has below-average power for a first baseman but has an excellent hit tool and rare speed at his position.

Xavier Isaac Performing Well During Arizona Fall League

Tampa Bay Rays first base prospect Xavier Isaac has posted an impressive .286/.403/.554 slash line through 15 games at the Arizona Fall League. He has hit three home runs and six doubles. This is a great sign for the 20-year-old as he enjoyed a fantastic campaign at High-A last season. Across 71 games with High-A Bowling, Isaac carried a .287/.381/.535 line with 17 doubles and 15 long balls. The No.2 prospect in Tampa Bay then earned a brief taste of Double-A during the final month of the summer but struggled as he posted a .211/.346/.349 line. Isaac remains one of the top prospects in baseball and should spend most of the 2025 campaign in the upper levels of the minor leagues.
