Easton Stick News
The Los Angeles Chargers agreed to terms to re-sign quarterback Easton Stick on Monday, according to a source. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The fifth-round pick in 2019 will continue to back up Justin Herbert in 2023. The 27-year-old has been the Bolts' backup the last three seasons, but he's only seen action in one game, back in 2020 when he attempted just one pass. Veteran Chase Daniel has also been with LA as a backup, but he has yet to renew his expired contract. Stick will carry no fantasy value into the 2023 campaign.
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Chase Daniel completed 13 of his 21 attempts for 111 yards and a touchdown during their 32-18 loss against the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday. Daniel began their Week 1 game against the Rams as the starter but backed up his teammate Easton Stick in this one. His final numbers were comparable to Stick's, plus he did not commit any turnovers while Stick committed two. It's unknown at this moment who will get the nod next week against the Saints and who is the current leader to be the backup for star quarterback Justin Herbert. This is likely a decision the coaching staff will wait until after the team's final preseason game.
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Easton Stick completed 11-of-20 attempts for 134 yards with one touchdown and one interception, adding two carries for 24 yards and a fumble during their 32-18 loss against the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday. Stick played behind teammate Chase Daniel in their first preseason game against the Rams but started the game on Saturday. He showed some flashes, including a touch pass to Joshua Palmer on the sideline; however, he did commit two turnovers, including a fumble and an interception. It's difficult to determine which quarterback will be the backup for Justin Herbert at this point. It may come down to their final preseason game next week against the Saints.
